We’ve had our kids in a lot of different activities and we believe that True North has been one of the most positive experiences of all. From the individual attention to each member, to the extra activities such as Trunk or Treat, Parents Night Out, the tournaments, and the summer program, it’s been a very positive experience all around in our kids’ development. My kids have been training here for eleven years, and I couldn't imagine our family without this community. I even started my own journey to black belt when I was 39. We now have 4 Black Belts of varying degrees in our family, my oldest is the best instructor on the floor (in my humble opinion), and my whole family has developed incredible communication skills and discipline that my kids think is normal.

This place is just so wonderful it’s hard to fit it all in one review! We came across it for our son who was in kindergarten and we just wanted to give him some help with confidence and we were looking for an afterschool activity for the summer. Did it ever deliver! Mr. Hansen and indeed all the staff there are so professional and cordial you really instantly feel part of their family. The amount of outreach they do in the community and the amount of offerings they provide for your little black belts is truly unparalleled. They also provide afterschool care, picking the kids up from multiple Brookfield public schools, which was a huge bonus for my family. Super flexible with their programs and classes, we even do his birthday parties through them! It’s amazing that I can bring this place up to people who have lived in the area for years and they have just as many wonderful things to say about them as our family does. A true gem in the community.

My son Kasey started with True North (then called Karate America) back in 2021 with Mr Hanson. He had some behavioral issues and some difficulty following instructions both at home and in school. The first 3-6 months at True North showed drastic improvement in those areas. It's now 2024 and my son continues to improve in his karate skills, his confidence and he longer has the behavioral issues he was having difficulty with earlier. Mr Hanson is a great leader and inspires everyone he comes into contact with to be their best.

I’ve been at TrueNorth Martial Arts for over a year now. It’s been a magical experience for me. I have found a passion and something to put my energy, heart, and mind into.

The lessons and life skills taught are beneficial to both children and adults, and the classes are comprehensive and engaging.

find myself subconsciously performing karate forms at random when I am not at TrueNorth, as does my younger brother. When Thursday classes are over, we long for the weekend to end so we may return to karate.

Ever after school program is for elmbrook School district and they provide transportation and your kid has a schedule of if they are a Monday Wednesday kid which is the day they do karate or a Tuesday Thursday kid which is where they do karate on Tuesdays and on Fridays you play a game called battle ball it is like dodgeball and they have two sides one side for the younger kids that's less intense and one side for the oldest kids which is a little more intense than the other side they have groups throughout the entire after school program where it is red for the oldest blue for the middle and gold for the youngest. The summer camp is on Mondays they play soccer ball on Tuesdays a place comes to them and they do an activity on Wednesdays they go on field trips and on Thursday they have Nerf battle they provide Nerf guns if your child does not have one and on Fridays they go to the they walk to the local green area by the library.my shirt is an amazing thing the instructions are so nice and all the students are super nice and Mr Hansen who is the lead instructor he is the nicest person I have ever met I really recommend this place is awesome and I myself am a student there and they treat you so nice and so well your kid would definitely have fun and adults can even take classes themselves.

My 7 year old is always excited to come to her lesson. She gets to learn small little pearls of wisdom about family and community and I really appreciate it. We called twice and spoke to Ms. Hansen and sent one email to cancel enrollment. Have been at KA Brookfield for >5 years. Kept getting told someone would get back to us with what to do over a one week period. Very disappointed with this lack of professionalism and communication. Not discussing a plan for how to move forward with a change in life circumstance for us while teaching integrity and respect was frustrating.
