the YMCA has been a wonderful asset to my health, especially post hip replacement. The collaboration with Gundersen health PT ,, the follow up program with a personal trainer - the heated pool, plenty of areas to use free weights, bands, sand bags, machines and kettle bells is more than many community YMCA have.

I love the staff and variety of classes offered. Abby's Zumba class, in particular, is a favorite. I do wish, however, that administration were more receptive to client wishes - we've been requesting additional fans in the fitness studios for months, and it seems to go nowhere.

I absolutely love the YMCA! The facilities are always clean and well-maintained, with a wide variety of equipment. What really sets the YMCA apart is its welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. I encountered some issues redeeming the income-based discount, but Will went above and beyond to help me resolve them. He remembered who I was each time I came in to fix and set up my account. His willingness to assist saved me a lot of frustration. Overall, I've had a great experience with their customer service! In addition to the customer service, the financial assistance they offer to ensure that everyone has access to their programs is absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend the YMCA to anyone looking for a supportive and inclusive environment to achieve their health and wellness goals.

I haven't been to the Dahl YMCA in years. The locker rooms are so nice and clean. The pool is big and allows swimming lessons to be spread out unlike the Houser YMCA. Definitely had a great experience here.

I recently visited this Y while in town and couldnβt have asked for a better experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional. A special shoutout to Daniβshe went above and beyond to make me feel right at home. It honestly felt like I had been coming here for years. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made all the difference. The facility was clean, well-equipped, and had a great energy overall. Iβll definitely be back next time Iβm in town!

Today, I dropped an AirPod into the grate on the side of the building walking along the sidewalk. I reported the situation to Garrett. He was very helpful and assured me that he was going to do his best to problem solve a solution in returning the AirPod to me. He told me to continue working out and would find me once he had an answer to whether the AirPod was retrievable or not. A HUGE thank you to Josh, Pat, and Garrett at the La Crosse YMCA as they were able to retrieve it! The staff at this YMCA location is awesome, knowledgeable, and caring. Thank you for all you do!

Okay soβ¦I have been to a zillion gyms in my life, and the YMCA in LaCrosse is one of the best facilities Iβve ever been to. Thereβs so much to do in it. I recommend the Y to basically everyone. The price point is a little high, but you get racquet ball courts, a huge swimming pool, a sauna and steam room, a hot tub, and the fitness center has 12 barbell racks so thereβs usually no waiting unless you go during the busiest hour or two. There are dozens of fitness, dance, and yoga classes to sign up for that are all included with membership. ALSO the locker rooms are super duper nice with private showers and additional private changing rooms. I could keep going. This YMCA is a great one!

Life center is pretty good; except the staff should take a proactive---hands-on, approach to keep people lingering on 1 machine for more than 11 minutes. Of course, they are on their phone and I want to use the machine but don't need conflict. Why are folks so selfish and inconsiderate? MANNERS MAKETH the MAN. There use to be a sign about cell phone use....But not anymore!!

I have been a y member for 5 years. Every time I go in I am not addressed by my first name. The overweight lady with glasses behind the desk wouldn't look for a t shirt for me to purchase. She claimed that they didnt have my size but she didnt even get up to look. I've seen people who are bigger then me with y t-shirts . I've given up even asking anymore because they don't care or are lazy. The front desk people are rude and are always talking to their friends and seem irritated to help members. I was in line and she didn't want to help me with renewing my membership. Now the y is discriminate about how much money you make or have about costs and certain length of a membership. I live with my boyfriend pay my own bills, why do you need to know his income? Do you do this to 2 friends who are living together? As long as you pay the monthly fee it shouldn't be a certain length of a membership instead of a full year. Everyone is not welcome here. Does the y cater to the rich people now?

Pay people a better wage so you have more than 1 person up front! I wanted to let my little toddlers in the kid zone and she was unable to help me, after 15 minutes of kids screaming I left, and on my way out she informed me it was open! Who does that. How long did u wait to tell me. My kids can't understand. I saw you flag someone else down but you could wave or make eye contact with me as a human being to tell me it was open now? I'll never go back so if that was your intent you're welcome. If you are speaking to someone make sure they heard you. Otherwise you are just taking more time away from yourself when you don't effectively communicate.

Unprofessional Worker
Came in 5/19/24 around 2-2:30pm on a Sunday & needed a guest pass for a non member so we proceeded to talk to a African American male employee at the front desk about a getting a guest pass, instantly was met with a βbotheredβ & βCondescendingβ verbiage & asked him a simply question βHey since itβs 2:30 is the day pass cheaper? Since we been here before & they charged us half when it was later during the dayβ he responded βthat has never been a thingβ & the way he was talking to us didnβt seem very professional & he seemed bothered by us even talking to him, especially since Iβve been attending this Facility daily & when I have only had very great customer service from all the employees here at this YMCA until this interaction.

