Great price for what you get for $25 a month. Massage chairs, tanning, Hydro Massage bed all included and you can use any of their gyms with no extra fees when traveling. I have the black card package. The basic package is only $10 a month but you can only use the local gym.

Wish this gym was 24 hours everyday. Most of my free time to go to the gym is night time on the weekends. When I can go during the week at night there’s only one person working and she seems overwhelmed. Very understaffed even when I go during the day.

The showers are absolutely the worst I have been to. The curtain was not only disgusting but one of the eyelet holes was ripped and the curtain obviously didn't close all the way. The shower head pipe was dangling, hair balls on the floor ugh.. Old school locker rooms with just a bench and the old school lockers! In my opinion there is no excuse for this. According to the crowd meter this isn't even a busy gym. The manager needs to be fired and the owner/s need to be fined, maybe that will work! I will never go into this gym again. Showers are the most important part of the gym...think about it!

This location has to be the most 50/50 location I’ve been to. Your morning weekday team is the most consistent, on the ball and attentive employees you have. 5 stars for them, but your weekday evening employees leave more to be desired. The one gentleman is always on his phone, and not paying attention. The girl working evenings is very polite, and seems like she is doing her best and almost as if she’s doing the work of two people. The paper towels are always empty and no one in sight to replace them. I am big into cardio and I notice they are constantly dirty when I use them. I understand it can get really busy in the evenings but even in downtimes the one girl will always be out on the floor while the gentleman just stands at the front desk. I’m not sure what the situation is but I expect more out of what I’m paying monthly for.

The air conditioning has been out all summer, and was last summer too. Or maybe it has been out this whole time and it's only noticeable in the summer? The manager does nothing about it, and corporate is useless and just forwards complaints to the manager. My husband does HVAC and he said if a work order was really put in for it like staff claim, that they would have been on top of it and fixed it already and it never takes this long. I'm not sure if there is embezzlement involved or funding is so low budget they can't afford to fix it? I have no idea so I can't say... But if you workout during the summer you are better off with a different gym. It's a shame what this place has become.

Getting really tired of coming to work out and there is no air conditioning or it is very low. It is July, the air should be on at all times. It feels sticky just touching the machines that’s how humid it is inside there on some days. The temp inside is extremely inconsistent.

As far as the equipment and cleanliness of this place, I have zero complaints! 5 stars in that department. I have a few others though.
My first is that it is consistently understaffed. Often when I come in and there is literally only one staff member in the building going back and forth between cleaning and tending to the front desk. I heard from others this is the case no matter what time of day, or day of the week you come in. It is very annoying, and I feel bad having to track down or call the single employee on duty whenever I need a drink or massage chair since I know they are probably running around doing 2 to 3 people’s jobs.
My second complaint is about the manager. I have noticed, and also heard from my friend who comes here even more often than I do since it's his home club, and other people that the manager is hardly ever present, and many people have a hard time getting a hold of her when they need to. Staff often tell them she is "too busy" or "she isn't in today" and they "think" she will be available at a certain time- and they seem to struggle with giving anyone her exact schedule as far as her hours or days off. Most of the staff are very nice and seem to be trying the best they can to help, so to me it seems like not knowing her exact schedule is not on them.
My third complaint is the temperature of the gym. The other day it was awful to the point it was very difficult to workout. They put up fans but all they seem to do is blow hot air. When I was in this morning a female employee looked sickly. Her face was flushed and she seemed a bit out of it and like she was struggling. She is usually super bubbly and smiling when I see her, but instead she looked like she was forcing a smile, so it was extra cause for concern. I asked her if she was okay and she told me “I hope so” last summer someone passed out when the AC broke down and it was out ALL summer. She also said that she wasn’t 100% sure it broke down, or if it just had trouble catching up with the extreme heat outside. I suggested she should probably leave early, but she told me she was the only employee working at the moment so she couldn't and she had to still try to do stuff. It was genuinely kind of horrifying, and it makes me wonder how many people have passed out at this place or come close to it. I would think if it's 97 degrees out and the AC isn't working they would close for everyone's safety, but management overall seems lacking and like they overlook many things.

You want more detail? I’m pretty sure you have cameras, should make it easy enough to look into but sure I’ll detail it here for everyone. This morning 4/16 an employee (off shift) went in to tan- I know she’s an employee because she’s usually on shift when I arrive. when I arrived and signed in about(7:12-7:15) no tanning rooms were available I asked how long until the hybrid and was told there was a min and a half left for the person currently using it. I signed in and waited. In that min and a half the only person to exit the spa area is the off duty employee who comes out just to ask the on duty employee to “restart” it for her because “she’s feeling bougie and wants to go another round. Do 7 more min…. Hang on though I gotta go back.” As time goes by all the other patrons begin to exit and other tanning booths open. When I approach the desk and note that folks came out the on duty employee tells me they weren’t the hybrid. When i said I overheard she was going back in I got told no that’s not what I heard and that some one else was suddenly ahead of me… this is after telling me 10 min ago it was only going to be a 1:30 min wait. I say ok sure. Wait another 10 min and it’s now 7:30 so I go to the desk and tell her its been 22 min( the time I stood there plus the 8 or something min before o arrived that she was in the booth) and can I just please get a different booth. Again. Just annoying when as a regular patron can only use a bed once every 24 hours that’s all.

