The worst gym Iβve ever been to. Randomly charges your account and when you try to cancel they make it as difficult as possible to try and get a few more dollars out of you. I would recommend going to literally ANY other gym over this one.

As a significantly older woman, itβs very important for me to find a gym that welcomes and values EVERY customer. Anytime Fitness coaches are wonderful, paying close attention to the needs of everyone they work with, encouraging hard work and praising extra effort. Iβve been a member for two years and am very happy I found AF!
Two years after my first review, Iβve now been a member for 4 years and still enjoy every visit. Top quality trainers and a wonderful facility are a great combination. Extra points for outstanding care of senior members!

Feb 2025 Update: they do not allow you to cancel your membership in-person. Have to call a call center. Unacceptable. My wife will likely cancel due to this as well. The employee Joseph was very helpful and understanding, but it is still ridiculous the hoops you have to jump through to cancel

All I have to say is don't sign any contracts with these people. They are professional scammers. Even if you have not attended the gym in over two years they will still bill you. They are not people of their word. I was told that I would have a free month trial and if I didn't not continue to go after that 1st month then they discontinued the contract but instead they billed me for a gym I haven't used in over two years. Mind you I didn't even complete my free trial. All the equipment they have, you can get the exact same results for less at home. And if you want to cancel your contract with them they want you to pay at $250 dollar cancellation on top of the monthly payments. Or they want you to provide proof that you live over 30 miles away from a anytime fitness. Moral of the story is they are only trying to make a buck and don't let them pressure you to signing a contract. They will make everything sound all peachy and creams but that's far from the truth.

Iβve been a member of this gym since 2016. I pay for training. At the beginning training was one on one. Then small group (no more then 3) now itβs a free for all, and prices havenβt adapted to fit the changes. Over the last couple years management (Madison office) has never really understood the Platteville club itβs members or itβs local employees. We in this area have less choices for training. AF becomes a family. The rotating door of personal trainers over the last 2 years is ridiculous. Iβm never able to get comfortable with someone, have them understand my goals and help assist those long term goals. I do understand how some trainers arenβt committed long term. With that said, over the years there has been a few trainers who would stick it out long term, but management thinks about $$ and yearly bonuses and sticking money into Boot Camps and not AF. From my understanding the Platteville club has been in the top 5 cash clubs of the owners 36 total. Past area managers and past trainers have always told HR the issues but itβs never heard. What needs to happen to make management understand? HR (M) needs to listen. Stop assuming Platteville operates like the Madison clubs. Stop thinking employees are just a number. Stop thinking members are just a number. Fire Fitness is eating AF Platteville alive. Canceled members have 3 choices. Fire Fitness and Snap Fitness or the cross for gym. Fire has gotten 90% of AF cancellations over the recent months. Darien has to continuously tag team his position to cover training sessions because of managements lack of support to maintain a consistent trainer. Covid is over. People are back and AF needs to get back to full capacity operation. If itβs not in the budget thatβs AFβs issue and it needs to be addressed at the top.
Update: 3/24/22. Zach's response to my review 8 months ago was lip service. Management's ability to manage has not improved. Down to 2 employees who are very new to the gym. Call me again Zach, say the "correct PC" thing to say and forget about it.

I love, love, love the gym and the staff in Platteville. I've been a member and training client here for nearly four years. The trainers and the staff have always been available if I need guidance on food or workouts and it never feels like I'm unwelcome.
However, I have become more and more frustrated with Anytime. The management in Madison seems to be a joke. If something breaks (currently multiple clamps in the showers for the shower heads have been cracked for over a month) it takes weeks for repair guy to show up. There was three weeks this year that we didn't have reliable hot water in the mornings. The small group training equipment in the other gyms (as seen on their company wide Instagram page) is so much newer and more plentiful than what we have in Platteville. It feels like corporate doesn't care about us. That they only care that we keep paying our fees. To add onto it, it seems like headquarters can't do enough to keep their employees happy. There have been a lot of my favorite people in the gym that have left for one reason or another. People don't leave jobs because of their work, they leave because they aren't being supported by their management.
It's a great place to work out and fantastic if you want to meet a revolving door of employees.

Iβve been a training client for years now and Iβve always loved it...but lately weβve been going through trainers so quickly and as a person who struggles with gym anxiety and meeting new people, itβs been rough. I have nothing bad to say about the on site staff or training program - but thereβs gotta be some administrative issues causing this quick turnover. Maybe yβall could try harder to retain the amazing staff you have! A lot of us have been discussing quitting altogether if this keeps happening.
