I'm disappointed and shocked that the new owners are raising rates on existing members, despite the agreement at the time of initial sign-on that rates would not increase for as long as you remain a member. That was one of their selling point at the time that I signed up about 7 years ago and they have honored that promise until now. I'm sure there are other gyms that still have and honor a "no rate increase" policy. Go there. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owners of PAC plan to raise rates on their members every year going forward. There's a bright side -- this policy reversal might thin out the sheer volume of members. There were times when the place was packed and you couldn't even find a parking spot.

I always enjoy going to the gym here, they got everything you might need and more. The PAC daycare is awesome with friendly staff who always welcome my kids with a smile. The indoor swimming pools are filtered twice a year, life guards are always on duty even when the signs says otherwise lol

Apparently rules change depending on who is working and things you were told were allowed when signing up ends up being “sorry every other staff member was just not doing their job correctly and this is the rule now” should have never cancelled my other membership to join here. Private swim lessons for my daughter with special needs is extremely hard to find! EVERY person on staff we encountered was great, helpful and happy to accommodate! Facility is a little dated but the experience makes you forget! Highly recommend for non verbal children!

This place needs to up their membership!!!! All of their gyms are amazing, clean, up to date. The outdoor pool areas are so awesome, fun, family oriented. My son attends the summer camp here & the staff remember him from years prior. The staff is always so cheerful & friendly. I’m so glad they care about their establishment and I would gladly pay more for a membership than they charge. It’s rather cheap for everything you get. Plus the type of people that frequent here are very respectful & pleasant. Parents aren’t letting their kids run wild, not once have I ever had to worry about someone taking off with our pool toys or bullying my kids. Thank you for providing a great place.

Peggy, one of the managers. approved my request to continue my temporary membership and monthly payments due to my family situation. After my return from my last trip, she denied it and accused me of abusing the membership. She claimed that I was taking advantage of the system and humiliated me in public (though she had approved this request). She could have said no your request is not reasonable. I would have understood and paid for the full year. Peggy needs to be more professional and transparent about her management decisions. She told me that she was canceling my original membership and that I now had to pay a HUGE amount of money if I wanted to continue using PAC beyond 2025. I have been a member since 1995. Peggy, you failed as a manager and need to be more professional. That was not a way to treat anyone. Have a great professional career and hopefully you won't mistreat others. Daniela Maria Porro

Amazing establishment! Yoga and mat Pilates are definitely my favorite here but the best part is they offer a child watch so if you are a parent you can actually work out without walking up at 4am while your child is asleep. Definitely recommend! Only thing that would be super nice is if members received guest passes to bring friends. I feel like this would be a good marketing move and would be great for members who would like to bring a sister or grandparent once and a while. Please consider!!

This health club is wonderful, it is very family friendly, the programming is great, and you definitely get what you pay for. They are adding and improving their programming all the time.

Let me address some of the reviews regarding different cultures. When I am here, I see people from all different walks of life, abilities, ethnicities, and colors. This place does not discriminate on the basis of race or other immutable characteristics.

It does have a code of conduct that is enforced equally for all members. This allows the facility to be enjoyable and safe for all patrons and I greatly appreciate that.

I have been a member for 3-4 years now. So many options I feel like I should be using more... I do CrossFit and play basketball while sprinkling in some pickleball and free weights. In the summer my kids enjoy Dolphin's Cove. I'm over 20 minutes away but this gym, the staff, and the friends I have made there make it worth the drive.

After joining for the 3 month swim program, I was unable to continue due to not getting the time slots that worked for me. The GM of the club reached out after I requested a refund and was very friendly and helpful about refunding my outstanding time. I did like the facility but did not like that you could only book lane swim 2 days in advance.

Great gym has tons of things to do, but the staff definitely are bias or borderline racist. whenever I see black kids trying to get healthy with there parents and work out a staff member finds them and enforce rules, but when white kids are working out with parents it seems no staff is around to enforce same rules. I been here 10 years I don’t think one staff member knows my name pretty disappointing, but oh well it’s business I pay for the gym can’t expect them to go above and beyond. I do recommend this place, just has a ton of awkward workers who tend to choose who is worthy of that top tier service. I do think they should have an area for kids and parents to work out it’s some kids that are unhealthy and need to work out and they just young in age.

a certain Assoicate in the pool crew decided to yell at me when I was using the hot tub because I was doing some minor splashes she then decided to kick me and my party out the place and threatened to get the authorities involved because I refused to leave over such a minor altercation such as small water splashes that barely went over an inch and me and my party were the only people in the location if that wasn't power tripping I don't know what was (she also called me broke like the PAC wasn't already charging outrageous prices)

