Facility is beautiful and did get a chance to try machines as a guest. However, volleyball open gym needs more organization, a proper facilitator and NEEDS TO BE REGULATED. There are so many levels of play that players will get hurt if someone new is walking on the court.
The amount of times I observed someone collide or almost run into people playing is too many to count and will not be coming back to this location for open gym.

Witnessed sexual harassment! This occurred in the swimming pool area where an older men approached a women several times and she was visually discomfortable. She was cornered by him towards the wall in the open pool area and eventually he slapped her butt. Since last night there was no reaction of the club leadership about this case that has brought to their attention. It was clearly a non-consensual interaction and something that should not be looked the other way by club leadership.

I have been extremely frustrated with the helpfulness of the Princeton club staff over the last few years. After moving from the west side to the east side I have reached out to them multiple times asking them to send me email updates and closures about the east side, but I still continue to only get updates on the west side. They also don't post all of their special events on the website, so I can't know about things like court closures unless I call before I go. They post the closure only a week ahead of time by the front desk which doesn't always fit in my schedule. In addition there have been multiple times I have been told the courts would be open at a certain time after an event the previous night only to drive to the gym and find it is still closed. This happened again this Sunday morning. I called at 630 am and they told me it would be open at 730, 8 at the latest. I arrived to be told it wouldn't be until at least 1030, so now I can't do my planned work out and have wasted part of my morning again. The front desk staff told me that nobody else is available for me to talk to about my concerns and that she is the only one there. I have spoken to east side management in the past and they have told me I can't cancel since I enrolled at west side and thus need to talk to them. West side tells me I can't cancel unless I have a medical reason and that they are sending me their updates via email. Very poor coordination for what is supposed to be a shared membership, that was supposed to be part of the value of the membership. I will be calling again to see if I can cancel after this latest occurrence. Beyond frustrated.
I shared this review with the east side and they again told me they are sorry but can't do anything since I enrolled on west side, again showing the lack of coordination. Not even an attempt to help the situation or talk to me. As I left on Sunday I was given a number to call and left a voicemail, but nobody ever called me back about my concerns! I was told the person would be available at noon. Part of the contract was that there is shared access to all of the Princeton club gyms, but they continue to do this and make it hard for me to use their facilities. No action other than them saying "I'm sorry" has yet been done by them to hold up their end of the contract, but they have no problem taking my money every month. I will repeat here that I want to cancel my membership! Princeton club is not holding up their end of the bargain, and there is no good faith effort to remedy the situation.

They're victim of their own success.
It is a great place to work out, but also can be so busy that you spend more time waiting for equipment than using it. It is also more dedicated to casual lifters, with how many treadmills, etc., they have.
The website also makes it difficult to find their calendars, so you can inadvertently come and end up not being able do the workout you have planned, like swimming laps. And don't even get me started on how the pools seem to somehow be always filled unless you go super early or super late.

I've been a member for 20 years, and things are improving a little bit. This gym is pretty dark and they need to add more lights.
They just remodeled the locker rooms and redid some tile in the pool. They’ve replaced some cable crossover equipment too, but at least half of the equipment is fairly old. I wish they would lease their equipment so it could be replaced much more regularly. The treadmills are heavy duty, but they are getting old and need a refresh which probably means in 3-5 years they will get replaced. They keep fixing things but they let things get pretty bad before they replace things. But things are getting a little better overall. Also the paint colors are navy blue and maroon red and the lights are indirect. So if it’s not sunny out it seems dark and dingy and the paint colors don’t add any energy to the gym. The paint colors really makes it dark. In August of 2025 they actually painted some of the corners of gym white which has brightened those areas. They need to do a lot more of this. I wish they would brighten the place up with some bright paint. It would energize the place. Princeton club Fitchburg has bright paint and lights and it makes a huge difference. The basketball a racquet ball courts are really nice.

