This has been my best gym experience for a long time. There is all the right equipment I am looking for, and especially my favorite the manual treadmill and hip thrust isolation machine. The owner Michael Sweeney is such a friendly person and he really cares about keeping up the atmosphere. Plus they are really good at fixing or replacing broken equipment fast which is a huge plus.

Been coming to sweeneys for about 4 years now and what a great gym. The environment is awesome, definitely very welcoming and if you are just looking to keep to yourself and get a workout in it’s great for that as well. The 24/7 access is amazing as well, being able to come in whenever you want and get it done. If you have a chance definitely stop and and meet Mike (owner) or luke (manager) and sign up! Been going here for about a week. I love the easy entry,they give you a little fob too unlock the door and enter and it auto scans you in. It's 24/7 has about everything you need although it does lack a couple key machines but it has a sauna and a good community too make up for it.

Sweeney’s is the perfect gym for you! I’ve been a member for almost three years now and can’t see myself anywhere else. Sweeny’s gym is by far the best privately owned gym in the city. I love this gym! I have been on a life changing journey this past 7 months. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes. I was 415 pounds. I started eating right and lost 130 pounds but was intimidated by gym culture. We joined a big gym and it was terrible! The next week we checked out Sweeny's and made the switch. It's smaller and less busy. No one seems there to judge others or anything. They're all there to become the best them. My wife and I go 6 days a week now and feel we have found a place we can stay for a very long time.

Very easy to get any type of workout in! From Deadlifts to sled pulls, from tire flips to circuit training. Always see trainers coaching up clients and members. Very Clean and well kept. Mike is available and friendly to all members that walk thru the door. The culture of the gym is put in work and have fun doing it. A true no judgement gym! Nothing works, unless you do!

Its a gym. Buy a day pass and try it out. Not the worst place to workout not the best. If your goal is strength training or bodybuilding it works, mostly because you already know what you need to do and what works for you. Has all the accessories you'd typically buy yourself which is nice like straps and grips. If you're just doing light training or mostly cardio go to a chain gym and save on the monthly payments, with the yearly membership fee it'll be about even anyway.

I was transferred from Blast to Planet Fitness and although I hated PF initially, honestly that's the place I'd recommend 90% of people go. Sweeneys doesn't have a locker room (yet, its currently under construction), very few machines (cardio or strength), and its pretty tiny. If there were 20 people working out it'd be full. Theres only one of each training equipment. Ive had to wait more than few times for the moms that were chatting to get off a machine. I only switched because I wanted more free weights(and theres more than enough) but definitely miss the luxuries of PF--water fountain, paper towels, always spotless, 10x more machines, especially more than one of each machine, locker room, better parking. SG does do events though which look nice. Things like viewing parties and cooking classes. I guess in the summer you can even bring beer and grill your own food if you want.

Owner does seem to have an ego (almost all the pictures are of him), but that shouldn't matter because you dont actually have to work out with him. He's nice to me though and always been friendly.

Lastly some people say the machines are a little older. Does that mean they don't work? If one of your main concerns is that the machines aren't pretty enough for you then you have bigger issues to deal with than this gym.

I was told this gym was $19.99 when I called and the owner said no BS contracts. Then, I went to tour the gym where a female staff told me it was $24.99 with a 6 month commitment. I was taken back, but it was still a good deal for a 24/7 gym. I joined and they gave me a key. I worked out there twice and it was hot/humid in there. There were nasty notes by the owner that I must not have noticed when I took the tour. I usually got stuck with a treadmill that didn’t do an incline because it was broke. I found it depressing to go there, so I stopped going and had to pay out the 6 months. As soon as the 6 months was over, I canceled. It’s too bad because that gym is close to me. However, I didn’t enjoy my experience with them.

I'm not sure who this trainer/owner asks to leave reviews of his establishment, but like a previous reviewer wrote - he is sincerely a joke and also a cheat. This guy uses less of a training approach and more of a bullying one. All I needed was a couple of sessions to realize that its not worth your time to even go here.

I'm not sure what the other person was talking about when it comes to customer service. I had a great experience joining Sweeney's and was happy to see their affordable new $20/mo offer. This is great since my wife and I wanted to both join.

The best part is since I have worked 3rd and now work 2nd shifts, I can have a place that is open late hours. Since it is a 24/7 gym it feels a lot more private. We were the only two there which is nice when you are out of shape :)

The gym has a little bit of everything. Its also nice safe area to work out with a "gated community" feel with the free key card and free parking.

Glad to find a place close to home near Bayview, Milwaukee. Its near St. Francis and the airport.

The other places in bayview are almost twice the price and are a bit cheesy to jog in front of the window. Sweeney's doesn't feel like you are on display.

It also has a tanning booth, shower, lockers, music, tvs etc. Impressed! Best place on the Southside!
