I highly recommend Unbroken Strength! I was in town for a few days for training and found this gym. Mike and the staff were incredibly welcoming, and they had all the equipment I needed. The gym was spotless, and I had a great experience overall. I’ll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

I started working out at Unbroken Strength 3 years ago. Being in my mid 50's and not having worked out in 30 years I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I realized from day one that I couldn't have picked a better gym. Mike the owner is not only an excellent coach, but he's a great person. He understands everyone's level of fitness and he truly wants each athlete to get stronger and improve their skills. Mike (and Kelly) make working out enjoyable and are always coming up with new ideas to make improvements to the gym.

I moved up to the Madison area two years ago coming from doing CrossFit style workouts for seven years (coaches also on and off for last four). When I got here, I got lazy and took a break. When I wanted to come back to my fitness journey, I tried out multiple gyms, but none really connected with me until I tried out Unbroken Strength. The coaches are all very informative and the workouts are great. I definitely recommend coming in for the free trial class and stay for the membership!

I initially joined unbroken strength as part of a six week challenge to lose weight, But after only a few classes, I quickly realized my goals had changed. I was on this journey to build strength, confidence, and a community of kind and supportive people. I walked into my first class with zero experience in the whole gym scene. The scaling options for every workout along with knowledgeable and experienced coaches made it so easy to feel comfortable and welcome regardless of skill level. Mike and the other coaches are fantastic with their focus on safety first while encouraging each member to reach their goals. They truly care about their members and that is evident through their support, compassion, and commitment to helping us with proper form. The variety of workouts keeps it exciting and motivating. I have been a member of this gym for 5 1/2 years, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of this special place.

If it’s possible to start at a negative fitness level, that’s where I was when I started going to Unbroken Strength. I’ve never been able to find a fitness routine that stuck, and I stopped doing much exercise at all after the pandemic. After hearing positive things from friends out of state who go to group strength and conditioning classes, I started hunting for a local gym. I stumbled upon Unbroken Strength through a Google search, and man am I glad I did. Mike and the other trainers have been incredible. Most exercises were (and sometimes still are) entirely new to me, and I’ve never felt judged for asking questions about doing them. My safety is their top priority, and they regularly make sure my form is good and help me adjust exercises as needed. I’ve come a long way in just five months, and I feel so much better physically and mentally than I have in years. I love that the classes change each week to keep things interesting, and I’ve really enjoyed the community. It’s easier to motivate myself to work out at 6 a.m. when I know I won’t be doing it alone (and others will ask where I was if I miss a class). Can’t recommend this gym enough!

Mike and his team are excellent. Worked out through multiple shoulder surgery recoveries, and Mike weaved in during workouts to find me alternatives as needed. I've been a member of Unbroken for the past 1.5 years, and I can honestly say it's been the best decision I made since moving here. Every single experience has been both incredibly demanding and rewarding.

I had never been to a crossfit workout before joining, so I was pretty apprehensive about whether or not I'd enjoy it. My first class with Mike immediately changed my view. There were members with a wide variety in both age and experience. While many of the workouts and exercises in class were new to me, I had consistent coaching throughout the class on proper form and technique. The emphasis of one-on-one coaching isn't just for first timers or beginners; it's something that stays true members of all tenure. Every class I attend has 4-5 moments of individualized pointers and reinforcements of good work.

Unbroken has a variety of coaches in different demographics, leading to an environment where I have the benefit of receiving quality information from a variety of perspectives and experiences.

I also want to point out that I've never been physically driven to grow so consistently. Classes have a way of pushing yourself to a level you didn't think you could before. By the end of my first session I realized I had also joined a community. I no longer prefer putting in my headphones for a session at a local gym. Instead, I genuinely look forward to the 60 minutes I get to spend at Unbroken.

