Incoming rant!! Venting my frustration with Razor Sharp Fitness.
I have been trying to get in contact with a certain personal trainer that just started there recently so I can set up training sessions since I've had major changes in my body recently and am still under the care of the plastic surgeon and the pain clinic for my spine issues.
I have left multiple voice mails, sent multiple emails, spoke to someone in the billing department while we were discussing my account. I told her I've not heard from this trainer at all, she said she would message him internally and that is not typical for him to not respond. I thought for sure I would hear from him after that, nope!
I called the gym last week and was told the owner Thomas was in and was transferred to his phone. He did not answer, so I left him a voice mail letting him know I wanted to discuss things that I am not pleased with and to please call me back. You guessed it, I'm still waiting for that call back. 😡
Up until this point, I was happy when I was working with Tyler, but he's no longer there and this new person seemed better trained to be able to handle my new physical limitations and goals.
What has happened to customer service nowadays?
At this point I'm thinking that I'd like to find another gym, but I'm still under agreement with them and it would cost me a lot to break that agreement.
I'm going to try calling Razor Sharp Fitness again this week and see where that gets me. How does a business NOT want my money above my monthly fees they are already getting?? It just baffles me 🤔

Went to Razor Sharp today to inquire about silver sneakers program, only to find out it would cost way more for me to attend these classes for membership. The lowest cost of membership does not cover the time that the silver sneakers program is in session. Too bad they just don't have a special $10.00 per month just so seniors can go and work out. Not very happy about this. Also went with friends who were not very happy about this. I guess silver sneakers is not in my future unless they offer the $10.00 special for us seniors!

If it’s not staffed and your a third shift type of workout person or a early bird morning workout person such as myself, this is not the place
All the perks you pay extra for are not available until the staff or owner opens those parts of the gym

No place to stretch out privately

They lock the sauna and locker rooms as well when it’s outside of staffed hours
Like really? How can you lock the dang showers and all the stuff that is paid for extra

Don’t pay for “razor room” as those are apart of the perks I was mentioning and only available when the gym is staffed

The best thing about the gym is they offer to make you shakes for about 6$ a pop which saves the time and convenience from DIY

Other then that I am telling you brutally honest to go to another gym and don’t get locked in as I did for a year
No wonder they do a year commitment
People must have saw and felt how I did and tried to cancel
Go to another gym even planet fitness at this point will beat them

They also have tanning but it’s “down”
This places makes 45$ a head and over 200 people go here and they can’t fix tanning?? 🤦‍♂️

I am counting the days down to this year being over and it couldn’t be going any slower

I’ve emailed through their website and left messages on the phone number provided multiple times to try and speak with someone regarding a corporate membership. No one has ever called back or responded to the messages. I attempted to stop by on my way home one day to try and speak with someone, waited for 30+ minutes, and was then told membership was busy and that I should call tomorrow. This location is really convenient for me and I was looking forward to signing up for a membership even though this fitness center is on the more expensive end, but I’m just going to sign up somewhere else. Pretty disappointing. Front desk worker was very kind however.

Decent gym. I'm disappointed that they limited day passes to once every six months. As someone that lives out of state but visits family here occasionally, I don't need a membership but am happy to pay for a day pass a couple times.

The membership manager was quite rude about it, and said it was to prevent me from "abusing" the day passes. By visiting infrequently and paying full price for it?

I'll just go to YMCA instead where I'm typically welcomed warmly to a larger facility.

I was an out of town guest traveling for work, and although there is nothing mentioned on the website about a day pass, the front desk staff was very happy to accommodate. They were really friendly and gave suggestions about the area to my friends and I. I thought the gym facility was very well maintained and I really enjoyed that studio area that I could lift in that was not as crowded. Smoothie place was hoppin, I got the mint chocolate chip one. Only thing is I wish I could have used the turf area, and the floors were super slippery in the women's locker room. I might suggest some big rubber mats in the main areas to prevent falls

Place is absolutely a great place to exercise and build a better you. Lots of machines to use, decent amount of treadmills and bikes, a dumbbell room, a small pool to do swimming laps. Small locker room with showers with a small whirlpool including a sauna and steam room to unwind and destress yourself. They also have some classes for anyone, a huge gym to play basketball or other activities. Also an inside running track with some space in the middle to do extra workouts. This Fitness Center has all the stuff you need to get fit. It gets kind of overwhelming at certain times and it is a bit pricey, but I'm not complaining.

