This is easily the best atmosphere for a gym in the entire City of La Crosse. There seems to always be a squat rack/deadlift area available since they have so many of them. I think there is something like 10-12 of them.

If you are a visitor to the city, this is definitely the most unique gym to see too. I'm always looking for unique places like this when I travel to different cities.

These days when everything has the same, soulless look, it's awesome to see places like this that want to stick out and be truly unique.

Nice place and equipment but I am not paying so much for a membership just for the inside to be 80 degrees… it was the same as outside and it gets uncomfortably sweaty in there even before working out. Please don’t be cheap and turn the AC on this makes me think I regret getting a membership here because it is crazy how hot it gets and the fans do nothing. :/

I have been a member here for years. The staff and other members are always friendly, enthusiastic, and hard working. As long as I live in town, I will continue to work out here as well as make new gym friends!

Been going here for about 2 years now. Facility is spacious and has a variety of equipment, along with being cleaned daily. Staff are very helpful as well. Atmosphere is perfect for anyone looking for a quality gym in the area compared to other places.

The lack of maintenance and upkeep was enough for me to give the place up when my membership expired. Too bad because it has nice big windows and enough space to not feel crowded when busy, at least the hours I attended.

Bathroom sinks didn’t work for the longest time. The place hardly ever gets vacuumed. When it does it’s done in segments so it’s never free of dust clumps. Hair and debris in the turf, under all the machines, across the walkways. Another small thing was that the disinfectant bottle sprayers never worked well.

** Following up on response to my review:

I had mentioned cleanliness issues via your wooden comment box at the desk, it went unheeded as did the message left by another member on the white board recently.

The sinks work now, but for the longest time only one of the two was operating (can only speak for the women’s room).

The kind of dust pictured doesn’t accumulate in a week. Your response comes across as trying to save face, because as a former member coming in 3x per week (for the past 2 years) it was easy to observe the accumulation of grime happening for weeks. You did a much better job in 2023, actually saw staff vacuuming. Haven’t seen new staff doing anything but homework or folding towels.

The owner seems so weird and creepy. I was stretching one day and there’s a little mirror right next to the squatting racks in front of the stretching area. I was looking at the mirror from an angle, just looking around and noticed that I could see the owner. It’s honestly so creepy because I’ve checked myself out in front of that thinking it was a mirror, but it’s a two way mirror.

Drank my pre for the 1st time in over a week, I was excited to try this gym for the 1st time. I booked my free 1st visit on their website. The staffed hours say they're staffed from 9:00 - 7:00 on Thursday the day I'm coming in and I show up at 5 pm to have no one let me in the door, no one answer the phone after multiple calls, a full voice mail . Very professional .... I was a gym manager and this is ridiculous to have potential customers sitting outside the gym for their appointment with no way to get in or get in contact with the gym. I'd love to try this gym still and update this review , until then for wasting my time I have to leave 1 star.

I’ve been living in the building above the gym for a couple years and been going to the gym every single day so I feel qualified to leave a good review. This gym sucks. Don’t be fooled by the artsy walls, this gym stinks. The men’s bathroom has one toilet and the lock on it was broke for 11 MONTHS. How is a bathroom lock broke 11 months? Three times now my key has randomly stopped working and I can’t get into the gym. Water falls down from the ceiling a few times a year, there’s never soap in the bathrooms, the employees are always clueless because the turnover for employees is so high. Our landlord Becky has personally told me that the manager of 901 sucks but there nothing they can do about it. The gym has very few weight lifting machines, it’s small, and the glass walls allow all the pedestrians to watch you workout. I’ve belonged to anytime fitness, iron physique, planet fitness, the UWL university gym, and the Dahl YMCA here in La Crosse. All of those gyms are better than this one.

Updated my review from a 5 star to 1 star.
Today I brought a cousin into district 901 to show her the gym because I always had great things to say about it. My husband&myself have been a member for over 2 years now. I brought my rogue Barbell in for my cousin to test out before I gave it to her. After leaving the gym I received a voice-mail being threatened with theft and criminal charges if I did not return a Barbell back to the gym that I "stole" today. I think it's disgusting a business would assume such thing before checking cameras or even doing an easy inventory check. I own a business I know this is complete insanity and suicide for a business to do especially when that member is highly tattooed and as a female had a shaved head(profiling at its finest). I have never felt so belittled before in my life. I do very well for myself and to be treated like this Is so unprofessional&disrespectful. I have not even received an apology. I called back and let them know it was infact my property and that they need to check their cameras because I clearly carried it in today. It is a rogue Bella Barbell with my first and last name on it. It is black. District 901 does not use that Barbell in their facilitiy and do not have a single black barbell. The idea of new management should absolutely be considered especially after many reaching out telling me their bad experiences also.

VERY VERY BAD OWNERS, Brad (one owner) is a very creepy man and stares at girls working out. He also doesn’t care about the cleanliness of the gym by refusing to fix sewage pipe leaking onto equipment (actual human waste). This has happened for over a year now. Workers cycle through the gym very quickly because of bad owners and bad pay. If it weren’t for the health and ownership issues then this gym would be a great spot to workout. You can see sewage dripping onto bench press from ceiling and puddle on the ground below in the photo.

Great gym! Got a 2 week pass since I'm from out of town, the price was perfect for me. The gym seems to be new, not a lot of equipment I'm used to having in my gym, but they had equipment my gym doesn't have. Cool atmosphere, styled with graffiti and fallout characters.

I had to rehabilitate myself from a double hernia surgery and knew that I wouldn't want to commit to a membership, but I needed something for a couple of months they let me come in on a daily pass, very clean lots of room between the machines, brand new machines. a little something for everybody and lots of light I love the windows thank you District 901 I'm back in action!

This gym is great. The layout is amazing and wide spread so there is space to do whatever workout it is that needs to be completed. It has all the highly updated equipment that you could need to perform a exercise. The staff of the gym are inclusive and aren’t afraid to help out if/when needed and has relationships with a lot of members of the gym. It’s well kept and has an amazing aesthetic. This place rocks.
