Main Street Yoga Center is not just a studio. It is a sanctuary of great energy, a generous comunity, a source of learning and of course plenty of amazing classes, teachers and mentors. Being part of such community for over a year has change my live and my yoga practice. Thank you for caring so much for your students and creating such a safe and unique space in those times.

I had such a great experience at Main Street Yoga! The place was very cute and inviting. I came here with some friends, we all have different levels of yoga abilities, and we all loved it! The class was a great speed. I would recommend!

I’ve walked by this studio, and have heard such great things so I finally decided to check it out for myself! A friend and I signed up for the community class on Saturday. The space is gorgeous! There is something to be said about practicing yoga surrounded by sunlight and plants. The teacher, John, was vibrant and lead a challenging, yet fun class with a dynamite playlist. I can’t wait to go back and try other classes.

I've been practicing yoga in Madison for over 20 years, in a variety of studios, and I'm so happy to have this space. It's warm and inviting, filled with sunshine and plants and the community is friendly and supportive. The roster of instructors and variety of workshops and events keeps me engaged and offers whatever I'm needing in a particular week or day. Kudos to Alex for creating a wonderful sangha for all of us!

I have been practicing yoga with some of the instructors at Main Street Yoga Center for many years now - so much knowledge, positive energy, skill in teaching, and honesty in being. Tonight, I experienced Joan's Sound Restore Yoga class for the first time and I highly recommend it! A rich restorative class, so restful, such lovely and powerful sound. I wish I could have bottled up her 15 minute guided yoga nidra savasana - I was left both vibrating and calm. Ahhhhhh!

Main St. Yoga Studio has become my yoga home. Everything about it is lovely from the instructors to the location to the plants and the vibe within the space. Alex is an amazing teacher, he delivers classes in a way that are accessible to all from beginners to more advanced students. I’ve probably taken well in to the hundreds of classes with Alex over the years (starting with when he was teaching at The Studio) and feel like I learn something new each and every time… whether it’s a new pose or a tweak to an old pose or different takes on breath or words of wisdom… there is always something that I take away from class that I can incorporate into my yoga practice and best of all my daily life. The other instructors are great too, many of done their yoga teacher training with Alex and it shows!

I was very happy with my class. I'm from out of town and was in Madison for a busy long weekend, so my second criteria for finding a class was schedule. My first was a class that wasn't hot or really strenuous, and the Friday class I went to (Sage all level with Kristin Sage) was just right for me.
The class wasn't too big, maybe six other people. We started out with the instructor reading a poem, followed by a gentle warm up. For all that most of the people in the class were probably retired, there were some suggested variations that were very difficult. The class ran over by about twenty minutes. Whenever I practice under a new instructor, I struggle a little with the cues and tempo. I periodically struggled with this class, but the instructor was very good both at elaborating the cues and providing quiet corrections. I enjoyed that the class was not silent--the instructor kept up an almost constant stream of description and encouragement.
The space was airy, with some plants in the corners. If the class had been silent, the construction next door might have been a little disruptive, but it just added a bit of spice to the balance postures.
I hope to be able to make it back next time I am in town.