The princeton club west is a great club, ruined by its general manager, Peter Gerry. I had an altercation with another man on the basketball courts where we both threw a basketball at each other then we both left. The next day, Peter Gerry, the manager, told me I was banned from the gym. He said the other man was not banned from the gym. He gave me no chance to rectify the situation and when I asked who to complain about him to, he gave me the email to the CEO of the company and then quickly hung up the phone. I called the princeton club again and they blocked my number, probably because Peter Gerry, the general manager of princeton club west, did not want to face the fact that he treated me unfairly.

If you have any chance that you might move, choose any other gym in the area. This one doesn't accommodate if you move out of the area, unless you want to pay their hefty cancelation fee. Their equipment is your average equipment you can find at any gym. The only real amenity is their pool if you actually use it. Most everything else you can find at other gyms in the area.

No women’s center is a bummer because I like East and Fitchburg women’s center. For a more focus and private workout. This gym stinks like fungus the house cleaners don’t clean nothing. I pay my money I’m gonna complain if I want to!

I want to start by saying I genuinely liked the equipment and the facility at Princeton Club. It’s well-maintained, and the front desk staff were always kind and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the way my membership situation was handled completely overshadowed that. I had an injury that kept me from using the gym, and I communicated this clearly to the staff. When I signed up, I was told in person that I could cancel for medical reasons with a doctor’s note. But when the injury actually occurred, I was told something entirely different—that I’d need to be disabled long term, not just have a medical reason. This was never explained up front.
When I raised my concerns, I was met with a dismissive response and an out-of-context quote that supposedly justified their decision. It felt like a lack of transparency, empathy, and basic customer care.
Recovering from an injury is already stressful. To deal with poor communication and zero support from the club made it worse. After reading similar complaints in other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated issue.
I’ve paid for the months that passed, but I will not be freezing or extending my membership. I no longer wish to be part of Princeton Club.

The Princeton Club is a nice gym that tries to squeeze every dollar they can put of their members. I’d only recommend it if you don't plan on moving and don't want to use your guest passes for people who don't live in Madison.
Cons:
-infuriating guest pass policy. They enforce a rule that your guest passes may only be used for local residents. Presumably to try to recruit new members.
-cancellation fee even if moving over 50 miles away (the Anytime Fitness cancellation fee is waived if you move far way)
Pros:
-good variety of equipment including some fairly niche stuff.
-pretty clean.

I’ve been a member of Princeton Club West for several years, but I’m disappointed to share my experience regarding ongoing issues with a janitor in the men’s locker room. Over the past year, I have repeatedly witnessed this employee aggressively slamming locker doors, yelling, and generally creating a hostile and uncomfortable atmosphere for members.
Additionally, I’ve noticed safety concerns when this staff member leaves cleaning equipment unattended on the indoor track while socializing, which poses a hazard to those exercising.
Despite raising these concerns multiple times through email, surveys, and formal complaints (including photos), management’s response has been vague and dismissive. The last communication simply stated the issue would be “handled internally,” with no updates or reassurance given to me.
I sincerely hope Princeton Club takes these matters seriously, as every member deserves a respectful, safe, and professional environment. Without meaningful action, it’s difficult to continue feeling comfortable using the facility.

An excellent gym. Better than the east location. The equipment here feels more modern, there are more offerings like the tennis court, and the space and layout feels a more open and clean.
I gave the east gym a 4/5: great but expensive. The west location does deserve a 5/5 in my opinion, and it is worth the price.

I've been a longtime Princeton Club member, but I recently became a mom and the childcare option has been such a gift! The playroom is a safe, secure and fun environment for my child to be cared for while I get a chance to workout. Plus when you're on a machine with a screen, you can tune in to a live video of the room to check on your little one. There's no additional cost for your child to spend time in the playroom. I'm so thankful the club offers this.

