Find muscles you didn’t know you had!
Find friends you didn’t know you needed!
At The Barre District you will be glad,
To see Your expectations are exceeded.
If you don’t think you belong
you’re definitely wrong.
The classes are twice as rewarding as they are challenging (and they are challenging).
The teachers and patrons are all very nice (and understanding).
My only criticism is selfish in that I wish there was a northside branch so I wasn’t late all the time. But that’s not their fault!
I love the Barre district, you will too.
Come for the muscles, stay for the stickers.

Barre District is my absolute favorite fitness studio! The classes work your whole body- and there are a few different options depending on the impact level you want.
The vibe of the studio is welcoming and positive - you can truly be yourself. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable.
No matter your fitness background, don’t be shy to give it a try! Couldn’t recommend this studio more!

This is such a positive and inclusive space. The instructors are all so friendly and helpful, and everyone who attends a class has always been nice. The workouts are fun (and hard!), and there are always options to adapt to what my body needs at the time. I never feel embarrassed if I need to take a break or do something easier.
The only thing I'll note is that if you're driving, parking can be tricky. Just arrive a little early in case you need to park around the block and you'll be fine!

I enjoyed a great class with Andi while I was in Madison for a few days on vacation. Loved her '80s playlist, and the thigh section at the barre was a burner! I just took their standard barre class, but I hope to make it back on my next trip to try out another one of their formats. They also have a lot of fun retail for sale in the lobby area; I bought two pairs of sticky socks. If you're a fan of barre classes, definitely check out Barre District Madison!

Take it from the girl who has tried it all on the group fitness front….Barre District is the real thing. It’s literally for EVERYONE ….yoga enthusiasts, boot camp folks, runners, bikers, rowers, those getting back into fitness…those who’ve been there a while. Strengthens all the stabilizing muscles while getting great cardio too. My favorite is Barre Interval with Maren. Looking for a studio with a sense of community?? Look no further! Promise you will leave here feeling better than when you came in…mind, body and soul.

I’ve been going to Barre District classes for almost 5 years now and this studio is exactly what I love about barre! Each and every “barretender” instructor is so welcoming, kind, and friendly. The studio is homey and comfy, an environment that gives great energy and support. A true judgement-free zone that you do not see at all studios/gyms. There is a class for everyone, no matter your current level of fitness—everything can provide a challenge or is modifiable! Since doing barre, I have noticed increased overall strength, including abdominal, and better alignment which has resulted in less frequent back pain flareups. This studio has great vibes—I highly recommend it!

Would give 6 stars if I could!!!
First of all, barre is the perfect workout if you’re looking for something that will challenge you but won’t leave you huffing and puffing or feeling defeated. I can do barre most days of the week if I wanted to—it’s very sustainable yet still pushes me every single time!
Second of all, what sets Barre District apart from other studios is the people. The barretenders are all very friendly, welcoming, and adaptable (don’t be afraid to express any concerns or needs to them, they’ll make sure you get what you need out of the class!). I know all the instructors by name, and I love getting to catch up any time I go to class. It’s fun to laugh in class and get through the hard sets together, and I couldn’t be happier to support a local business while doing so. I seriously cannot recommend Barre District enough! I’m so grateful Madison has this very special studio! 💜💛

At Barre District Madison I truly feel like I’m part of a family (and I obviously mean a happy family 😉).
Love the workouts as much as the welcoming, inclusive, warm and happy energy.

I cannot say enough nice things about this studio. I found it when I was brand new to Madison, didn't know anyone, and had never in my life taken an exercise class. Upon crossing the threshold into Barre District Madison, what I found was a real community! The teachers are kind, funny, creative, and motivating. The director of the studio, Margo, reached out to me personally after my first week to see what my experience had been like. She is not only kind but also highly principled, and it shows in the entire way the business is run. It absolutely felt as though I was on a fitness journey with a lot of other cool, kind people. Try this place out for a while and you're sure to have fun, move, and make friends. :)

What a gem! Not only do the owner, Margo, and her fellow instructors (hi Maren!) offer a killer workout set to great tunes — but they really make you feel like part of a community. Thanks to their friendliness and inclusivity, I think anyone would feel welcome (and would enjoy!) working out here.

I love Barre District. I was a little afraid that Barre would be too intimidating for a not so skinny, not so fit person like me, but I have felt nothing but acceptance, even as I modify exercises to what I can handle. I love working on the small muscles that support my joints, even if it's super hard in the moment.
Bonus points for offering an upbeat Thanksgiving class that did not ONCE imply that we were there to "earn" our feast.

This is my favorite place to work out. The instructors are body positive and great at providing modifications if you need them (or telling you how to kick it up a notch if you want that)! You want a good workout? All of the classes provide it and there is something for everyone! You want a great community? You’ll find it here in classes for a cause, fun challenges, and an all are welcome vibe. Just come try it out, first class is free! (Don’t be afraid of Barre Fight—it is approachable but challenging HIIT. I am of a middling fitness level and avoid high impact moves and I still love it! Might be my fav!)

I didn’t know what to expect or how much of a workout I’d get if a ballet barre was involved, but holy cow did this wake up my muscles! You may not be sweating all over the place after barre, but the small strengthening muscle exercises will have your legs shaking and arms ready to give out! Was great for me to improve my lack of flexibility also. There are both men and women in the class so guys shouldn’t be afraid to try it! Not only is it a great workout, but the team of instructors are absolutely wonderful. They are like a little family and ensure everyone from beginner to expert feels welcome. They have cute community building events like barre in the park or a recent anniversary class + brunch with the team, so you really get the opportunity to meet new people.

The instructor is very nice and the class was challenging. It worked out all of my muscles and there were some ballet movements. Which I really liked. It was different from the other classes I tried. I would recommend this studio.

Fantastic place. Friendly teachers, small enough class size where you get some more focused attention, and great welcoming atmosphere. Teachers are all great, but Elly is absolutely amazing and inspiring!!
