I’ve given Planet Fitness more than enough chances, and every time I end up disappointed. The Black Card membership is a joke — the “50% off” drinks only apply to water and Gatorade, while the one decent option (Muscle Milk) costs nearly six bucks. Red-light therapy is broken, there’s no scale anywhere, and the so-called amenities amount to a couple of massage chairs, two hydro beds, and some tanning booths. That’s it.

To their credit, the staff are polite and the machines are fine. But people don’t pay a membership just to talk to friendly staff — they pay for quality facilities, and Planet Fitness consistently fails to deliver. This company has had years to improve, and it still feels like the same overpriced, underwhelming experience it was before.

Was in one of the dressing rooms after taking a shower when the black guy with the huge afro that works there started beating on the door with the vacuum handle. I came out and left quickly. Wasn't sure if he would hit me with it. Awful.

Chase Anderson was so friendly at the front desk when I checked in. He smiled and waved and even offered to fill my waterbottle. Then, while I was working out, for about an hour and a half, he was tirelessly mopping the floor and wipping down equipment. This boy deserved a raise. Great job planet fitness!

The Athens Planet Fitness is awful. People just occupy equipment to take selfies. If you plan on working out in the 30 minute room, forget it. Staff will tell you it's okay for people to be in there that aren't doing the 30 minute work out. They just stay on one piece of equipment for the entire 30 minutes. Worst PF I've ever been to.

I was unaware this club has been taking fees out of my checking account for 6 years to the tune of over $100 a year. When I call to try to cancel I am told I have to send a mysterious certified letter or show up in person to cancel. I am currently 900 miles away from the club and will not be home for months. The mysterious certified letter was never explained to me as to what it's supposed to contain, but it seems to me to be a scam. I wouldn't touch this club with a plastic wrapped 10-ft Pole. Enjoy my $900 that you have scammed out of me over 6 years. I plan on litigating this as soon as I get back.

This gym renovated the inside while staying open. Had heavy equipment moving around the machines while I was trying to work out and had to be mindful of them as they weren’t mindful of me. They never cleaned it and let screws, nails, and saw blades laying all over the dusty floor. I saw them yell at members for having their bags with them when the bathrooms were shut down for renovation and they couldn’t store them in their normal lockers. They don’t care about their people. Just care about the bottom dollar. Definitely feels like they’re getting one over on you when you go there.

Great price. Make friends you see day in and day out. Lots of people talking about their experiences. Learn from them. Lots to share: diet, food, protein,recipes. Many people and, for many reasons, are trying to just put our best foot forward and make the most out of every day. As an adult, there is a lot to do just to have fun without getting burnt out. This can become an addiction, but this is one anyone can live with.

I have no complaints. I have had nothing but a great experience so far. I love the equipment. Staff is super friendly. Free in club fitness trainer has really helped me so much. If you are serious about building strength and being healthier he is the one to get you on track! Also I understand sometimes you have to wait on a tanning bed but it’s because so many like to enjoy the extra perks. I don’t mind waiting. $25 is worth just the tanning alone. I priced other tanning local and $70 a month. So for me it’s a WIN. And I feel great! ✅

I recently canceled my Black Card membership. The first few months of my membership, I had the privilege of watching a red bacteria grow around the water fountain. I even saw this red bacteria being talked about on a local Facebook page! Now, with this being said, you'd think that the employees don't clean at all, but you'd be wrong in that assumption. I believe they clean the equipment on a schedule, and they really like keeping to that schedule because while I was using one of the Smith machines, one of the employees started spraying the machine down and cleaning it. In the middle of a set! Overall, I don't recommend this place.

Four years later, still not back to 24/7. This sign apparently means come, sit, and stare at your phone, no one monitors anything. Including the paper towels holders that are more than half empty at this moment. They spent God knows how much on remodeling and no one ever cleaned the ceiling. You can see dust from the floor, it's disgusting. They already had a scissor lift in the middle of the floor for weeks, why not spring for that?

I think it's awesome that they are offering free summer pass to kids until August 31st. Nice way to get them active and also a way to allow parents to do something with their kids to encourage them to get out of the house. I wish I would have known a little earlier on because I have a membership, but I signed my daughter up today. After the 31st you can pay $10 monthly to get them a membership. The employees are always helpful and friendly and I haven't had to wait long for any of the stuff offered. Very clean facility as well.

Planet Fitness is the perfect place for me to help in accomplishing the goals that I have for improving my health. The staff is awesome, and they are always friendly and welcoming and willing to help or answer any questions you may have. Planet Fitness is close to home, and I like how I can go there on my time schedule. I like how everyone works at their own pace, but people are friendly and encouraging to one another. Fat female here...trying her best. It has everything you need and the app is really cool! The app will show you how busy the location is. At most I've seen 25 people there. Lockers inside with no locks. Showers with no towels and toiletries. I've seen people in there with a motorized wheelchair, canes, and crutches. No excuses y'all! You got this!