The Princeton club wear has improved from decade ago, however, the membership is still annual and holding members as hostages is still ongoing. Pretty obsolete model due to owners old school mindset. People would be joining more willingly and feel better about their membership if they had flexibility just like any other yoga or Pilates studios offer.
There is a neat shop added with smoothies, meals and the menu. Looks really great. Also selling powders and some treats. Pleasant addition to the facility. Tons of fitness classes to choose from. Overall best you can find in Madison sadly for Madison.

I have been to many gyms in the Madison area, and I can say confidently that Princeton club is the happiest to ignore their members and continue to take their money! After my wife and I were rudely attacked for breaking a “rule” that wasn’t posted (deadlifting off the ground(???)), I followed up about cancelling my membership, since I was asked to leave. Instead of listening to me or trying to find common ground, I was ignored in my request to cancel and again criticized for breaking a non-existent rule. My final response was ignored, and when I blocked them from taking future payments, they underhandedly went to VISA to obtain my payment information. I have since been fraudulently charged over $400! When you sign up for a gym, you want the staff to be aligned in their mission to support your fitness goals and journey. The folks at princeton club are much happier greedily taking your money without your permission. They don’t care about you or your health, just their bottom line. I would give zero stars if I could. A perfect alternative in the area would be Crunch- low rates, some without a contract at all, friendly staff, and all the best equipment. If you value yourself, your time, and your hard-earned money, avoid Princeton club at all costs!

Been coming to Princeton Club for 15 years. I recently moved out of state and came back to visit family. I wanted to go back to Princeton Club for a workout. A GUEST PASS is $20. $20 to spend like an hour there. What a grift. I get charging for a guest pass (which, honestly, most gyms just do for free) but $20. Complete money grab from what felt like a soulless corporation. Super impressive decision by management to nickel and dime people like that.

The facilities are as comprehensive and well maintained as I have ever seen. I’m a swimmer and appreciated the sparklingly clean wet areas and locker room. Overall I had a very bad experience there. I went for the tennis court for the first time and the receptionist Abielle I believe her name was, was very unwelcoming with a bad attitude, when she handed me back my driver license, she literally threw it on the table. I told her to check her attitude.
It was my first time there and she did not even show me where the court was just told me to ‘it’s on the roof’.
I am a coach and I do not want to deal with people’s personal problems when I come to the gym.
The tennis court need nets just like the soccer court. I lost all my balls included the one they let me borrow.
The other staff is the reason I gave a two star. She seems to be new and was just trying to learn her job lol really nice girl. I doubt I will go back there, for the price the charge, the environment was bit negative.

The sauna is almost always overcrowded because it’s too small. There are often people talking LOUDLY with no respect for those who consider the sauna a quiet place to relax. It’s also not uncommon to experience somebody exercising inside the sauna.
Now it’s apparently allowed to listen to music (loud classic rock) on your smartphone speaker and lay across the entire bench even when it’s starting to get full if you’re a boomer and have been going to this club for awhile. No rules for these types of members.
There is a nice indoor track but people using the weight machines seem to not realize it’s an active track and leave weights on the track or just stand in the first lane and in the way of those using the track.
In general, the entire facility feels kind of dirty and dated if you really stop and look around.
This location seems to be poorly maintained and managed.
The lack of response to all the bad reviews here speaks volumes. Aside from cleaning personnel, I never see any staff members actually on the floor observing how bad their members are at following basic rules and common sense. They’re all busy in their offices staring at their phones and computers which you can clearly observe.
Nobody seems to actually care about this place aside from taking your membership fee.