They had to close the outdoor pool because a child pooped in the shallow side of mussles beach, then the lifeguard proceeded to tell people they could go indoor or use the adult pool for the time being since it would take over thirty minutes to clean *which totally makes sense** but then when people proceeded to go into the adult pool an older staff came out and proceeded to tell us we could Not be in the adult pool at the time. Which completely contradicted what the other lifeguard said. So miscommunication was present. They also didn't even clarify why everyone had to get out of the pool which is a bit frustrating also. Maybe have better communication, so people aren't just completely in the dark, and don't direct people to one space then tell them No and go to another. The space is great otherwise, I just was hugely disappointed during this specific visit due to a lack of communication. Not only that but they charge you to use the outdoor pool, and didn't even say they could do a refund or offer discounts for others either. Which is where that biggest dissapointment came in. Especially when your traveling from a different place to experience it.

Visiting my elders here in Sun prairie from out of state. They suggested we take the girls to PAC for a quick swim (80°). I took our 10 year old daughter, 10 month old daughter and 10 year old niece, and checked in as guest, with no need for memberships as we are from out of state. Our total was about 100$..This was just to enter! As the only people swimming were our 10 year Olds! possibly for no more than 2-3 hours. I explained that I were unable to swim, but the rule is you "pay to enter". Price was extreme so i thought id ask about memberships. Just for summer (2 1/2 months) they wanted 521$...The clerk explained that this was a summer price. A bit extreme for my liking. Working in public administration for the last 10 years i know EXACTLY whom this weeds out. I don't know why this surprised me when I noticed through the gates in the parking lot that nobody at the pool looks like me. The facility was literally 100% Caucasians at this time (10am)I did not see one person of color during my visit. I saw 2 mixed kids. And!! As I look at the reviews on this site I see that they too are about 99% Caucasians as well! I would not had appriciated spending my hard earned cash at an establishment that caters to a certain class, & race of people. I did not belong here. If you areof color do not go here. Unless it's evenings for basketball ( stereotypical ) So you won't put brown spots on their pure white sheets during day time hours. They don't even deserve the 1 star I gave.

I absolutely love this gym!!!! Everyone is super kind and helpful. Theres so many different options in the gym as well as far as equipment goes. I love the different pools and things. Very great atmosphere to get your butt in gear! Im also overweight and dont ever feel shame or foolish walking into this establishment.

I originally started coming to PAC regularly in early 2018, as I lived in Sun Prairie/Madison area. My parents actually met at PAC in the 80s when they ended up on a recreational volleyball team together. So, per their recommendation, I decided to try it out. I hired a personal trainer with the goal of learning how to safely weight lift with a trainer who was trauma-informed. The trainer I was assigned was named Tammy, and as far as I know, she is still there. She was absolutely fabulous, and to date, she was the best trainer I've ever had. I had such a great experience, I continued to come to PAC for as long as I lived in the area.

Later that year, I moved out of the state for my fiancé's job. However, my parents, who live 5 minutes from PAC, have me come home to dogsit 4-5 times a year, each time for a week or so at length. While dogsitting, I have loved coming to PAC to weight lift. I used to come approximately 3-4 times each week that I was in Sun Prairie. So I'd just sign up for a week pass. I think they charged around $20-35 for those passes, and it was great!

Post-pandemic, PAC changed their pricing and got rid of week-long passes. Now they offer 2 week passes at $89, or I can pay $20 per individual session. This has been such a letdown for me. I wish they would offer week passes again. I don't understand why they would pass up on the profit that could be made from folks visiting for a week.

As a long term, loyal customer of PAC, I'm really saddened that I have to make the choice to go elsewhere. I have nothing bad to say about the facility itself or the staff. I just do not feel like there is an affordable option available for me anymore. I understand the idea behind marketing two weeks as opposed to one, but in my opinion, it is a decision that backfires completely. Not offering one week passes not only hurts the customer but the business, as well.

Thank you to staff member Paul for helping me this morning. He was very kind and sorry that he couldn't help me. I appreciated that he was understanding about my situation and didn't try to pressure me into anything I wasn't comfortable with. I also appreciated him for checking on a possible accounting issue that he picked up on when I was here last November. I'm not sure why, but my account still showed that my membership was active in the system. So he was going to double-check for me that I hadn't been billed more than I should have been, and he also said he would remove my active status from my account. Usually love the gym, but the fact that a trainer came up to me while I was doing a workout just to kick me off the squat machine is ridiculous. Your client could wait either 10 minutes or go to a different squat machine.

Edit: I left the area for two minutes, came back and they had finished. Easily could have waited until I finished.

