My wife and I drive an hour one way to go to this Planet Fitness because it is by far the best gym experience we can find. Immediately upon coming here, we were met with smiling and friendly faces. I am a shy person, so it takes a while for me to feel comfortable. BJ is especially, consistently, friendly and welcoming to members. The man has a true talent for connecting with people on the level they're comfortable (this deserves special recognition). It didn't take long before we were looking forward to seeing him, Christa, and Josh when we come through the door each time (this particular group deserves recognition).

Also, we LOVE the music. Being able to choose our favorite tunes on Rockbot has made the whole experience worth the membership. Hoping to see more songs added. This is a treat I feel gives something to look forward to during workouts, as I feel music is best appreciated through a shared experience. Can't wait to see what the future holds (will continue to update this review accordingly).

Today saw something that I would never dreamed of. I came in right around 1-2 pm, and all the staff were leaving. The manager was fired in the middle of his shift. No privacy, no respect by planet fitness. They terminated him in the most disrespectful way I have ever seen. The staff that have been there are super friendly and make this franchise fitness center like home. Really sad to see this terrible change and the way it was handled. Hayden Edward's didn't deserve to be treated that way. No one actually deserves to be terminated in the way they did. You praise in public and punish behind close doors. Planet fitness is going to lose a lot members because of this. Sad, do better by your staff planet fitness. TERRIBLE!

Only visit this gym a few times a year when in town. On this visit found there are a lot of roof leaks and random buckets around to catch the water. There's also a lot of the machines that are in disrepair and need to be fixed, adjusted, and/or maintenanced.

My favorite place to be. I feel at home here and I've never felt like that in a Gym. I love their tanning beds, love the selection they have when it comes to exercising and then for winding down, the heat and therapy from the hydro massage chairs.... this is definitely one of my very favorite places to be. Plus it's super clean and the staff are all super helpful and sweet. Definitely recommend the beckley planet fitness!

PF is my favorite place to go to take a minute for myself, away from the kids. The gym itself is clean, organized, and plenty of machines and equipment for everybody. I love how it's truly a no judgement zone. I'm a shy person and feel comfortable and confident here. There's so many different people, but we're all working on the same goals. It's a good energy. This is my Mom Only Area when I need a hour away from the bay bays. 😁👌
Oh and I've been working out long before becoming a PF member, but got some major results and changes pretty quickly, after joining. I needed that upgrade. Thanks PF☺️👏

The Opening employee for this club is always late, 20 minutes late this morning with a parking lot full of cars. At least 20 of us waiting in our cars for her to open the doors. She's also doing her makeup with her back turned to the door and sometimes isn't even there. I also left a message on the answering machine but I have a feeling she's deleting the negative messages which brought me here. I'll post pictures and videos going forward until this is corrected.

The tanning room I was in was filthy. I honestly have never been to a planet fitness location and saw such filth. Built up hair and dirt orphans the edges inside the stand up bed. The baseboards and walls were filthy, and the paper towel dispenser was filthy.
I let the fellow at the front desk know hurts so someone could address it and he told me that they have a maintenance person that cleans. If someone from the management team sees this, you are getting ripped off because whoever you are paying to clean is clearly not doing it. It is apparent by the amount of dirt and hair that this has been going on for a while and is not just a today thing.
The rest of the place looked ok and staff was friendly.

This planet fitness needs an upgrade. It's one of the smallest facilities I've been to. The place was pretty busy and none of the machines I use were open (sense they don't have 2 of much). There was no hot water for a shower, and a 30 min wait for a massage bed. I left sad. I'm glad this wasn't my first planet fitness experience

It’s hard to give 5 stars, because I have visited PF in other parts of the country that were much nicer over all, no broken equipment all the time, actual working Wi-Fi, you could actually buy cold drinks, and open 24/7.

I do want to say that the staff here work really hard to make this place feel like a welcoming environment and keep the place very clean for what they have to work with. I appreciate that a lot and that is one of the things specific to this Planet Fitness that make it a special place to come workout.

I would change my review if they brought back a 24/7 gym the way it is supposed to be and if they would fix equipment in a timely manner. I have talked to several people who agree they would benefit from the gym being open later especially on the weekend. I visit a lot right around closing time and there are usually 15+ people still in there trying to squeeze in the rest of their workout. So no excuses Planet Fitness, you are making the money, give the people what they want, offer what makes Planet Fitness great in the first place, a 24/7 judgment free gym that works good for everyone’s schedule. Wish this would change.

Very good equipment, Most of them are working , if one decides to “be broke” then PF staff have it fixed right away. Staff is very friendly. I go to PF in Beckley Wv & they’re great all the around. 10/10 I recommend. Oh btw they have lockers & scales in the women & men’s bathrooms as well as showers. 😁 also Lockers when you walk into the building. Tanning (stand up & lay down beds) is available. They have massage chairs. hydro massage chair & loungers (lounger is my favorite) 🥰💪🏻

So after having a misunderstanding with Cindy about the wait time on tanning bed she did pleasantly explain to me they have had Wi-Fi issues which caused the delay the days I had excessive wait time. Well now I just feel like a butthead I thought it was intentional. So I made things right wanted to make sure everyone knows she’s not the mean lady that makes u wait for the tanning bed. I have been going to this location since Oct 22 and have enjoyed all the amenities that they offer. Two of my brothers also joined and we enjoy the massage chairs after our workouts.
The staff is always friendly and helpful we we need anything. Cindy is awesome, she always greets us early in the morning with a great smile. The other guys are great too, Devin, Thomas and Logan. I have never been mistreated or wronged, The staff is awesome, morning staff is so much better then I could be at 5am idk how they put up with some of the rude ppl but they do with a smile. They should be rewarded for some of the stupidity I’ve seen first hand! they’ll go above and beyond to meet and even exceed your wants and needs. Cindy is so nice and respectful, she is always on her A game, greets you when you walk in with a smile, get you taken care of and ready to workout, makes sure you have everything you need, and is sure to greet you again on your way out the door always with a smile and words of encouragement, few ppl have the drive and work ethic I’ve seen from this young lady, and very few places left like this in general more or less a gym. 10/10 in my opinion. I always have an incredibly wonderful experience at the Beckley location. All of the employees are very friendly and treat you like a friend, while still remaining professional. Cindy is my favorite, she is always so helpful. She helped me upgrade to the black card. My fist time signing in to use the tanning bed she was so helpful and took the time to explain the whole process to me. I have never had any issues with tanning. There is a new guy working in the mornings now too, I don't know what his name is but I always see him cleaning or helping other members. The morning crew is a great team.

I go to this gym bc it’s the only one in the area. Some of the staff is super nice while on the other hand, not so much. The people who continuously break equipment need to be kicked out. There is always something broken. I have been going to a gym 6 years of my life and never snapped or broke a machine. It’s always the: lat pull downs, leg extensions, pec fly, cable machines and ECT. Sometimes the machines knobs are loose and need to be tightened but not a reason they should snap or break. 3/5 in my book.

I absolutely love the ability to get my work out in without feeling any type of way. It is daunting at first because mostly everyone is much more fit than you. However dont be alarmed when one of them come up and ask you if you'd like to workout with them and openly invite you into their routine. That has happened to me many times. Instantly takes away that nervous daunting feeling of trying to better yourself. Everyone started off in the same place you are and the energy & surrounding of PF is welcoming while the people are kind and respectful. The machines are perfect, clean, and well maintained. The showers are nice. The handicap shower does need a new shower head as it's broke but that's about the only thing I have found thats needed fixed but hasn't been since I started there. I would 10 out of 10 recommend to my friends & family.