Women, girls, and families are not safe from criminal harassment, photography, video recording or worse at Princeton Club. My daughter and I were criminally harassed and video recorded by three boys, relentlessly, in the Princeton Club pool room. Not only was this situation intensely disturbing and poorly handled by the lone Princeton Club employee present at the Princeton Club west-side facility that evening, but the Princeton Club Vice President and General Manager, Peter Gary, has done nothing about this situation since
These three teen boys began with verbal harassment and continued by video recording us reacting to their harassment in the pool. It took 3 phone calls by me to the front desk and a threat to call the police if Princeton Club did nothing, before Brandon, the only Princeton Club employee on the entire premises, came to the pool room to address the situation, leaving the front desk and the rest of the facility unattended. He asked the boys to leave the pool room (he told me later) and then he walked away himself without making sure his request was honored by the boys. Bolstered by effectively getting away with their criminal behavior the boys continued loitering in the pool room, not using the facilities, instead staying there with no purpose other than to stand around harassing my daughter and I further. My daughter left in tears, in fear of the boys' posting videos and pictures to social media, and I left to inform Princeton Club of their failure to rectify the situation. The boys followed me, continuing their harassment, until they realized I was going to the front desk.
It took a week for the General Manager to even call me about the situation. I emailed him details and then talked to him at length about what occurred. He confirmed to me he saw this in the security footage of the pool room. He promised to investigate and talk to the parents and get back to me. I told Peter I wanted a clear confirmation from the parents through him that the videos and pictures the boys took would not be posted to social media and had been deleted. No phone call, no email, and no written letter have ever arrived from Peter. No contact whatsoever. No follow-up, no assurance about the videos and pictures, no indication that the boys were disciplined.
Women, girls, and families are not safe from criminal harassment, photography, video recording or worse at Princeton Club. Princeton Club does not have adequate staff at its facilities to enforce its own club rules to keep patrons safe, or to address the situation when they are notified of violations of the law or club rules. And Princeton Club's management does not take the resulting problems seriously enough to address them and to learn from past failures to keep their patrons safe.

Upon entry, it was a little puzzling as there was random older equipment (i assume to be replaced) randomly placed in and around the lobby. Kinda cluttered and out of place and also a bit dirty. It was VERY busy, high volume of ppl coming and going. Most of the equipment looked relatively available but was nearing capacity. Very nice open gym concept and overall seemed inviting. And then I met the customer service representative that was the last positive thought I had....
Signed up for their free day pass on their website and received notification that they would grant me the pass after a quick tour After i arrived and signed in, i was told since I didn't have a local address was told I would have to pay the $20 for a guest pass and would not be awarded the free trial pass i had signed up for.
Didn't get a chance to utilize any equipment or facilities, even though I signed the liability waiver and gave all my contact information too them, so I guess I can't give a true rating. But upon first impressions and experience seeing several other gyms, it looks to be another overpriced gym that is over crowded and under cleaned...

Love this gym. It’s a bit more expensive then the usual but there is so many great advantages.
There is sauna, steam rooms, resistant pool and classes (Such a Zumba classes)
Overall cleanliness is amazing in summary a very high end fitness center.

Swimmers- if you enjoy overheating in a hot lap pool that feels like lava while training.... this place is for you! The lap pool is much too warm for serious training. (82+F, much warmer most days, sadly). Despite many attempts to talk to the club, they will not turn down the water temp to appropriate and safe lap swimming temp even though 90% of the time (I did the math) the pool is open, it's used for lap swimming. Unfortunately, it's the only 24/7 pool open in the area, otherwise I'd be going somewhere else. Also-the westside club is a little dirty with no proper personal equipment cleaning means (they took away the towels and spray bottles) and the only way to clean is not environmentally friendly with disposable towelettes. There's many people who leave their weights laying around.

My whole life I was so scared to work out at gyms, and when I started going for the first time almost a year ago to the Princeton Club West it totally changed my entire outlook on fitness, my body, and how it was within my reach to be mentally healthy. I love the clean and well maintained facilities, how friendly the staff are, and how I felt totally comfortable no matter what time or day I went to work out. Thank you so much Princeton Club!

Stopped in while on a quick vacation with my family in hopes of letting my little one get some shots up (basketball), however, between calling and arriving we were given a lot of misinformation. Beyond that, we were treated very poorly by the receptionist this Sunday morning who says her name is Sally. Diversity training would probably benefit this location and it's employees. Went to an outdoor court about 4 minutes away for a great day. Never settle guys. Go where you are valued and your money is appreciated in this capitalistic society. Be well.