Place has both gone up and down hill simultaneously. The male staff have consistently made me feel creeped out and make me feel unwelcome. Itβs a beautiful facility and seemingly continues to improve but I wouldnβt recommend if youβre a girl or donβt like aggressive Andrew Tate βmanosphereβ vibes. Lol. Front desk staff also unprofessional and rude to two sweet children checking in (man in green shirt, 03/29).

Iβve been a member of the Dahl Family YMCA for a while now and Iβm genuinely impressed with the facilities and services they offer. The highlight for me has always been the pool. Itβs well-maintained and provides a great environment for both serious swimmers and those looking for a relaxing dip.
I did have an isolated negative incident in the pool area, but I must commend the management for their swift and effective resolution. Itβs reassuring to see a team that values member experience so highly.
The gym area has seen significant improvements lately. The quality of machines is top-notch, contributing to a productive workout every time I visit. Additionally, the 24/7 accessibility is an amazing feature, accommodating all schedules and lifestyles.
There are minor issues, such as the occasional misidentification upon entry, but these are minor and donβt detract from the overall positive experience.
However, my one grievance is with the cleanliness of the basketball court. It tends to be too dusty, posing a slipping hazard that could potentially lead to injuries. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the court would greatly enhance safety and enjoyment for everyone who uses it.
Overall, the Dahl Family YMCA is a fantastic facility that I would definitely recommend. Itβs a place where you can feel part of a community while enjoying excellent amenities.

We are out-of-town YMCA members that wanted to use the facility. The women at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. One even gave us a breakfast recommendation and a coupon to go along with it! Everything is very clean and the locker rooms are awesome. I highly recommend this YMCA.

Felt very unsafe around the members and the overall atmosphere of the fitness center. The members are mostly college age boys with very "Andrew Tate" vibes. Don't recommend going here if you are a woman or lgbtq+. The male members made me uncomfortable, couldn't even finish my workout before immediately leaving and going to the RW YMCA in Onalaska. The rest of the building is very nice though.

I pay for a membership at the Y EXCUSIVELY for the sauna, members pay 50-70 a month and when i get to the sauna before work apparently somebody "forgot to reset a timer" meaning the sauna isnt hot and wont be hot for a while. The lifeguard brushed me off as if i dont pay to use these facilities, and whoever they called on the radio did not show up in the 10 minutes i had left before i had to leave for work. I use the sauna to alleviate back pain, so when im told its not on and I get brushed off, it's extremely irritating. If i wanted to lift with no sauna i would have kept my membership to PF. Update: The issue was resolved and management was very helpful afterwards.

Life guards we too busy talking and dancing to watch the pool. Steam room had a used bandage on the floor for both days I was there. Drinking fountains only had warm water. And there were old men shaving in the steam room. Gross place. No one cares or monitor this area.

Update: I made a complaint to the front desk during lessons, but I also contacted the aquatics director directly the next day. Apparently, she saw this post and was pretty upset by the pictures. She said the policy is that the lifeguard needs to be in the chair, so even being on the side and watching isn't good enough. They had a staff meeting this week, so she said she was going to bring it up then, too.
My dad took our other two to lessons on Wed and Thurs and said the lifeguard was in the chair as well. Hopefully, this problem is fixed!
I love the YMCA and the services it provides. But I was blown away at swimming lessons when the lifeguard wasn't even pretending to watch the pool. She was turned completely around chatting with her friend in the hot tub. This negligence is going to lead to a tragic accident. I made a complaint and nothing changed. When I asked other local moms about it, they also shared photos and experiences saying that this has been going on a long while. I wish there was another place to take my kids for swim lessons in the winter!

I just recently joined the YMCA, and so far I have met so many wonderful, and welcoming people. Mel (Melissa), also known as the Food Fairy has shown what a Y employee can do and will do for the community. I am thankful to have met such a great person in just the short amount of time I have joined. The front desk staff has been very wonderful in giving me multiple tours or just answering my many many questions. My three kids adore everyone, and love saying "HI" and receiving a greeting back! When my kids see Mel they know they can enjoy a yummy snack after playing in the Family Fun Center, and afterwards playing in Y watch while I get a work out in. The staff in the Y watch make my children feel happy and excited to walk in the door. They tell me positive stories of their short time. I will 100% recommend the Dahl Y (or any of them really) to everyone. I feel silly I didn't join sooner, because this will be our new family spot to do everything we love. Thanks for all you do for the members and the community!

Not a fan of how every time I come to get my kiddo from swimming I have to walk through the menβs locker room n the shower right next to the GLASS( see through door) n there alway some naked old dudes in there showering and unless Iβm confused I donβt think u r supposed to be naked in there right by a glass door that goes out to the pool. There only response to me is to go through the family or boys changing room n I told them Iβm not trying to end in a room with little naked kids either. Why is it such a big deal for some one just to walk in n get there kid. I mean Iβm already paying for surround care n swim lessons ( full price, some people pay less for rent then I pay for this program.)
