Played in the ACB Coal Classic baseball tournament on 720 & 7/21 2025. There are 3 fields are half turf, half grass. The outfield grass wasnt kept and was 8 to 10 inches tall. A line drive died in 5 feet. The bathrooms had no lights and were dirty. No scoreboard! These teams pay premium fees to play here and this is what conditions I witnessed. Could be a wonderful facility for baseball but definitely not on this particular weekend.

This is a fantastic place for outdoor athletics. Everything was well kept. Concessions were not available and were under construction. Would be awesome to see some shady areas for kids and families to cool down between games. We're looking forward to the next tournament!

Lots of parking, great fields. Biggest issue is the fact that there is a correctional facility in the parking lot. Makes me very uncomfortable that criminals are so close to so many children.

Beautiful turf fields. Came for soccer regionals. Some improvements for suggestions:
Nets between soccer fields would be nice. The referee stopped our game three times because the other field's ball was constantly coming on our field. (Very annoying when we are in middle of a great play).
Parking lots need to be paved better (they are half paved, half dirt)
More concession options would also be great. There's not many choices at the concession, so bring your own. There is a place at the end of the field called "The Pitch" , which has some good food options. They also do have lemonade and italian ice vendors, which is nice in the heat!

We visited the sports complex for the East Coast College Showcase soccer tournament and we're very impressed with the facilities. Everything is laid out well and in brand new condition. The wide concrete walkways between the fields make getting around with a wagon or stroller easy, especially on wet days. The soccer fields had covered benches for the teams and the event staff had coolers of water and sports drinks at each field for the teams to use. Parking was also plentiful, but the grass section turned into a muddy mess after some hard rain the first day. Obviously unavoidable and out of the control of the complex staff or organizers.
An absolute gem of a facility that should serve as a model for others around the region.

I don't visit the sports complex but I do go to The Pitch which is the fantastic restaurant in front of the sporting section. They have great food and overlooks the swimming pool. Enter from the front of the building where the parking and picnic area is and nice walking grounds for pets.

Shawnee Sports Complex is a wonderful asset to our community! I attended soccer tournaments in the summer and one as recently as November. The staff anticipated the crowds and made arrangements for overflow parking and restroom availability. We chose to take a break from the cold temperatures amd walked to The Pitch for lunch however, the complex did have a coffee truck available and a couple other food trucks to help feed the large crowds. And lastly very important, the complex is very clean.

$8 admission each day. $64 for a family of four to attend their childβs baseball tournament weekend. After a $450 registration fee and no umpires in the field. Zero shade. A bag of m&ms was $3.00π!

I was with my girlfriend trying to get food and out of curiosity of being hungry we went to the concession stands on the other side of the park after a 5+ minute walk we get there and the workers closed the window right in our face before we could even order before closing time. And refused to take our order RIDICUlOUS!! Giving you guys a one star only because I canβt give you a zero.

An amazing complex with very kind and helpful staff. Love the turf fields and the goals for soccer as they are so easy to move and weight down. They have multiple grass fields and then baseball and softball fields as well. They have the new drop nets down the center walkway of the turf soccer/football fields to help keep the balls on the field. They have actual bathrooms in three locations and when doing large events bring in port-a-johns. They have a new amazing pavilion to help get out of the sun. Lots of parking with multiple gates into the complex once parked. They have concessions with a variety of items you can buy. The Pitch is close by if you want to go purchase a meal.
This complex is a hidden gem in the City of Dunbar!!

We have been part of several soccer events at Shawnee over the last few years. It is a fantastic facility with great, friendly staff !!! As an event organizer itβs a great venue to have for local, state, regional or national events.
Ample parking good central concessions and very easy to get to.
Shawnee Sports Complex has just completed 16 days of hosting the US Youth Soccer East Region Presidents Cup and National Championship Series, hosting over 260 teams from Maine to WV in partnership with Barboursville Soccer Complex and WV Soccer Association. We look forward to continuing our partnership with SSC going forward!!!

Parking and facilities are nice. However, management treats the place like itβs the only facility to host softball/baseball tournaments, which makes it difficult for incoming teams.. There are several other facilities within the state that are more tournament and team friendly that offer more and better fields.. we have been to two tournaments at Shawnee, and both tournaments have been derailed not by the tournament directors or staff but Shawnee Parkβ¦ Personally, wouldnβt recommend it, and will do my best to avoid tournaments at this location in the future..

I love this place! Itβs very clean and spacious; they sell good food and normally have shaved ice which kiddoβs love. Bathrooms are decently clean. Sunset is always beautiful. For as busy as it can get, parking isnβt bad. Overall great atmosphere.

Amazing sports complex and investment in young people and the community! Top notch fields, built in 2019, I heard. I think 8 turf rectangular fields. bleachers and scoreboards for each. All lined for soccer, one or two marked for football. Soccer fields also have lacrosse lines. 4 baseball fields. Outdoor pool and lodge style restaurant with fabulous servers and very tasty and filling pizza at modest prices. Plenty of parking. Nice buildings with clean bathrooms and also portable potties spread around with hand washing stations. We are here for a soccer tournament and have absolutely no complaints!

It is a great sports complex clean beautiful it, there's a park with picnic tables to chill with the kids, there's the Soccer Trap across the street which has soccer equipment and other nice things and the Soccer Trap gives your kids one on one training, etc.

They have created a unique multi-sport complex with a good number of all-turf fields for soccer, football, lacrosse, and baseball. I've been to soccer tournaments all over the mid-Atlantic and Ohio regions, and this is as good or better than any. Ample parking, close proximity to hotels and restaurants in Charleston, and less traffic to fight in larger metro areas.

I have been there several times this fall to watch my grandsons play soccer. It is a wonderful facility. My only suggestion would be more bathrooms toward the back of the field. Long walk for senior citizens.
