I have to say Jamie has to be the best yoga instructor I have ever had. She is very detailed and very easy to follow and keeps it fun at the same time. Highly Recommend trying any class she is doing.

Drove through La Crosse on our way to South Dakota and dropped in for a class with Heather. Was an amazing class and everyone was so welcoming and kind! Thanks so much for having us. Would recommend this studio to anyone!!

I had a wonderful first time experience here this morning. Beautiful studio, great hospitality, and Jen was a fantastic class lead. I live in Minneapolis but will definitely be back here πŸ’•

I feel very welcome as a newbie yogi at Root Down. The hot room makes it fun and challenging and I'm really rejuvenated after each session. Going to keep going back!

Good mixture of classes. I really enjoy their yin yoga; it’s effective at releasing pent-up stress.

I absolutely love this place. All of the instructors are amazing and make you feel welcome no matter where you are at in your yoga journey. I would highly recommend this place. They have great deals for introductory packages as well as for other levels of membership/packages. I started out with the 30 day, upgraded to the 5 pack, and most recently purchased a 20 pack with a company wellness incentive. Moral of the story... just give them a try. πŸ˜‰

Root Down yoga is by far the best yoga studio around. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and every class I've done, I feel challenged but rejuvenated at the same time. I was always someone who said they would never get into yoga, but after going to a couple classes, I was hooked. I would recommend Root Down to anyone - give it a try today! Plus they have awesome merch πŸ˜‰

Avis has always been so kind to me every time I go in, and the teachers are #1! Best yoga in La Crosse!

Still requiring masks in-studio and it's basically June.

Breath is the foundation of yoga and this studio chooses to stunt the practice and limit the freedom of choice, even this late in the game when most people have had the option to get vaccinated.

Extremely disappointing.

Great community and great instructors. One of greatest things I miss since Covid. Cant wait to rejoin this community after covid. Miss you all.

I like it, but I wish they would do a regular non-hot class. Hot yoga is kind of a gimmick and some people like it, but there's no real benefit and there is a serious risk of dehydration and it's just completely unnecessary. I understand some people like to sweat in hot yoga because it makes them feel like they are doing something great, but there are better ways to sweat that are much more beneficial.

For years now, I've been practicing at Root Down. I remember coming into my first abc class full of anxiety, trembling even. I was persistent in my practice and urged to come back. I knew change would happen if I didn't give in or give up and they surely never gave in or up on me. I've learned to cope with my chronic pain and anxiety and I've also learned to better breathe through life's ups and downs on and off the mat. I feel supported by the staff and community. I walk up those stairs at times defeated and walk down feeling powerful and strong. Each teacher has their own special gift and offers a different experience. Their engagement in helping others grow is heartwarming and inspiring to me. The meditation classes are enlightening and help with my mindfulness training. I am Learning what my body needs, which is a skill I am determined to do better. I just have to slow down and listen! Walking up those stairs that day is something I will never forget or regret. Highly recommended!

An amazing community of people welcoming all to the practice of yoga and all it's benefits. The staff, the teachers and the "yogis" make this community second to none. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned learner of the practice, you will find safety, knowledge, and openness to exploring how to get the most out of your practice. The physical setting is inviting and impeccably designed with the student in mind. Give it a try, growth will happen!

This is my happy place. I get little time to myself with two small children and this is where I go. I never get judged for having day old hair and frumpy sweat pants on. I don’t remember a time when I’ve left the building anything less than rejuvenated. Love the staff and the studio. Keep up the good work!

I was hooked after my first sweaty class! The physical practice drew me in but I stayed for so many more reasons. The teachers helped me make connections between what happens on my mat to my life off my mat. Each teacher has a unique perspective and I learn something from them all. I was able to take control of my anxiety in a way I hadn't been able to before. Even when I have to be away from the studio because of travel, it's always like coming home again.

I have never done yoga of any type in a class setting. I was extremely nervous to go, but I signed up for the free class anyway and I cannot say enough about how great my experience was! I felt very comfortable and welcome! I left feeling so good and at peace the rest of my day was amazing! I will be going back soon!

I tried the free introductory class, and immediately signed up for the $30 for 30 day offer. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Root Down. The first class I went to, Amber, the instructor, came up to me after class to ask if I had any questions or concerns, and welcome me to class. I've gone 5x/week since signing up initially, and I am feeling wonderful changes in my physical and mental health. The other instructors are great too; Nick took the time to show me how to modify a pose (for the screws in my left knee), to make me feel more comfortable. The level of compassion and caring is so evident; it truly feels like you are part of a family when you come to class. If you're a beginner like myself, or a seasoned yogi, you are welcome.

Went for a Karma yoga class only once. It was nice to see many other male yoga practitioners, the male owner seemed sincerely interested in helping others explore their practice, and I did not feel unwelcome as a stranger in spite of looking like an odd sort of fellow in my bibs. However, I gotta say I had the most bizarre moment with a female instructor who seemed to attack me while the class was in happy baby for an extended period of time. I got bored so I stretched my shoulders by grabbing my feet and straightening my legs. The woman lept at me and pushed my feet down in what appeared to be an annoyed frustrated panic. I locked my legs in confusion. I think I was even closing my eyes till she tried to jam my feet down. I don't know. Maybe they don't allow the students to make adjustments or play around at all. Maybe the students aren't aware there are different styles of practice and deviation is seen as error necessarily. Maybe I just had an odd moment. I'd go back if I was in the area. It was a karma yoga class. Why so serious?

I was a bit skeptic and scared to try yoga, but Root Down Yoga has a relaxed atmosphere. The classes are meant for all levels of experience to yoga. While you can push yourself, and I generally do,, you are not forced into any pose, and can take more relaxing poses. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, answering questions if asked. With different instructors, you get a different class experience each time, sometimes more challenging than other times, but always fun

Root Down Yoga is great for beginners, advanced, and everyone in-between. Even though the classes are set-up as a group setting, everyone practices at their own comfort level. I started out with their Absolute Beginner Class, then their Foundations Class to get a feel for some basic poses. The rest I am learning in class as the poses come up. If anyone has questions they are free to ask after the class, otherwise you can β€œwing-it” and do your best and improve with each practice. Not intimidating at all. Thank you!

PLEASE do not go here as a beginner! The instructors are very cold and do not help you with proper form. It's very snobby and since they offer so many hot classes the place has a funky smell. Yoga is a personal journey for many people of varying experiences, and this place does not foster that philosophy. Very disappointed.

This place is inviting and worth while. This is what I consider great power yoga! They focus on the motion, but you can get deeper. Instructors are varied and knowledgeable so you don't get in a rut.

I love everything about Root Down. The people, the instructors, the facilities, the other students, and especially the way it makes me feel. This winter wasteland known as Wisconsin can be so depressing. Root Down cures the winter blues...but is great all year round.