PAC has a modern and complete facility...The staff is helpful and friendly..I have had a few trainers over the years and learned a lot about how to use the exercise equipment efficiently and safely. They have about every type of equipment available from the amateur (me) and for sure advanced athletes even I'm sure up to pro if needed..but I blend right in ..The indoor track really helps me avoid backsliding from summer jogging...Pickle ball is a big thing lately..I know a couple of members who really enjoy it...

I love the group classes and the teachers are fun and give different variations for people who want more and people just starting our or recovering from an injury. When I did private coaching to help me improve my dancing and get in better shape, it was worth the money. There is a machine that gives your BMI, muscle ratio and we did it every week, so I could see the changes. I love the pools and whirlpools in the winter and the outdoor pool in the summer. I have been a member for 10 years.

My husband and I are members and for most part staff is very friendly. Although there are a few that act like unless you are a size two and enrolled in all the different fitness classes, you don't matter. I see alot of older people like myself go there and are treated the same way. Not everyone can still be physically fit at any age. They don't know everyone's backstop so don't judge. At least the older people coming in there are trying to stay healthy .

Took my family to dolphins cove this past weekend as a non- member. The gentleman working at the desk was AWESOME, this man deserves a raise! I think his name tag said Row? Anyway, it was really busy that day but he had such a cheerful and welcoming attitude, and took the time to show us around. I had an issue paying on the website and he was right on top of it and was familiar with the situation as soon as we came in. He even let us request a song since apparently he mans the jukebox. There is barely any places to play badminton in the Madison area. So I was thrilled to see "open badminton 7:30-9:30" listed on there website. And just so you know this place is a 40 min drive. So it's the day before I went (December 28th) and I called just to get verification that there is badminton tomorrow at 7:30-9:30. And that's what the person agreed with. So today comes(December 29th) and I really wanted to make sure this is happening so I called around 10:00am to double check thats it's all good for tonight. And they did again tell me it's all good tonight. And that we" can come in and the court will be open and ready to play badminton". So after that my friend and I were all ready to go play badninton.but when we arrived we got a diffrent story. That the " court is all full of people playing basketball and that you will not be playing tonight". I kept calm, said okay and left. So this pretty much ruined my night and I wasted tons of money in gas. This shows how un organised they are and unconsiderate they are to others. This is terrible that they post this stuff on there website but they don't actually do it. And if there is a problem maybe you could post a notice on your website that it won't be happening? And maybe update your employees on what's happening. So they don't tell people false information. So please Sun Prairie Athletic Club, get your stuff together so you don't ruin people's plans. And please reply to this!

It may own the square feet they claim, but 80% is unkept lawns, sticker bushes all over, but there is 2 pots before the main entrance. There is a parking lot the size for Lollapalooza 2021.I am pretty sure I have a disease bc I looked at the pool. The pics on this site are, well I'm guessing, 38 years ago. I know the "Water Park" for sure out dates me and I am older than they have been in business. Keep in mind crowd sourced is other ppls opinions and no one other than vain ppl post reviews, or they are getting something, forced, or never been to a decent Health Club. I am not saying the 24 hr chains in strip malls are inferior in any way. If you read this far... This area has money. SOMEONE BUILD A HEALTH CLUB CLOSE, AT LEAST IN WI, BECAUSE THIS HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL, IF UPDATED 40 YRS AGO AND NOT ADDED THE PARKING LOT WHICH MAKES UP 90% OF THE CLAIMED SQ FOOTAGE. I'D EVEN GIVE THAT TO THIS REVIEW IF THE MASSIVE WASTED SPACE CLEANED AS A PARKING LOT THAT COULD BE AN ENTIRE CONCERT VENUE WAS EVEN A TENTH FULL... EVER.. THAT WAS MY MAIN CONCERN.. Not a member, but wish I was! My family comes to the Madison area multiple times a year for medical appointments and sometimes just a road trip. We see this place from the highway all the time and today we decided to stop. So glad we did! The water park is amazing and so great for little and big kids. They are well staffed with lifeguards and all areas are enclosed with fencing and safety seems to be top priority. My 10-year-old said it was one of the highlights of her summer. Can’t wait to visit again!

It's a great gym with a lot going on. Classes of every type, nice pools, and very involved in the community. My only complaint is that for the very, very high prices they charge the facility is very dated. There are sections that are nice and updated but other places like the lap pool looks straight out of an old high school. For their prices I expect a better quality facility, but I will hand it to them that their classes and variety are second to none.

We love the Prairie Athletic Club! Because of covid we hadn't been there in 14 months, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the renovations that have been done. It's a great place to work out, take classes, or meet friends for a meal or a drink.
