Smells like a dirty diaper in the treadmill area, floors are so dirty, doesnโt look like it has been swept in the last couple of months!!!! Staff- RUDE. Clean the gym instead of being rude to people.

Medium size gym on Fort McCoy. The pool is open from 6 to 7 Monday to Friday and 6 to 2 on Saturday. The gym is open from 6 to 9, but you can register for 24/7 access. The cardio area is good. The machine area is decent with a good variety. The stretch is good. There are plenty of dumbells. Sauna and hot top. Basketball area as well. Also, a small open fitness area with a punching bag and kettlebells. That area could be larger. But overall, it's a good gym.

Great gym. Unfortunately, some patrons need to learn how to use deodorant. lol this isn't an overseas gym. If you can't whip into shape at this gym with the equipment, they have then you shouldn't be at a gym. 24hr access as well for even less excuses to not go.

This gym has it all, weight machines and free weights, pool, basketball court, Pilate area, treadmills, rowers, elliptical and there is enough there that you're not waiting. State of the art gym with good staff and clean restrooms and changing area.

Super friendly staff and plenty of equipment for the serious gym goer or the casual one. Never had to weight for equipment especially for a treadmill or stairclimber. Been to a few different duty stations now and u have to say this is the best gym out there. They did a great job renovating

It has the basics but is missing a few keys pieces of equipment for my specific routine, but it has like options. Also limited quantities so plan a little longer time line due to waiting for equipment. The gym overall is great size and offers alot of options depending on your workout style and routine. Pool was down for planned maintenance while I was on base, but the area looked nice. The hours posted are for open gym. You can request, and if approved, get access outside normal hours... key words request, approve... the staff at the gym was super nice and helpful. Best time to visit is early morning when all the slackers are still sleeping...

OK gym for a base, really expected it to be better with the size of the base. Several machines were out of order and most equipment could stand to be updated. Nice indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna.

Their website and Google Maps both say they are open until 8pm, but I've gone there at 4:15pm and 5pm and they were closed two days in a row. They're also closed on Sunday when people can actually go to the gym. UPDATE YOUR HOURS.

They don't have a large variety of equipment and the hours are awful. You can get a 24hr pass but even if you do the pool, hottub, sauna, and steam room are still off limits after 7pm during weekdays. 1pm on Saturday! So if you are here for any military reason you probably just won't be able to use them.

Good place to work out and very nice staff; even though the Fitness Center has odd hours, if you are Active Duty and register you can get in to work out 24/7 and that is a real plus. Only down side is outdated equipment.

I am newly stationed here and this is the worst gym I've ever walked into on a military base. The hours do not support a realistic operational environment for a base that runs several schoolhouses. The weekend hours are a joke. What normal gym closes at 2 pm? And closed on Holidays? Staff is very young and friendly which is a positive for this gym. There aren't enough free/open lockers for servicemembers since we get the broken TRANSIT lockers while the kids and families from Tomah and Sparta get the nice lockers that they keep a lock on year round. The equipment is basic and outdated, the yoga mats are stained and filthy with sweat and dirt and dumped on the floor in the very back of the gym. The wipes for the equipment are located on entire opposite sides of the fitness area so you have to walk almost a quarter mile in between sets just to wipe off a bench. That's an exaggeration, but still pretty accurate. They could be located better to be more accessible. The basketballs are old and flat but obviously won't ever be replaced.
A membership out in either Tomah or Sparta is worth the drive. In this case, being a free gym for us isn't a strong selling point.

Actually a one star is generous. In my 30 years of military service I have never seen a gym ran so inefficiently as far as operational hours go. It is great if your not a typical Soldier. Chairborne Soldiers and Civilians will have an easier time. If you are truly here for the Soldier, then please let a leader (not just someone who is in charge) review this.

This facility closes immediately following the normal duty day. My fellow soldiers and I cannot comprehend who this gym is supposed to be facilitating. I have submitted an ICE comment expressing my, and several other soldiers', concerns regarding this matter. I have made the suggestion of keeping the same number of operational hours, only breaking them up between morning and evening to better facilitate soldiers' different scheduling needs. That way, they can alleviate the need to pay mwr employees for more hours. On behalf of all of us that work all day, I look forward to having my submitted comment followed up with some logical reasoning or solutions.
