My partner and I went to this gym for a few years and it went downhill. The owners are nice enough but we had lots of annoyances. I didn't like the price increases over the years, annoying unsupervised kids, being locked into a contract, other loud obnoxious members always slamming weights (I've left with literal headaches from all the banging), and an overall lack of community. I started to dread going.
I watched lots of people not clean their machines/equipment when they were finished so it felt gross inside.
There are also upgrades that were much needed at the time. The shower heads in the chippewa location leave much to be desired. The women's shower in the EC location didn't even have shower curtains, you just stand there naked with the other ladies who are showering.
The stretching/yoga mats in the basement in chippewa were falling apart. You try to wipe them clean and pieces flake right off. I don't know how they let those mats get to that point but it was icky.
This gym also used paper towels or wipes for their equipment cleaning which wasn't as eco friendly as I prefer.
Over all its for two types of people, body builders and kids that use it as a hangout. If that's your jam you'll fit right in.
As always, to each their own. This is just what I personally experienced.

This gym has a lot to offer & many pros! With that said there's also a lot of cons to take into consideration. I'll start on the positive side;

Pros: Alot of equipment & space! There's many options & you never truly feel cramped.

Esthetically very nice. The facility is clean, well kept & visually very nice.

Many services on site such as tanning & massage!

Lots of supplements from protein to energy drinks, there's a lot of selections.

Lots of storage! There are lots of lockers for your things!

Now the negatives

Cons: MANY inexperienced lifters who SLAM, DROP & abuse the weights! The sound & feel of these children lifting entirely too heavy with no eccentric motion at all can be felt throughout the entire gym on both levels!

Absurdely loud grunting, groaning & moaning. As usually accompanies children practicing unsafe & irresponsible lifting techniques is the over exaggerated noise they belt out. It's INCREDIBLY distracting & unnecessary most of the times.

Mirror posing. The number of times I've experienced children in the downstairs weight room taking their shirts off & posing in front of the mirror is laughably insane. At times I've witnessed four to five boys standing in a row in front of the dumbells with their shirts off flexing, posing & admiring themselves in the most obnoxious of fashion. Often they're spending more time giggling, talking & admiring themselves than actually lifting or putting in work! One boy brings a tripod & camera to photograph himself in the mirrors!!!

With all of this said this is a really nice gym. I do believe it's value is elevated by the lack of competition in the area, though. The cons are unfortunately (for me) so great I do feel I have to deduct two stars.

I called to ask about canceling my membership because I was struggling with motivation, and my mental state was not in a good place. I asked the man who answered the phone what the policy was about canceling and if I was out all of the money. And he asked why and I told him I was not driving with the place and was not really able to make myself go, and he said “well why don’t you just drive on down here and work out right now.” I told him that not everyone is just able to do that and that not everyone is in the right mental state to just get up and do stuff. He then told me that I can talk to the woman about it on Monday. He asked for my name and number and I told him I would call back on Monday and hung up. What he said to me was extremely rude and hurtful and he made me feel guilty and bad about myself for not going to 3D and working out.

Such a friendly atmosphere with a ton of exercise equipment. Tanning beds are available as well. The owner and staff are friendly, down to earth, and always willing to help you out with your workout, form, or health.

I go to this place when I am in town visiting my mother at her senior living facility. It is a complete gym and very nice for such a small town. There is no sauna,hot tub, or even locker room, and there is very limited space for stretching, but there are innumerable machines and free weights and cardio machines. Very accommodating staff.

I temporarily joined 3D while staying in the area for a few months. The staff are very helpful and friendly. 3D has plenty of equipment, and I always felt comfortable working out there. I'd certainly go there again if in the area.

As a regular at big gyms (la and lifetime) I can verify other reviews this place has it all: free weights, assisted machines, cardio equipment and tanning salons. Friendly owner/staff at the front. Reasonably priced and clean. In the heart of town it's a no brainer.

I would give more stars if they were available. I have belonged to 3 other gyms in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls area in the last 15+ years. None of them compare to this gym and it's owner. Scott is a caring and understanding person who takes the time to answer questions and be helpful in any way possible. I've never felt rushed or blown off when seeking answers to questions.
He's had great advise for me when I have been recovering from a severe accident. Other gym's were constantly trying to up sell me on everything imaginable. 3D doesn't operate this way, they offer everything the other gyms in the area offer and more with their hands on approach. I cannot say enough about how great it is to be a member of his gym.

This gym is better than even the gyms I've been to on military bases! They really do have everything. There's multiple dumbbell racks so if one is getting crowded you can go to another one, squat racks, machines for everything, plenty of ellipticals and cardio equipment, areas to do ab training, and literally everything else that should be in a good gym. They also have classes including yoga and spin, and they have private tanning rooms available as well.

Very Comfortable Fitness Center !!!! Lots of Equipment, Free weights, tons of room, 3 floors, 24- hr access, etc....Best bang for your buck in the Chippewa Valley !!!! Optimal Customer Service also !!!! Cant wait to get started...HR ; )