I finally discontinued my membership, this was not a great gym. The price was good compared to others but it wasn’t worth it. The tanning beds and massage chairs were broken more often than they worked. The exercise equipment wasn’t bad but nobody cleans after themselves here, so there’s sweat residue all the time.

The Martinsburg location is always clean. Plenty of cardio machines and I like the weight machines. Staff seems friendly. As an older guy I am comfortable continuing my workouts there. Parking lot could use work, but that's the shopping center owner and not PF. I feel physically and psychologically better working out and appreciate that Planet Fitness is in our community.

I come to this gym often in 2 separate locations...
Hagerstown has a little bit more machines to offer and a new black card spa.. Martinsburg gym feels like a family the vibes are great at both gyms, the vibes help me push myself to higher qualities.. I highly recommend planet fitness they offer a club membership discount to new members for 1 dollar down if you get a referral from a member. They also have showers and great tanning beds, also there is a hydro massage chair which I love to relax in

The Air conditioner has been broken for at least a month. It’s unbearably hot and unhealthy to be working out there right now. They charge all of their members a $54 maintenance fee. I was promised two memberships and tanning included with both $10 gym memberships upon signing up for $10/month including tanning which would be $20+tax from a Planet Fitness employee when I was shopping at Tractor Supply, which is right beside The Planet Fitness located in Martinsburg WV but once I went into the gym(which I'm very glad I checked first before paying for two memberships online because this liar and distrustful planet Fitness employee was a manager and he said since I two ppl were signing up that he allow us to pay a one time $20 ÷ tax including tanning for a month initiatially)!!! I felt hurt and sad because Victoria was extremely upset with me. I was unaware that teens had to have an adult here at all times. She was on the phone the whole time making me feel even more uncomfortable because she seemed irritated with me. I’ve been coming here more after a whole year of not coming and still paying my black card membership. I have really bad problems with conic pain, and look forward to getting a massage. I was under the impression that there were options to get between 15-45 minute massage. It’s really empty here. Like 12 people total. She would only give me the minimum time. I decided to do all three. I wish I could get my year of money that went down the drain. Ugh I’ve been dealing with so many physical issues that I just couldn’t deal with it. I’m so stressed out all the time. I’m working on torn rotator cuff on both arms. It just sucks that I just wanna come relax and do something that can help me and help my body. Anyways, I am a bit sensitive, but it is hard to communicate with someone who is on the phone the whole entire time and being aggravated angry.. Let’s see if I can meditate this one away! lol what happened to good customer service? It’s like no one cares anymore. I’m sure she probably just frustrated that she’s the only one here and there’s people in a line waiting. I mean I come during the work week mostly and there’s like 3 people here. I will just chalk it up to she’s overwhelmed.

Overall, I don't have a problem with the gym, it's a nice place; however, I was quite disappointed yesterday when it was raining and I used one of the gym treadmills for a long distance run. I'm training for a marathon and did not know that the treadmill automatically slows you down for a "cool down" after 60 minutes. I was over 6 miles into a 12 mile run and it really screwed with my rhythm. I had to stop, take note of my mileage, reset the machine, and then start again. Mentally, it's hard enough to run that far when you're in the zone, but having to stop and deal with the treadmill became a real hurdle for me... I got through it though. It would have been nice to see a disclaimer on the machines that warns you of this feature. I was kind of wondering what the timer would do when I noticed it only had minutes and seconds on the display. I thought maybe it would at least go to 99:59. On another note, the calories burned counter tops out at 999 and then stays there 🙄

Recently visited planet fitness in martinsburg on North Queen st, and was rudely interrupted during my workout and demanded to leave because of my attire. Even though I was in correct attire. I would have given zero stars but thats not an option. This gym has went way down hill. It used to be clean the staff was great and now the staff doesn't clean, you can't get Papertowels in the restrooms, and to go use the tanning beds and have to wait, you only get passed over by others that come in behind you. The floor had all kinds of hair and God knows what else all over the place, so when you pick up weights off the floor the floor mess I'd flying when you are trying to lift. The staff sits on the counter as you come in and doesn't do a thing but crossword puzzles or they stand on equipment and talk to others the whole time. Iv been coming here for years and the past couple months have been ridiculous to say the least, it has become an absolute dumpster fire. This used to be a nice friendly gym . Not only is the new equipment upgrade a joke , but new manager is not friendly and seems to have all employs on edge . This place used to be fun and friendly . Some of new equipment seems faulty and ergonomically not designed well . And does not target the proper muscle group like the old equipment did . And they took out equipment that was useful and did not bring it back in or replace it . It’s to crowded they have to much cardio equipment that’s not being used. Wile everyone else waits around to use what they want wile it’s available. And unlike other planet fitness upgrades they did not add in the angle vibra shake red light booth ( witch is amazing ) if the upgrade was actually better like it is in other planet fitness locations , I would have stayed at that gym . Or if they would have left it along and left the good well functioning working equipment that was previously in the gym I would have stayed . But the new up grade is actually a down grade and less options are available . And some replacement equipment is not made well and does not work as well . I don’t know who made the new equipment but they clearly don’t know and or understand how to prolly make work out equipment and machines , cuz these are terrible , and old equipment was much much better made , and worked better . This place is a joke .

