Amazing gym! I have been going to Orange Shoe for several years, and the instructors are consistently enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and professional. Phenomenal small group training sessions!

Bryce and Eden know how to tailor each session to the individual while keeping the flow going for the group. They are encouraging and supportive (and sometimes a little brutal), which is just what I need.

I'll admit...when it comes to fitness, I can be kind of a quitter, but the team here is so good that it makes it easy to stick with the classes - and the results are noticable. I love that they are constantly doing their best to keep the sessions fun, challenging and fresh.

And the other folks taking the classes are chill too, which makes a difference!

I have tried many gyms and trainers over the years, I can confidently say the trainers at the University Orange Shoe are the best I have worked with. They listen to your goals and help you work towards them. They have the skill and knowledge to chose exercises that work with your body. That includes working to help overcome an injury or better align your body so that it moves in a balanced way. And they do all of that while being some of the nicest and kindest people, you can count on walking out feeling better physically and mentally then when you walked in.

I worked with Eden at the Orange Shoe location on University Ave, and she was incredibly helpful as a prenatal personal trainer. My goals in working with her were to have a pain-free pregnancy, stay in shape to be able to keep up with my toddler, and prepare my body for an unmedicated birth experience. Eden took my goals very seriously and helped me accomplish all of them. She knew which exercises were best during pregnancy, took into consideration the kinds of activities I was doing with my toddler, and also worked with me to strengthen my pelvic floor, open my hips, and help my baby drop. All of this was particularly beneficial in that it helped me almost completely avoid the SI joint pain I experienced with my first pregnancy. Eden also helped me get back into some movement in my postpartum period once I had been cleared for exercise, and her gentle guidance and kindness made it feel not so intimidating. I would recommend working with Eden at Orange Shoe for prenatal and postnatal fitness training 10/10!

My personal trainer, Eden, is knowledgeable, encouraging, and tailors workouts to my needs. As someone who played competitive golf for many years and came out with an injured back, I was nervous about starting a weight training program. However, the trainers at Orange Shoe are able to guide me through workouts that are highly effective but also protect my back. On a practical note, I really appreciate that the space is always neat, clean, and organized (unlike most gyms!). I joined a few months after having foot surgery and I never felt like I was over my head in classes. I was given modifications and suggestions that helped my strength and balance. I have been working out with Orange Shoe (University Avenue, mostly with Bryce) for around a year now. I wasn’t fit at all when I started, but even in my earlier days, when I was considering myself fit, I had troubles with stairs or going uphill, or simply with standing for a long time. My biggest revelation with Orange Shoe is that these troubles disappeared in a matter of months of exercising with OS (mostly thanks to the glutes workout). Similarly, I always used to have some muscle ache, and always had to ask my wife to massage me. These days that happens only if I skip one or two sessions at OS. Add to this how much better I look, how much better I feel, and it is clear why I find this one my best ‘investments’. I don’t even hate working out anymore!
All the coaches I worked there have finished or are close to graduating in kinesiology. They know what they are doing, and you quickly realize that your movements are hitting the target muscles. My coach also has a lot of interest and experience in physiotherapy, and he helped me several times with some smaller joint or muscle problems. Hey, he even taught me a new method of tying shoelaces, which saved me two pairs of sneakers.

I love the new Orange Shoe on University. With working full time and having a family, I was struggling to commit to exercising regularly. Since I started at Orange Shoe, I have been able to work out 3-4 times per week for several months now. The trainers are fantastic. I've been impressed by their knowledge of physiology, proper technique and the ability to guide and correct me. I feel like I am finally learning how to exercise correctly in a way that maximizes the benefits without injuring myself. What I love most about the personal training and many of the small group classes is that they are offered in 30 minute slots. It's a balanced workout delivered in an efficient way. It is not only easy to fit into my schedule but psychologically, I am much more willing to go because 30 minutes is totally do-able. Now, three months into working out at Orange Shoe, I'm feeling physically and mentally better. My back hurts less, I feel like I am getting stronger and I feel better about myself. I highly recommend it!

The staff at OS are beyond skilled at working with all types of fitness levels.
