The location has made a decent upgrade. The manager is a jerk though. All I want to do is be able to carry my small bag with me while I rotate machines. But if I put it on the floor he can’t handle it. He makes a point to tell me that nothing can be on the floor next to machines. I visit Madison very to this location because it is where I stay when I am in town.
This guy is creepy - I should be able
To have a little bag with my water and books so I can move around with ease.
I should note I am there when it is not crowded and there are hundreds of pieces of equipment nearby not getting anybody’s way whatsoever. He needs to chill out

I travel often and visit many different PF locations. This is far the best I have been to. Its huge with lots of new machines. Never busy. Super clean. My only complaint is there needs to be at least double the amount of sanitation stations. But that is a complaint i have with all PF. Otherwise this is seriously the best location.

We went in and talked to the staff for a few and had a good feeling. So we went home and signed up.
We came in as strangers, became members and are in the process of moving and we are now leaving to a new state with bonus family members.
If you think there is a problem with the staff here, then you are the problem and should take a look in the mirror.
There hasn't been one single staff member that was rude to us in the almost 9 months we have been going

I’ve never had a bad experience with a planet fitness employee. That being said I haven’t had a ton of extra positive experiences either. However, Joy is one of the kindest employees I have met. She always smiles and says hello & even noticed my hair color getting slightly darker. Those types of things go an extra long way on a bad day. This Planet Fitness is attached to the West Towne Mall and one of the best Planet Fitness locations I've ever been to.

The staff here are extremely friendly- they always greet me with a smile.

The facility is spacious, has plenty of guided equipment, free weights, various cardio machines and several areas for stretching and ab workouts.

The facility is extremely clean- workout areas, bathrooms and lockers.

There is plenty of free parking in the mall parking lot.

I have an odd work schedule so I end up at the gym at 2 in the morning. Whoever this kid is you’ve got here at night is the most lovely, friendly night employee I’ve ever seen. He’s on top of everything. He cleans the place top to bottom. He’s always smiling and ready to give me a hydrobed or a tanning booth whenever o need one. Previously I’ve not ever been able to find the night employees but not this kid. Bright eyed and bushy tailed every time. He’s such a breath of fresh air.

This gym is absolutely top-notch! First off, it's super clean you can tell the staff takes real pride in keeping everything spotless, which makes working out here feel even better. The people both the staff and fellow members are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which creates a really positive and motivating atmosphere.

The employees are excellent! The place is very clean!But it's really disappointing as there are only 2 recumbent eliptical and one has been broken for a month. This club has many older clientele that use this piece of equipment and they never can get on the recumbent eliptical because there is not enough of them. There is often 3 people waiting to use that machine. There is plenty of room for planet fitness to put a 3rd recumbent eliptical to better serve their customers. It would be much appreciated.

I go to this Planet Fitness every morning and am happy with everything and everybody except for the need for more machines that are popular with the senior citizens. There are only two machines for seated arm exercise and two seated machines for leg and arm exercise. Frequently one is out of order and repair doesn’t happen for weeks causing us to miss our workout. I hope you will address this problem before clients look for other exercise options.

I actually went in to cancel my membership, based off of my changes to my schedule and work. Michael was amazing, explained everything, still welcomed me in and made the process easy. He greeted several other members by name when they walked in and was an awesome asset to the team. Love the staff, like thenew facility since it moved, would rate higher but the new locations tv's have pretty much ruined cardio days for my friend and I. At the last place we would look for the most entertaining one to do cardio in front of, now the majority of the tv's are all just news and politics. Tonight 8 out of 12 were all the same political news. The gym for us is a place to get away from all that and exercise and now there isn't a place to get away from the non stop political slop.

I’ve had memberships at so many gyms, and this is by fair the best one I’ve ever been to. I started going here in October 2024 and I go regularly in the late evening.

I just genuinely enjoy being here. The staff has always been super warm and friendly to me, and the vibes are great. Everyone is clearly there to get a good workout in and focus on feeling good, and not to flaunt or mess around.

The gym is CLEAN!! It’s impressive. The spray bottles are always full. I always see the staff making rounds and cleaning, even vacuuming the corners of the equipment with a little hand held vacuum one time! I even saw staff dusting the fire extinguishers once. It’s the attention to detail for me.

I’m so happy that I’ve found a gym to enjoy and look forward to. It’s a good place to get away and focus on myself, which is what I’ve been looking for.

I’ve been a member at Planet Fitness for a while now and overall, I enjoy the gym’s clean facilities and welcoming atmosphere. However, I’ve noticed an issue that’s becoming increasingly concerning to me. The cleaning products being used have a very strong chemical smell that often burns my nose during visits. It doesn’t feel healthy for anyone working out in such an environment. I’d appreciate it if the gym could consider switching to less harsh, more natural cleaning solutions that are still effective but easier on the senses.

Additionally, I’d love to see an area for ellipticals that isn’t surrounded by TVs. The constant screen distractions make it hard to stay focused during my workouts, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. I think these small changes could make a big difference in creating a more enjoyable and healthier experience for everyone.

