So this place feels special. I periodically travel from out of state to Sun Prairie. When in town I try to go here everyday. Immediately upon entering, I get a great feeling when welcomed by the front desk (Joan and Brent I believe). Everyone seems happy here and I’ve heard that the leadership at this facility is very good. I was very impressed with the fitness equipment upstairs. I road the bike one day and everything worked. I was able to adjust it and there were no issues in terms of it functioning as designed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to a gym and couldn’t get their bikes to work properly. When I went swimming the lifeguard (Ant, I believe) was the most attentive lifeguard I’ve ever seen. He just kept walking around the pool constantly vigilant. And this was a time with at most 4 adult lap swimmers. I don’t know if this is true, but I heard he’s the new aquatics manager. Makes sense, he was impressive. Hey, show up before noon and you can get a cup of hot tasty coffee. Nice touch particularly on a cold day. Bring your own mugs and prevent some trash (just a thought). I’ve read that the YMCA is one of the top non profit organizations to work for. The staff here really seemed happy. To all the SP YMCA staff…keep up the amazing work. I’ll see you on my next visit! In terms of photos, no one seems excited when your taking photos so I just shared a few.

My son is 2.5 and has been going to the YMCA for daycare since June and he has learned so much. At his previous daycare he was always crying when I would pick him up and dropping him off, When he started at the Y he never wants to leave and is always WANTING to go to school! I am so thankful I decided to put him in the Y! All the Teachers are absolutely amazing and sweet!

Went to the ymca to take my kids swimming today worst experience ever. The swim lady yelled and screamed the whole time even getting in my child face. I will never return when she is there she was so rude and nasty. The man who was in charge was much nicer and calm. The other lady was a screaming siren. Thank the lord she will be on maternity leave soon.

I've worked out at this YMCA for the past 6 years because it's very close to my house. But this summer my debit card associated with the Y was hacked and the bank closed it. I have probably 80 services hooked up to various cards and did not realize this affected my Y account.
I usually don't work out at the Y during the summer, so when I came back this Oct. I was informed that my card on auto pay didn't go through in July. I paid the $30 dollar return fee no problem. Then they told me to "rejoin" it would cost me another $50.
They were unable to wave this $50 fee.
I would think that they would want to retain long term customers since getting new customers is expensive. But exploitive "rejoin" fees are apparently their modus operandi. Such an interesting way to lose $850 a year for a company that is always begging for donations. You had a paying customer and decided adding a $50 tax was a good business plan. I have a home gym. I think I'll just spend my $850 on sometging for that.

They could use some guidance on scheduling rooms for their classes. Overall they are good.

A lot of the programs are great. Facilities are new and shiny. Employees, (small amount, but enough to be significant) however, are highly lacking in their interpersonal skills. Being rude, cold and judgmental when someone shares an important, relevant detail, is hardly the way to keep your business location growing and thriving when word of mouth just spreads and spreads.

Sad to see a location of a business that I love employ idiots.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Options of classes offered are good. It is fun to run on a treadmill and watch kids from the community play basketball at the same time.

Nice and very clean facility! Staff is nicer than the other more expensive places we have been members. Only things that could make it better are a hot tub and racquet ball courts. Maybe they will add them some day. Glad we joined!

Nice y, but if your dropping in and want to lift anything over 135, find someplace else. No squat rack is a big minus. 3D smith machine is a death tap, only rated for 320lbs, then there's an overhead press rack with fixed spotting rails that are too high to squat to depth and you need to walk out a mile. This is an exercise gym.

Beyond the nice weight room and pool, I love the free WerQ dance class and opportunity to try suspension training. The kids love the bouncy castle in the gym and the events with games and snacks.