I hesitate to promote my own gym because it will get crowded if everyone finds out it’s the best in town. So I’ll keep it a secret. It’s clean, spacious and bright. There are plenty of machines for my fitness level. Classes are great and very high quality.
Only suggestion is to put some treadmills upstairs facing windows. Secondly, some more jump ropes would be nice and perhaps find just a little more BRIGHT space for stretching, warm ups and core work.

Very rude front desk member. We put in the membership request at 7pm and went there at 815pm since we didn’t get any response to our free trial request on their website. The hound lady at front desk very rudely turned us away saying nobody responds after 8pm to emails. Clearly we had submitted the request way before 8pm and I am not sure what she is there for apart from looking at her phone. Didn’t even make eye contact. Horrible customer service!!!

I've talked to several former PC personal trainers and they do not like Peter Geary - the GM of PC (for various reasons - such as low pay, unresponsive to questions they have, unprofessional treatment, and they have to find their own clients). As a member for 8 years - I recently experienced the same bad treatment. Peter was rude and obnoxious and deleted my membership because I took a couple of videos of a big guy hitting swish after swish from beyond the top of the key to pass time while I was waiting for the hydromassage door that remained locked. He was an amazing shooter. Told him I took to send a few to my gf in another country and then deleted. Peter said it was against club rules to take videos and I informed him that I never received any club rules in the 8 years I had been there (and had never broken a rule there even though I never knew about any) - but I would certainly abide by that in the future. I requested the rules and my initial contract from him via EM - and it took him almost 2 weeks to send it to me. Nowhere in my contract did they mention a rules document to reference nor was I informed of any. My promise to him it wouldn't happen again (now that I knew the rule) wasn't good enough for him - and he deleted my membership. I am a veteran and my preferred method of working out for the past 8 years was their pool. The trainers told me Peter was very money oriented - so perhaps he didn't like my discounted rate as a veteran. I had selected my new Medicare plan based on the fact that it had a PC membership so I could use the pool. When he talked to me on the phone he was rude, abrasive, obnoxious and talked over me. Peter uses both trainers and patrons to line his pocket. Please do not support his establishment. FYI - after telling them for 8 years they need to put a rubber non-slip mat near the whirlpool and pool - they never did. So many people slip and fell there. Apparently they didn’t care.

Not sure cause I can't really get anyone to answer my membership questions. Been in building for PT. I sent an email through website about membership... Options No reply. Called and they hung up on me when I asked if they had options less than a year. Didn't even say no. Just disconnected. Pretty rude business. I guess that's a no. I have a disability. And just want to use there walking pool and not the whole facility. Don't know if I can commit to a whole year would really like month month. I'm not complaining about price for a bunch of equipment or classes I won't use but they won't even talk to me. When all I have asked is what are your smallest membership options anything less than a year?
Pretty rude business

Hope this helps you not to make the same mistake as I did by signing up at this gym.
I'm one year into a two year contract and so far:
Staff is rude and unprofessional
Equipment is always in disrepair
Management only sees you as a number and will never have time for you
Prices going up, amenities going down, and quality going down
Defiantly not worth it

The pool area is extremely slippery and dangerous. Me and my friend both fell down and have seen other people and children slipping and falling with multiple people telling us they had the same experience. When we both went to the front desk to asked to fill out a formal complaint, there were no sorry’s, are you Ok just a managers card and as soon as she handed it to us she walked away without saying anything. It seems that they had a good deal on tiles because they use the same tiles everywhere around the whole gym. I would be extremely worrisome for the elderly as well as children using these facilities.

I'm an Express member. I was told that I had a few free access passes to the Regular club as well. When I stopped by the Fitchburg location I was told to come back in about 30 minutes because apparently the person checking me in didn't know anything. It's typical for this place. Poorly trained people beat up sub par facilities, I'm looking elsewhere for my fitness needs.