Unbroken strength is a perfect way to counteract all the sitting at my job. Mike and all the coaches are super inviting and helpful. The gyms atmosphere is relaxed but coordinated so you will always get a great workout in just by showing up. They offer a bunch of times to come in throughout the day for a group workout and also have open gym times if you just want to work on things by yourself.

I instantly felt welcome and at home at Unbroken. The coaches are all incredible, they truly want to see you succeed, crush your goals and have a great workout! They provide cues, things to work on or small areas of focus to improve your moves and ensure you are also safely moving in a way to prevent injury. I'd you are in Verona for Epic or anything else, I highly recommend this gym. If you are fat and want to get stronger, I recommend this gym. If you are black, I recommend this gym. If you have a baby and want to get stronger, I recommend this gym.

I came to unbroken strength because it was closest to me and I wanted to try and get active again. I am black, fat, and don't have great stamina/resilience because of a number of medical conditions, including orthostatic hypotension.

Despite the crossfit reputation, Mike, Jake, and a dark haired woman whose name I can't remember (sorry!!!) were extremely accommodating, kind, and patient. I also never felt like other members of the gym were gawking at me or judging me. Many people were friendly, and there were other fat women who had been coming for a long time and were really strong. There were many super strong and thin members that were very welcoming and partnered with me for exercises. There is a couple with a baby that come in every day and the gym accommodates them as well.

No matter how you come in, they are patient and really watch your form to make sure to tell you how not to injure yourself. They did this with me and with all of the other people, even people who had been coming for much longer than me.

I can't stress enough how welcoming the culture in this gym is. Any time I had to quit because of a medical reason or because I was exhausted, I was never pushed. The class leader always came over to check if I was okay and often suggested more doable versions of the exercise. This is the place I finally learned how to deadlift, and I am so happy about it.

Definitely join this gym! Its a small business, which we really need rn, and the culture is great and the leaders are really thoughtful.

We've been members at Unbroken Strength since May '22, and couldn't be happier. Mike's great at scaling workouts to any experience level or ability, and there's a wide range of both in his classes, so it's easy to feel like you belong. He encourages questions, and is happy to modify workouts or make suggestions if you have any concerns (e.g. my husband's tricky shoulders, or my insanely tight hamstrings).

The culture in the gym is one of positive encouragement, not pressure, and there's a helpful comradery among members. Even after taking a few months off, we returned this week to a bright welcome and no judgments. I'm always glad to be there when I walk in the door, and I have a smile (albeit sometimes a very tired one) when I leave. Couldn't recommend this gym more!

I can't speakly highly enough about this gym! Mike, the owner, makes it a priority every class to check in with each athlete to make sure he's meeting us where we're at that day. I've never gone to a class and not gotten feedback on my movement, something I deeply appreciate as a seasoned athlete. As a family we joined Hammer Forged in August and have had the best experience with the coaches, members and especially the training. Our 3 children are members, along with my husband and myself. Our 12 year daughter loves the workouts and is excited about all the challenges she overcomes. She feels powerful and the coaches are great mentors for our entire family. I would highly recommend this CrossFit gym! The coaches are top notch and even when they have a bigger class, it always seems like they are working with you one on one! They make sure everyone is doing the exercises properly and if you need help they are there.

The classes are challenging in the best way possible and each class they work on what weights and strengths you did last time, and increase them so you get stronger.

I am not very good at CrossFit yet but they make everyone feel welcome and make sure you have fun and get an amazing workout in! The positivity here is simply amazing too. I feel like it’s my family and I get excited to go get my butt kicked each day. If you’re thinking whether you wanna do a gym like this or not, do it. I was on the fence too and it’s well worth it for sure!

They always do a stretch at the end to cool down and warmups in the beginning. This is crucial I feel in the overall goals of your fitness and making sure you don’t get hurt.

I have done another CrossFit gym before and it was terrible. I dreaded going and I didn’t learn anything and the atmosphere was terrible.

This gym is welcoming and has the latest technology and I tell everyone it. Trust me, you won’t regret it!!
