This is a warning to anyone looking to sign up for a membership, make sure when you sign that you either are ready to pay them for the rest of your life or you make sure to NOT initial where it says "auto-renewal". Payments for the gym are handled by a company called ABC Fitness and they are the worst when it comes to canceling a membership. It is because of this outside company that the gym itself cannot even cancel your membership, so Anytime gets to not take any responsibility. It is absolutely absurd, and my contract is even more lenient than the current one. I moved all the way to Horicon and they still refuse to cancel my membership. I count this against Anytime because they still willingly do business through this awful company and would advise anyone even considering joining this gym to be aware of this.
Update- The response by Anytime only further proves my point. They dont take any responsibility for their business partners actions. I believe that the negative review is justified because dealing with ABC Fitness is a requirement, it is non-optional, to go to any Anytime Fitness. Because of this I believe it is fair to warn anyone interested in this gym about who they will be actually dealing with if they decide to sign up.

If I could give negative stars I would. STAY AWAY from this gym. It is operated ny a shady company called ABC fitness. They charge all sorts of service fees,constant raising of fees. If you miss a payment they will hit you with insane penalties and mire service fees. Then they make ending your membership as hard as possible. You have to physically send a stamped envelope and a written note. If you try to contact them and dispute the bill,you are on hold and then speaking to someone in India that cant do anything to help. Just a real shady company. We have better options in FDL now. Also note how they speak to their members who weren't happy with their membership in the responses here. I am having a difficult time getting my sister's account frozen by this facility due to medical reasons. Even after being told repeatedly that this was taken care of by Jeremy (the manager), I keep getting payment notifications. Most of the communication has been via text message. I wanted to talk face to face but the Jeremy conveniently didn't respond that he was as the facility. He also said talking face to face would not have changed the outcome. You cannot talk to the regional mgr or the owner either. Just to be clear I submitted the medical documentation 10 days from the date I was informed I needed to provide it. It was not weeks. It's all in the text messages.

Absolutely awful, I had got the membership and it was great could use it anytime but when I wanted to cancel it I had called my gym and got a new phone number to call, I had called it and they had said I have to write a letter and send it to an address in order to cancel my membership. I was never informed that when I had gotten the membership and I had explained that to them over then phone. They had taken it back and said I could go into anytime fitness and cancel so I drove over there and the gentleman there was very nice but said I had to call the number again to cancel because he can’t cancel it there. So I had called again and now they had said I have to send an email and wait 5-7 days for a response to the email to cancel my membership. Then after they responded to the email I’ll have to wait 2-3 for my account just to be canceled. Would not recommend for a gym membership. They were very unhelpful.

Anytime fitness offers a 6 month membership, and I get that for the winter months. Everyone is nice, friendly and polite. Plus it is close to my aparment.. an added bonus is that it is quiet, clean and there are T.Vs on the treadmill. Love anytime fitness!!@

I'm giving it a 1 star because it's here, otherwise I'd give 0 stars. Harsh, not at all. I've been to a ton of anytime fitnesses and this is the dirtiest one by far. I don't get disgusted easy and It's disgusting. Hair everywhere tampons in the garbage can no lid. The bathrooms look like they never get cleaned. Sink don't drain right. The person managing this place is obviously a horrible business person. If you want more customers , keep things clean. Do not recommend. I have had multiple gym memberships at various gyms in town and this is one I recommend the least. Cancelling is the biggest hassle, they purposefully make you send a letter to ABC Solutions Inc. that you would like to cancel, instead of having the option to cancel the membership directly at the gym allowing the manager to cancel it right on the iPad they use. Very disappointed in my experience. Can't wait for my membership to be done and this process to be over!

I am not misguided, misinformed, nor the only one having this problem according to other reviews. I called customer service and was told directly that Anytime Fitness gyms chose one of 2 ways to cancel (1. At the gym on the iPad or 2. ABC Financial) This gym in particular has the ABC financial, therefore, making it more difficult to cancel. It's a pain, and a shame that it takes this long of a process to cancel a gym membership. Not happy and still do not recommend this gym to anyone!!. If you are looking for a good gym in town I recommend Legacy Training Labs, a small owned, fantastic gym with all new equipment!

I had a great experience at this club when Linda was managing it, but unfortunately, things went downhill after she left. The owner is now requiring members to pay more for training and sign a new agreement—even after being committed for two years. The biggest issue, though, is the nightmare of canceling a membership.

The club’s policy forces members to mail (not email) a written letter to ABC Financial with a 45-day notice. I mailed mine on February 19th, and after multiple follow-ups, they finally responded on March 11th to confirm my cancellation—nearly a month later. ABC Financial repeatedly told me that this is the owner's requirement, which makes it clear that the process is intentionally difficult to discourage cancellations and keep collecting fees.

I strongly advise against signing up at Anytime Fitness in Fond du Lac, Seymour, or Brookfield, as they are all owned by the same person and have identical cancellation policies. If you're considering joining, be prepared for a major hassle when you try to leave.

The only positive experience I had was with Tyler in Seymour—he genuinely tried to help but was limited by the owner's policies. I'm relieved to be moving on to a gym that values its members and makes canceling a simple, transparent process.

I’ve noticed a pattern of negative reviews being met with defensive responses from the owner, which only reinforces my concerns. Also, the sudden influx of five-star reviews seems suspicious—make of that what you will.

I'm not surprised at the reply, I was waiting for those exact comments. Every reply says we are all friends with the previous manager and she up and quit, but it doesn't talk about how badly she was treated and we saw it at the club, if that what helps you sleep at night instead of realizing you need to fix things, then that's too bad and I wish all your staff good luck.