Top notch equipment, friendly staff that always greet you sometimes by name & acknowledge you when you're leaving. Nice clean atmosphere without the riff-raff if you prefer an adults only facility. Only drawback is limited parking & on weekends lockerooms close too early (whirlpool, sauna, etc) because of "staffing" which is my favorite part of my post workout but appreciate the 24/7 availability. I went to cancel my membership because the drive was just too much. When I called in Rochelle the lady I spoke to was very rude in a dismissive way. She told me I signed a 12 month contract (which I was never told I was agreeing to). I responded saying “I was never told I was signing up for a year”. She said “well you signed it”. I had to pay a joining fee and now they want me to pay to cancel my membership. Gyms don’t do contracts anymore.

Anyway, I just here to say the customer service is terrible! I’ll gladly pay to cancel.

When you walk into Razor sharp There are three things you’ll notice. there isn’t a competitive enviroment and everyone seems very focused on their own thing, it feels ridiculously clean, and the free weights are Usually open for use. The pool they have is AMAZING. The temperature is great and it’s very big and spacious. They’ve got a basket ball court, ping pong table, indoor track, and a sauna location that is a very decent size. It’s an over all great gym to be at.

I love this gym!! I’ve switched between Erie street and Washington Ave & both are excellent. The cleanliness is the biggest + for me. I hate dirty gyms & both are very clean!! The administrative staff are always accommodating. The only thing that I wish would be better is personal trainers having more availability. I didn’t need the personal training sesh that came with the new membership because I’m an experienced gym go-Er, but if I hadn’t been I would’ve been a little upset that the PTs didn’t have time for me. But I can overlook it for the awesome facility, cleanliness, and attentiveness of the administrative staff.

Five years ago, our family decided to ditch the satellite dish in lieu of a membership to Razor Sharp Fitness. The mission statement of Razor Sharp Fitness is simple: To enhance the health and fitness of adults and youth living in Racine County through excellent customer service, premier facilities, and innovative programming.

When our family visited Razor Sharp to inquire about a membership, Monica guided us through the process by explaining the policies of the fitness center, giving us a tour and answering any questions we had. Later in the week, I met with personal trainers Ben and Justin to discuss a health issue I was dealing with. Ben and Justin came up with a care plan of how I could improve my health, and assured me that the personal training team was there for me whenever I needed them to be. The employees at Razor Sharp are knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The facility has recently undergone a renovation project. The floor surfaces in the entrance, locker room, pool and hot tub area have been resurfaced. The temperature control system in the pool, and hot tub area have been replaced. The entire center has received a fresh coat of paint, and the furniture within the entryway has been updated.

Overall, our families experience at Razor Sharp Fitness has been a positive one. I give this fitness center an A+!

As a fitness professional, I can honestly say this is one of the best gyms I've been to. The kick start program for new members is a great example of how dedicated the staff is to the success of its members, by understanding members goals,where they are currently, and helping them feel comfortable and confident taking the next steps. They offer a variety of group fitness classes included with membership, which is great for new members who don't know where to start and for those who feel stuck in a fitness rut who want to switch up their routine. They offer a good variety of free weights and machines and I've never had to wait around to use the equipment. Overall the staff does a great job at making everyone feel welcome and enjoy coming to the gym.

I was excited to check this place out. Here's the catch though. The part of the club that makes it worth the high price tag, that is the center area of the track with multiple deadlifting platforms, squat racks, and overall tons of room and weight, is not usable by normal members. Off limits!

Why make the best selling point of your gym reserved for classes? I asked and in response I was told sorry, that area is for trainers and our crossfit team. No room to budge for experienced lifters.

Without that area this gym is nothing special. All the equipment there you can find at competing gyms for half the cost or cheaper.

They need to reconsider their business plan. If they want to let equipment they invested in sit there without being used-and thereby not providing them any business by drawing lifters in- well I guess that is their choice.

It's a shame that there are simply no gyms in southeast Wisconsin that provide a wide open, weightlifting-powerlifting-crossfit environment that you can train in on your own schedule with your own programming.

Quality is fine, but the fee structures are terrible. It's the most expensive gym in the area, plus you'll get to pay a joining fee and sign an annual contract. Along the way, you'll be nickel and dimed for everything and then if you leave any time except on the contact date, you'll get to pay a leaving fee of $144. For a long time they were the only big, full-service gym in town and they treat their customers that way.

What a joke. Razor sharp told my mother who is almost 70 years of age and in nice shape that she was obese (she 5' 4" and about 125lbs}. No wonder American women have such hang ups. How about trying to help anyone get a little more exercise and eat smaller portions. At this establishment apparently it is all or nothig which is the down fall of our society. I would never recommend this business to ANYONE.