Who ever runs this gym does an excellent job. I travel for work so have frequented many planet fitness. I have never seen a gym kept so clean and up-to-date on repairs. I have been in Martinsburg for 6 months and since my time I have noticed the staff are always cleaning and repairs are always completed quickly, even the showers. I have been a frequent member of this location for almost a year. I am not sure what happened, but there was a huge turn over of the people that worked there. The people that previously worked there always greeted people when coming in, and there was always someone at the desk. Now it’s like no one keeps up with the gym floor. It is not maintained as it was or should be either. Both lacking in the paper towel and hand sanitizer department. Trash almost full sometimes. :/ I also don’t see a lot of cleaning happening or sanitizing and I go different times different days. Before I would atleast see previous staff clean and vacuum etc. It’s kinda disappointing.

THEY ARE THE WORSE GYM IN THE AREA!
I canceled my membership last year in October for Medical reasons, they told me that they would freeze the account and then I would need to come in and complete a cancelation. I completed these steps. 6 months later. I get charged a membership and it overdrawn my account. I call the local club ask to speak to a manager who is always "in a meeting and will call me back in a few hours" she never does. I asked for her bosses number and they won't give that number either. And there is no cooperate number you can call either I wouldn't waste your money.

I go to this gym frequently and I love the atmosphere when I come in. I am always greeted with a smile. I have to give a shoutout to Keri. I LOVE Keri who works at the downtown Martinsburg location. She is very attentive and always super friendly with all the guests. She is always on her game at PF. She is very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions/concerns I had about my membership. Ultimately, she is the reason I switched over to the black card membership. Thank you for all your help and assistance!!

Cancel mine and my wife's membership. Been coming for 3 years. First year was in Gaithersburg md. Got here today and they tried to charge me a late fee from 316 days ago like really? Why not stop me before ? Great way to lose a customer. I asked for a manger not here do you have a assistant manager? No like what are you guys running here? It's not the guys fault this is a company thing. Waste my time trying to explain and then it's killing my time to work out. I had my day already planned out. I'm a busy person don't have time to waste. Had the guy all alone. What should be no more than a 5 minute cancelation process took forever because he was the only one working. Had so many ppl coming up to him and had to interrupt the transaction. Now I lost 45 minute ty planet fitness.

Staff are nice place is clean ,but tanning bed 3 needs to be fix13 bulbs blown . Try my best to avoid that bed. Been like this for a month now.

Love this gym, So Clean. Front desk is so nice always willing to answer any questions with a smile. Love the fact that you have tanning beds, please never get rid of them. Can’t wait for the new ones to come in. All in all your gym is fantastic. Great for all ages. A+++++

Planet fitness is great but updating is needed bad. In the women’s bathrooms the toilet seats are wobbly and the usually have 1 of the stalls closed. The black card amenities are not up to date. The massage chairs are old and do not work right. They are gonna have a lot of competition when the new onelife is built.

Been a member off and on for a few years. I have noticed past several weeks many bulbs in the lay down tanning beds are out. I've mentioned it to front desk multiple times. I've also heard several others mention it after they come out from tanning. We are hearing lots of reasons why the bulbs have yet to be replaced. I personally have been told that the bulbs are rather expensive and the location in Martinsburg is planning to upgrade the tanning beds in the next few weeks so the owner didn't see any reason to spend money on new bulbs if beds were being replaced anyhow. I understand that concept, however I'm still being charged for tanning and I'd like to have the bulbs working in the beds! I have the option to use stand up beds, however they get extremely hot for me and I don't prefer them. I've also been advised that the tanning area will most likely not be available for several weeks during the upgrade. I asked them why they would make upgrades in summer when people are tanning for vacations and such. I wasn't really given a good answer. I was however told they reached out to Hagerstown and Winchester locations and they are willing to allow the Martinsburg members to use their tanning facilities while ours are being upgraded. That is nice, But not convenient. Winchester is 26 miles away for me and Hagerstown is 36 miles away (one way) so.....are we getting refunded for the tanning portion of our membership for the time we are unable to tan at OUR gym or are they buying us a tanning membership at another facility locally? Not real happy. I am sure the upgrades will be nice, but that could have been done in winter!

A great place to work out while school is in session. When it's summer they allow teens to come in and wreck the place.

I was in there today while 6 kids came in unsupervised over lifting several machines and dropping the weights straight down. They went from equipment to equipment doing it and not cleaning anything.

It would seem they value potential future customers over current customers. Currently looking for a new gym.

I just started a new Membership today. I ended up getting the Black Card membership. The two staff members were very professional and courteous. I was given a tour of the facility and got a great explanation of all the areas within. I can't wait to start my fitness journey with Planet Fitness.

Edit 4-19-23: One thing I would like to see if they ever remodel is a Sauna Room.