I've popped into this location a few times while in town for work, and it's been a solid experience each time. The place is clean, the equipment is arranged in a simple, open layout that makes everything easy to access, and I never have to hunt for weights because they are always racked properly. Really enjoy coming everyday. One of the biggest things for me is my busy schedule and being a member has allowed me to workout whenever is convenient for me! Equipment is so outdated. No hot water for months. Heat is a joke. Keep getting told the heat is a building management problem but that’s no answer when the owner himself is aware of the issue and keeps saying it will get fixed when I have the money. The owner never brings in new equipment just puts a bandage on the old equipment. He is not a very good business owner if he can’t update the equipment. Another member broke a set of dumbbells and his answer to replacement was to buy a pair on Amazon that was the cheapest set you have ever seen.This is the MOTHER who also has the same name. I have never worked for Anytime nor would I. I was a member who had personal training at this gym and several times I had to wait for my trainer who yes is my daughter while she was getting yelled at by the owner. I am retired and went to this gym because my daughter recommended.

I had an amazing trainer, Linda. I worked with her for over a year and lost 30 pounds! She quit and the new manager, Jeremy said there was only 9am-noon sessions available, I work until 3:00 so I asked him to cancel the training sessions. The last training session was 1/3/25z When the $40 was taken out again 2 weeks later I decided to cancel the entire membership. I followed the ABC Fitness cancellation policy (45 days)and they told me that the training sessions were never cancelled. I have an email from Jeremy stating the sessions were paid in full and that I would no longer be charged 1/24/25 but I WAS charged AGAIN on 1/27/25. I contacted the regional manager, Tyler and he said the owner said it was a 30 day training session notice but that I would no longer be charged. 2/11/25 they took more money out of my account! This is a complete SCAM gym! I had to cancel my card! Stay away from this place…they are lying or idiots! Either way, I can’t see this place being open for much longer. Everyone I talk to has another story just like this!

Facility is nice however the club manager is far from polite. I was in town for work utilizing my membership during the week, club manager made it a point to make me feel uncomfortable about every day I went. Whether it was a comment or an ugly look. I understand proper gym etiquette and practice it every anytime I visit. Unfortunately I will not revisit this location next time I am in town for work and beware traveling members to do the same.

**BUYER BEWARE** If you want to be stuck in a contract you can’t get out of sign up here. I was willing to pay the $200 cancellation fee to get out early due to an uncomfortable situation at the gym. After contacting them on how to cancel, you have to contact a third party financing company and then write a letter to cancel! Oh and it takes “up to 45 days” while they still take out your payments. I sent the letter in early April and now well after the 45 days I’m still being charged.

When contacting the gym directly I’m told “I am looking at the notations on your account with ABC financial. I show that on April 9 they received a phone call from you stating that you were looking to cancel. They advised to you of the process for canceling was sending that certified letter or letter. I’m not showing that anything was ever received. If you are looking to get the cancellation scheduled, you will need to contact ABC financial at 501–515–5000….keep in mind that we do not handle cancellations in the gym itself. The only way to get those scheduled would be contacting ABC financial.”

Don’t waste your time or money. Equipment is outdated as well as the entire gym. Hope I saved you money and a headache I’m still dealing with. Go to Planet instead you’ll be much happier!

**EDIT TO ADD - they offered to take care of this at the gym AFTER I left this my 1 star review… but wanted another $60 considering this as my 45 day notice. I said I will pay the $199.99 cancellation fee as written in the contract and they said no, they have ‘no record’ of my letter, even though they can see I called on April 9. Why would I call, get the instructions on how to cancel and then not send a letter? I said I’m stopping the autopay and was then told I’ll be sent to collections. All over an extra $60 the owner needed to collect. I’m all for owning up to ending my contract early, but hope you can see the greed and unwillingness from Anytime Fitness and steer clear.

Live in the Madison area (member there)...was on my way from a night in Milwaukee to Appleton, wanted to work out and stopped in late morning on a Saturday...amazed at how kept (as in weights and ropes and equipment are not all over the floors) this location is...and on a Saturday morning so you know there was no staff there to pick up (my local gym is a mess...every day). Plenty of room, plenty of equipment and a nice location. If I'm ever making that trip again would not hesitate to stop in.

Wanted to try on a trial basis. Limited equipment(the machines on the app workouts were nowhere to be seen), people hanging out in front trying to get in, no room to stretch. Decided it wasn't for me. Was rushed through the contract, then the contract was unreadable on the website. I've been a member since May or June of 2022. I started at 315lbs and am now at 275lbs and am 16.3% body fat down. This is all thanks to the amazing staff (beware of my coach Linda, she'd the real deal and pushes you to meet your expectations) who are all awesome. I have been a member of the Fond du Lac Anytime Fitness for about 8 years now, and have watched many improvements happen over the years - making this a very nice gym. Staff is friendly, always clean, and broken equipment gets fixed quickly. I have been to other gyms in Fond du Lac, and always keep my membership here. It is a smaller gym - but they do a lot with the space they have.

My daughter has been a member of this gym for years as she was trying to lose weight. When the new owner took over and she started training with him she begged me to join. I declined. Well in Dec 21 they started these new training packages that were just too good to turn down. I signed up so I could start working on my arm and i am pleased to say that its been working. Linda Marie has recently taken over as manager at the gym and as my trainer. While the gym is small all the members and staff I have met have been so friendly. She has kept the gym clean and a great place to workout at.

Small gym! Contract based so don't expect to cancel at any given time, once you're in, you're in and you have to go through a loophole to cancel when your contract is up.