Not well kept. It's too dirty. The use of space is also strange. Everything is crammed into one square in the middle. Area by the showers is particularly dirty and swimsuit extractor drains onto floor. Machines have never been fully wiped down at any locations. Lots of creepy old dudes in the hot tub all the time. Honestly, very disappointing. Fitchburg is a little better, but machines are still dated and dirty. 👎🏼

Been a member for a few years after they bought Gold's I'm Fitchburg and my membership was transferred. Consistently overcrowded and not enough equipment to complete a full workout without having to wait ages for someone else to be done with what you need. Overpriced even at my discounted rate grandfathered in from Gold's. Found out you can ONLY cancel your membership in the event of
1. Your death
2. Being disabled
3. Moving more than 40 miles away from any branch location, and even then there is a $200-$300 fee
Signed a contract April of 2022 and wound up buying a house across town in January of 2023. I no longer have the time to go to the gym due to my career and commute and I could badly use the funds I'm throwing away for a membership I won't use but they won't let me cancel and I'm forced to continue paying until my contact expires in April of 2024. They should make their cancellation policy (or lack thereof) more transparent to new members

PROS:
- child care during your workouts is included in the membership
- racquetball court usage included in the membership
- workout classes are included in your membership
- Pool (although rather small) & sauna included in membership
- 1 training session per year with a qualified trainer is included in your membership
- Staff is very friendly
CONS:
- The machines are absolutely disgusting. I am pretty positive that they have mold growing in the fans on the treadmills (see pictures I took of two different machines I used). I don't believe it is dust because they are constantly blowing while you are using the treadmill, so the dust should blow out at that time if that's what it was. Additionally, the rest of the machine looks like it has never seen a cleaning rag in its life (see picture I took of gunk)
- For the price, I would expect the machines to be the most up-to-date machines but that is not the case. I have seen both Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness have much better quality when it comes to equipment.
- The price for what you get is absolutely outrageous and in my opinion, not worth it
RECOMMENDATION:
Find a different gym. It looks amazing when you first tour it, but as I found out, things aren't always as they initially appear.

The favoritism is real… yerrr We all agree SALES REPS ARE NOT NEEDED WE NEED THE GYM CLEANED. STAFFED KIDS CLUB. sad to see sick woman working harder then sales reps making more money for the club can’t take a day off because employees bring their sick children to work. Staff is visibly sick. And the Fitchburg location is a full disappointment. I was told on my tour by staff “I don’t pay for my membership here I come in a few day per month and workout for free, I don’t know how much it cost but talk to the guy sitting in that chair” Crunch Fitness is coming with same amenities less money and more employees!

They gave me guest passes that say $20 value. The catch is the guest can only use it once every 12 months, has to be from the area, only from 9-5 on M-F. What’s the point of giving me 5 guest passes? If you want me to recruit someone maybe let them workout with me? Instead turning 3 different people away I brought in. We ended up going to work out elsewhere.
If you’re looking for a place to just lift and exercise then try a different gym. Pricey, old equipment, no sanitizer wipes half the time.
Only got a membership since it’s nearby my apartment but regretting it now and will not be renewing
They do have a sauna, pool, basketball court/volleyball on Sunday. If that’s what you’re looking for could be worth it.

I've been a Princeton Club member for years. I like Princeton Club. However, I really hate how poorly run their west side location can be particularly when it comes to cleaning. One of the reasons I love Princeton Club is because they offer such a wide variety of equipment and facilities, and in particular swimming pools. But the pool area on the west side is consistently disgusting. They don't clean the shower areas. I have complained about this before, and usually they will address the issue one time but then make no systemic changes. The attached photos are from just the other night; you can see there were multiple clumps of hair, dirt, grime, and grease all over the floor. It was disgusting to have to walk through. The Fitchburg location (former Gold's Gym) does a substantially better job cleaning their facilities so I typically go there. I'm giving 2 stars (instead of 1 star) only because the wide variety of facilities (basketball courts, racquetball courts, soccer field, etc.) are great. But their showers and pool area are not hygienic at all. As they are a 24-hour facility, they should be doing a thorough cleaning of the shower areas multiple times throughout the day and night. It seems to me that maybe they get cleaned once a week if you're lucky.