New location: Star total. One star for the awesome showers. One star for the new location. One star for cleanliness. One star for keeping the HIIT circuit machines. One star for the two new massage chairs. Minus 1 star for eliminating the ability to use a step for the HIIT circuit and on wall green/red timer. Minus one star for the super bright lights. We go to locations all over the country and sadden by the corporate decision to eliminate the HIIT circuit. Overall bummed. 3- stars. I might go here anyway if they find somewhere to put two step platforms and can wear sunglasses. Hopefully Verona Rd hasn't dumped their HIIT circuit.

Wow this was the nicest, biggest Planet Fitness I have ever been to! It’s literally a bodybuilder’s dream gym! I spent the weekend visiting family, and drove to this location every morning. Edit: I love how the owner responds and doesn't even acknowledge that it is a problem with this location and the staff at the Mineral Point Road location. In what world does it make sense to complain about the Mineral Point Road store at the Verona Road store?

I have had great service at Verona Road. No one has ever treated me as poorly as they did at the Mineral Point Road location. Clearly, this owner does not care about their clients. As I mentioned in my review below, stay clear of this terrible location.

This location is pretty small and cramped. It's not the best location I've ever been to. The one on Verona Road is much nicer and bigger.

Also, I came in here with my brother as a disabled woman and a caregiver to him. The front desk staff made inappropriate comments to me and did not apologize.

They even had the audacity to come over and watch us like hawks while we exercised. Because they suspected we were up to no good.

I do not recommend this place if you're a type 1 diabetic like me. They assumed I was a druggie and up to no good. I had to go over there and educate them on proper etiquette. And even then, the woman who made the inappropriate comment to me had no response. She didn't care. Didn't care that she had humiliated me or made inappropriate comments.

Perhaps this place is only welcoming if you're not disabled. I don't recommend it. Also, their massage chairs were broken. This location is terrible.

Very disappointing service. Do not start a membership here if you ever intend to cancel your membership, they make it needlessly convoluted to cancel your membership. You’d think that an organization as large as this with a website and app that you sign in to, would allow you to easily cancel your membership at any time with a few simple clicks of your mouse. But no, they don’t want anyone to have that kind of easy way out, they want you trapped in their service. So you have to either go into to a location, or you have to quit by the mail. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT quit through the mail. They’ll claim they never got your letter (or simply disregard that you said you quit this way numerous times when you try to get money back for the extra months that you were needlessly still paying).

At this point, I would like to call out the club manager, Victoria Cichon, I had emailed her explaining how I used to commute between the Dells and Madison and briefly had a membership at Planet Fitness. When I stopped working at my job in Madison, I no longer had a need to drive back and forth to there from the Dells anymore. Being about an hour-long drive away, I wish I could have simply cancelled my membership over the app or online, but that option simply did not exist. So, after looking needlessly deep online, I did find I could still quit by mail. And that’s what I did, I sent my information in, and presumed my membership was cancelled. When I went to log in to the app, I found I couldn’t log in, so I figured that cancelling my membership should have worked.

It was only nearly a year later when I found while looking through bank statements that I was still getting charged monthly at about $20. I was outraged by this, so I drove an hour out of my way in to Madison, talked with the nice man at the desk and in an instant, he was able to actually cancel my membership for real, but he said I still had to talk with someone higher up about getting my money back that I was needlessly charged (we’re talking over $250 total here!). So, I got Victoria’s email, and I contacted her about my dilemma.

First, she failed to understand my issue, thinking that I still had a membership and claiming that I still had to come in and cancel, when I explained I was told I could cancel through the mail, she said, oh you can do that, I asked then why when I did I never got actually cancelled and still kept getting charged. She ignored this question and never addressed it. She did state at one point that, ‘Since you have not visited our gym in the past couple months we may be able to refund three months as a curtsey.’ I said this is disappointing, but if nothing else, I’ll at least take that money back. And then she ghosted me, I never heard from her again, I emailed back a few times for an update and still heard nothing back, and I never even got those month's money back.

If you don’t want to get jerked around, want to keep your money when you cancel your membership, and want a gym where you can easily cancel without a hassle from within their own app or website. Then do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY, it’s an awful scam and you can do so much better. Hell, in the time since I’ve found success at home on a yoga-mat, with a phone app called 30 Day Fitness, while just eating a little less than I had been, I’m now fitter and 50 pounds lighter without having to pay anything extra per month.

UPDATE: Don't be fooled by the followup response. They essentially just asked me to repeat my story via email and then told me they can't do anything, but to try and work with the Club Manager (the same one who briefly talked to me before, promised to get me at least a couple months of my stolen money back; and then just completely disappeared and never talked back to me again any time I tried to reach out again). It's just a circle where nothing gets accomplished, but they project the illusion with responses like what you see here, as if they will help you out and as if they do care; but, spoiler alert: They don't. Seriously, just go anywhere else.
