We started with our son here about 8 years ago and now the entire family is enrolled. I've made it to second degree black belt. Our son and daughter are black belts, too. Ms. Lee and her staff do an excellent job of balancing discipline and fun. This is not a studio where you will be screamed at and pushed to the limits of your physical endurance to become a killing machine. Rather it will teach you control and perseverance with encouragement, physical fitness, and fun. The price isn't cheap but you have the ability to stop for whatever length of time and pick it up again at a later date with no additional cost. Very, very happy with the program.

Pil sung!

J.K. Lee's has been an amazing addition to our family. We work hard in class together with shared goals. The staff are friendly, supportive, and driven to help even the floppiest goofballs learn to focus their minds and bodies. I have tremendous respect for everyone that is part of the dojang and am so glad we found our way there. We can't wait for you to join us.

J.K. Lee's Black Belt Academy is a supportive community where you meet life long friends. This organization focuses on instilling the values respect, discipline, and confidence. I started martial arts with them when I was 7, and am a 26 year old 4th degree black belt now. Without J.K. Lee's Black Belt Academy I wouldn't be the person I am today. I am truly grateful to all of my instructors, but especially Ms. Christine Lee who has always been my mentor. Thank you for everything you do!

So much more than teaching moves. There is a strong focus on family, community, and helping others in addition to learning forms and technique. Mrs. Lee and the rest of the team are fantastic!

It is a great place to learn new skills, meet new people, and get much needed exercise. If you're looking for something fun to do, and you want to challenge yourself, then I recommend it as it is a great experience for self improvement and pushing your limits. It is also something that the whole family can do together to strengthen family ties, or create a bonding experience that will be never be forgotten.

My son started training here about a year and a half ago. He loves learning Taekwondo from amazing coaches and teachers. I was so impressed with the professional and supportive environment, that I also started to train here. Everyone is so kind and truly wants each student to improve. They take extra time to explain new concepts and skills. J.K. Lee also is very supportive of schools and community groups by providing opportunities to these groups to experience what Taekwondo can offer. This is a family run business with multiple locations in the Milwaukee area, but I am biased that the Waukesha location is the best. If you are considering a supportive and positive environment for your child or for yourself, please give J.K. Lee a try. The prices are fair for what is offered, and the skills learned here will last a lifetime.

My daughter's day care would go to JK Lee once a week in the summer and talked about it constantly. When time came for her 5th birthday party, I wanted something very low key because I would have a new born.

I saw a voucher on Groupon called and talked with Melinda who also did their classes. They take care of everything! I even picked up invitations there. The day of the party Melinda greeted kids as they came, had parents complete waivers, and helped people to the party room/where to get ready. We only showed up with cake, snacks, juice, water, and balloons and it was perfect.

The standard party is 90 minutes and all the kids get to break boards. They all had a blast and other parents were asking about how to set up a party too. The only downside was that the cake and present time was REALLY short, I helped my daughter open presents and my sister fed her cake simultaneously. You are able to purchase an additional 30 minutes.

We haven't signed up for classes because classes are pricey and we personally would not use the value, but it was absolutely perfect for a party for up to 30 kids!

My daughter is visiting the area and wants to be able to continue to practice. I called last week and they were willing to work out a deal they had going on for $70 and a tshirt since my daughter already has a uniform and, they would split it up for the weeks that she was visiting. I spoke to the "head of admissions" I cannot recall her name but she said she would be happy to do this for me.
I couldn't set it up that day so I called back a few days later and spoke to the owner who said they would never work out a deal like that. If I wanted to do that I would have to pay $160 and purchase a uniform for $50 since they have to have a uniform with their name on it to practice there... She wouldn't even listen to me about my call I made the week before and made it clear she's the owner and would never work out such a deal. I told her because of her closed mindedness she will be missing out of our money and another local establishment will get it. One would think that they would honor a deal they have online for a child that wants to practice there, not to mention my review of JK Lee would be a lot different. That being said thanks for the offer to the original lady I spoke to. She was a lot more open minded and kind.

40+ years with 6 locations. My son has been a student since he was 5 years old and as of 11 years old he is a cho dan (black belt) on his way for his second international taekwondo competition in Colorado Springs. He would never have gotten this far without the careful and dedicated teachers and support staff at this school. He has made some really close friends outside of school and this experience has been of great help teaching him important life lessons.

Our boys (5 and 9)started attending this school in early April. We can't say enough about Ms. Lee and all the staff at the Waukesha location!! We wanted our kids to learn focus and dedication to something. They needed to know what it really means to EARN something and not have a participation trophy handed to them. This school offers that in a constructive fun manner for the kids. We've never seen them be so focused and dedicated to any craft they've learned. They love it and we love it!!

This business can and will extort you out of your money by simply making you go into a contract that can cost you about 1800 dollars to break. The one red flag that showed up for me, as a former student of JK Lee, was how they offered to us to pay $100 to participate in an exhibition where you can show off your taekwondo skills but we don't get a single dime from performing. We were about to proceed when my sister who I will keep anonymous decided to quit. We offered to just drop my sister's subscription to the school, but they refused to do so, and they requested we pay the aforementioned amount of 1800 dollars to get rid of her subscription. tl;dr This business can make you pay huge sums of hidden fees we were never aware of. I highly suggest you steer away from this business in general, and find a better place to do karate or taekwondo.