Clean club with pool, sauna, massage beds, roof top athletic turf/fields, basketball courts, group classes and a multitude of cardio and weight lifting equipment. Desk, membership, training and house keeping staff are always friendly and welcoming. The club is large but comfortable. It can be busy during mid afternoon during the week but there is enough stuff to do that don't have to wait for equipment. There are big windows and tvs throughout so there is something for the vast majority of people to watch while exercising. Favorite gym in the area for sure!

As a mom the childcare is more important to me than any other amenity. The girls working there are fabulous and know my kids by name. I’m super comfortable leaving them with them while I workout, and my oldest begs me to go back which is amazing!
As for the gym, I think some of the equipment could be updated, the benches/bars remind me a lot of a gym on a military base we used to use, and that equipment was easily from the 70s.
There’s lots of different areas to exercise which is great and I use the track more than I thought I would.

The staff at check in is extremely rude and never want to be bothered. They have harassed my daughter and ripped her membership card right out of her hand. I assume this has to do with them wanting their meathead members to not be bothered by a teenage girl. I called the manager right away and without knowing the story he sided with the front desk employee. I was blown away. There are no family friendly options when it comes to membership or summer options for teenagers like every other gym in area. The equipment is typically dirty and not cleaned as much as it should be. I would choose another gym. You're paying way more here for less service than other gyms in the area.

This is a review based on two different times that I was a member at the Princeton Club. From 2004 to 2010 I worked out regularly using their free weights, current pool, swimming pool, cardio equipment, basketball court and kid's club. The equipment was sufficient and the employees were nice and I always felt comfortable working out. Until one day I picked up a skin rash on my forearm. I reviewed what exercises I did, and it was clear that the triceps extension machine was the culprit. At that point I had worked out at various gyms for over 20 years and never picked up a fungus, but I guess it was bound to happen. A prescribed anti-fungal cream did the trick. I let my membership go in 2010, worked out a different gym for a few years for a change of pace and then signed back up again in 2019. Old habits die hard. It was noticeabley different. The employees weren't as friendly and the gym floor felt more congested. Unfortunately I picked up a rash again. This time it was on my leg, and I identified a leg machine. In case you're wondering, I'm usually good about cleaning the equipment before and after I use it. But as I've learned, the damp rag that sits on the disinfectant bottle that's been used all day long isn't a good idea and can just spread ick and germs all over the place. As you can imagine, I was quite frustrated, and I contacted them to discontinue my 2 year membership that was paid in advance. I asked them to reimburse me for the time I did not use (which was about one year), and they said no. I have been a business owner for 25+ years and that is not how you take care of your customer.

Are you new in the area and want a fairly priced membership with plenty of value? Then for your own sake do not come to this gym. The cost of a mere three month membership is 250$ and for that price you don't get a towel service, any training sessions, a gym walkthrough, or even helpful service. In signing up for my membership I was made to wait for 35 minutes before a "representative" could help me, this is a gym membership, not a car buying experience. In addition to horrible service and lack of concern for the customer, you can count on downright costly service! Attached is a photo of a personal lock I brought to this gym to keep my valuables safe that I was forced to leave overnight due to floor cleaning in the locker room. When I came to unlock the lock and claim my valuables a mere 15 hours later it had been conveniently cut for me, no more need for a key!! The 24 hour policy didn't apply to me because another member that desperately wanted to use the public locker, when hundreds of others were available, reported the lock and got the final say on destroying my personal property. The lock pictured is a firearm lock and will be costly to replace. Thankfully however, the staff at this gym flat out couldn't have cared less! They didn't offer a temporary replacement lock nor even a "sorry". Needless to say, if you are here in Madison a short time, or even a long time, pick a gym with more services and better value such as anytime fitness or even planet fitness.