This is an EXCELLENT school. The instructors are outstanding in that they are knowledgeable, experienced, caring and excellent with children.

My 8-year-old daughter and I have been attending for ~ 2 years and very much enjoy the time we spend together learning and practicing TKD inside and outside the school.

If you want a TKD school that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, feels like a family, and pushes you mentally/physically…..this is the school for you. Not to mention to get to learn to defend yourself with a powerful martial art!

I am convinced my daughter would not have some of the positive traits she has today if we did not attend this school and continuously work to succeed.

Special thanks to instructors Ms. Lee, Ms. Frank, Mr. Dent and Mr. Reagles.

Joined thanks to my best friend who was taekwondo for a couple years before me. I've always thought martial arts was really cool, but didn't think I'd have the opportunity to get into it myself. I joined about 5 months ago, I'm a green belt now. From day 1 as a white belt, I have felt very welcomed and at ease with everyone in the J.K. Lee community. Each instructor has their own style which keeps things interesting, and the experience has been exactly what I was hoping for when I joined! Definitely don't hold back just because you're not sure if you'll fit in. You'll enjoy it for sure, it refines both physical and mental aspects of your body.

JK Lee Black Belt Academy is hands down the greatest Martial Arts School and program around. We looked at programs everywhere before deciding to attend Jk Lee. I have to say it was the best decision we made. Our son is more focused, and disciplined and has gained confidence in everything he does. We would recommend JK Lee to everyone.

After researching many taekwondo schools and subsequent visits, we chose J. K. Lee's for our then 9 year old son. He immediately loved it and has been training at the Waukesha Dojang for the past 12 years. Throughout his taekwondo career we have watched him grow from a quiet, shy boy, to a confident leader. J K Lee not only teaches the physical aspects of martial arts, they incorporate teachings on all important key life areas for children to include academic, family, community, and leadership skills. Our son is now 21 years old and currently going into his senior year at Marquette University. We attribute his academic success in part to the self discipline he acquired through his martial arts training. J.K. Lee is a martial arts school with great integrity. Their expectation of students to give back to their communities and make a positive difference in the world speaks volumes in this regard. There are no other taekwondo schools like J.K. Lee's Black Belt Academy...they are the real deal!

I have been training in Tae Kwon Do for over 30 year and most of my training has been with JK Lee Black Belt Academy. I started my training in the early 80's with JK Lee and enjoyed it very much. I ended up moving in the 90's and had to start my training with some other Tae Kwon Do schools, but never received the same quality instruction I did from JK Lee's. I moved back in the area in the 2000's and rejoined JK Black Belt Academy and have been with them ever since. I can tell you from experience you will never find a better martial arts school in southeast Wisconsin, which will teach you martial arts, improve your health, and make you a better person then JK Lee's. I would highly recommend checking out the school if you are interested in martial arts...

My kids and I joined JK Lee after looking at 5 other Tae Kwon Do and Karate schools in the area and I am so glad we did. My daughter has finally found something she loves doing and she feels apart of a team. She has developed far beyond what I expected. I am so grateful.

JK Lee as been such a great experience and influence for my kids and myself. You are with people that want to help you excel and achieve your personal goals. My kids have memorized the 10 Home rules and live by them. It is a great way to challenge kids, lead them in achieving a goal and building confidence in a positive way.

My (at the time almost four year old) daughter started at J.K. Lee on the advice of a physical therapist after a major surgery. Dance or martial arts were recommended, and she was bored with dance after just a few lesson, so we decided to try Tae Kwon Do. I was instantly impressed by the atmosphere of the school: extremely friendly, very polite and highly disciplined. The instructors for the children are full of energy, and the head of the Waukesha school, Ms. Lee, often personally instructs students.

After a few months I started training as well. As an adult, the quality of training you get from the school will be proportionate to the effort you put in. If you work your hardest in every class, your physical conditioning and your skills will continuously improve, although the pace will be different for different individuals. Personally, in ten month I have lost twelve pounds and have taken over two inches off my waist line.

Classes are separate for lower and higher belts. There are also special classes for children. Portions of the class are done as a whole, such as stretching, warm-up, cardio and physical conditioning. For other portions of training, the class is broken into small groups of the same belt rank. Each group works with a black belt, so there is plenty of individualized instruction.

Tae Kwon Do is often thought of to be kicking, but at J.K. Lee, there is also extensive work with hand techniques for close-in situations.

Sparring is offered on Friday nights and it is great fun. Protective gear is worn so no one gets hurt. The school also works with an outside expert on self defense with extensive military and police experience. These techniques are covered in class as well as in occasional seminars.

Tae Kown Do has given my daughter strength, balance and coordination after a major surgery. It has returned me to a physical fit condition, reduced my blood pressure and lowered my stress levels. It is a tremendous sport, and J.K. Lee is a great place for children, adults or families to study martial arts.
