You will never escape them. I’ve done everything to cancel and they keep charging my card. Do not get involved with this club. How can you allow someone to add a family member as a guest but then not allow that same person to cancel? You’ve trapped the situation with this careless policy. The membership was set up improperly. All charges should be refunded since this was only used a couple times (as a guest member over the holidays as it was intended). You’ve exploited a technicality obvious.

Don’t send your kids to their daycare. The workers were ignoring the 1 child in the room and he fell and hit his head. Instead of apologizing and punishing the workers who neglected a 1year old they’re refusing to take responsibility. They have video footage of the employees on their computers instead of playing with the child. Do not leave your kids with the workers!

This situation has gotten worse.

I tried to cancel my membership and it would not cancel for some reason, so I froze it.

But, they scanned me for some reason, and it unfroze my account. (Even though I never went in or used to equipment)

Which meant, now I owe them 3 months to cancel.

$42 * 3 =$126.00
Plus the cancellation - $35 fee
Plus they charged me for a month in between $42

But hey, it gets worse!!! The manager told me the lady should’ve let us in, because the rule she was referring to wasn’t valid and we are able to provide a picture.

He said that he would be in touch with me and we would all talk and make up— never happened.

I’ve never had a worse / more negative experience. I’ve gotten CC interest fees and late payments due to this charge coming in when it shouldn’t have.

I will be reporting them to the BBB, locking my card, and doing everything I can to dispute this payment. Horrible service, horrible gym, all they care about is money.

I would rather lock my Cc and never use it again and be sent to collections than pay these thieves.

They didn’t let my fiance in for a rule that didn’t exist & now charged me for months I never used, in order to cancel, because they unfroze my account. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy.

This will be a long one— I apologize as I’m heated

I’ve been a member for about 1 1/2 years. Always made friends with the staff never had problems, until today.

Came into the gym with my girlfriend, got her excited about us going together for the first time

We both have work, her at 5 am in the morning and I wake up at that time to cook for her before my shift starts. It’s about 8:20 at this time. We’re dressed, she got pretty & i have our workout mapped. But we didn’t know something (more on that later).

We get to the gym, and unfortunately she does not her physical Id. She has a picture but not the physical. Lady at the front says nothing can be done. I’m not going to name her out of respect, as I’m sure she has a family.

I ask a couple of questions, but she is a stickler of the rules. I respect it, really I do. With that being said, since these rules caused a negative experience, I walk out.. think about it and decide I’d like to cancel my membership. Can only be done through the app. Ok. Cool. The app doesn’t work for some reason to cancel. Whatever.

I leave again and I think about it— if I was in her shoes, to help someone, a client of mine, what might I do? Hoping I can plead to her human side, or perhaps fear of getting in trouble with a manager, I go back in now a third time, and I say “I’m not trying to be funny but what would your manager say?”

She says, you can ask her tomorrow for now you’re dealing with me. Okay. I guess this is a power trip. I tell her godbless her and leave.

Anyways, if you’re going for the first time make sure you bring your ID. Better yet never go to this gym. There is crunch fitness, which is cheaper and far better. (More equipment, less packed, more bags, nicer staff, etc). Just go there.

Recently joined after a thorough tour Mike gave.

Kay's yoga classes are fantastic.

I am very disappointed though my friend who referred me, and is the reason I decided to check Vasa out in the first place, will not get the referral credit all just because I signed up at the front desk after class. And I didn't know she wouldn't get the credit until it was "too late".

That's bad business. You should be able to give credit to a friend and an employee for signing up. They're just incentivizing you not to go through their team, even after they put in the work. This is a disservice to the members who go out of their way to refer friends, the employees who work hard building the brand, and new members by forcing them to choose. Again, bad business. Something that could be a very easy fix on their end, yet they refuse.

I’ve went to this location since it opened, the gym isn’t what it was and became too packed so I decided to cancel my membership on the online portal only to find out I was still be charged. I recently moved and changed banks and now have outstanding fees because I had no idea my membership was still standing. It’s sad because I had to find out I can’t get assistance in member cancellation in person. I have to talk to a random customer service rep. Over time I've paid for over 15 training sessions that I've never received. They refuse to give me a refund nor make up the sessions that were cancelled. These sessions were primarily cancelled on VASA end. When I 1st started there was a trainer there cancelling and claiming he worked the sessions. Now they want me to cancel and pay $400 without giving me the sessions their charging me for not giving me the sessions I haven't received. The parking lot is often full with people parking were their not supposed to and no disabled people parking in the handicap area. Sometimes it makes it difficult to get in and out. Especially in winter when they don't clear the spots completely and someone's half in the spot. Things have been broken for long periods of time. The hand dryer and handicap shower for many months. The pool is closed too many times for ph issues and hot tub for no chlorine. Sauna and massage room also down longer than expected. Place has gone down hill in the past couple years

When I started going here I thought it was the best gym in the area, but it has been going downhill. Popular pieces of equipment have been broken for MONTHS without attention including the leg extension, cables, treadmills/stairmaster, the bubbler, and hand dryer in the ladies room. I emailed them about these issues and got a boilerplate “we’ll let management know” response. That was a few weeks ago and nothing has changed. Just fix it already! If a maintenance man isn’t in the picture management needs to step up or call the manufacturer and a plumber. It can’t just never get fixed when now so many things are out of order that it’s affecting people’s experience.

Update 8/27/25 - This gym has taken a nose-dive. A dozen pieces of equipment broken on any given day. Currently the seated leg extension (which is such a popular piece of equipment there is usually a 5-10 minute wait for one) has been broken for over 2 months. There are 3 standing cable crossover machines. 2 of the 3 are broke and have been for weeks. Both water fountains are currently broken and have been for weeks. The urinal in the men's lockerroom has been broken for weeks. Many of the hammer strength machines have extremely torn and worn out padding on them with the black vinyl gone to expose the foam underneath. There are even several of the large overhead lights out making dimly lit areas of the main workout floor. Add to it all the gym is extremely overcrowded making teh broken equipment even more frustrating. VASA CORPORATE SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN AND GET THIS PLACE BACK IN ORDER. Its embarrassing.

Update 9/18/23 - In spite of the massive influx of new members months ago VASA has added ZERO pieces of additional equipment.

Busiest gym I've ever been to. It's beyond packed from 4 to 8 pm. Can't believe they still email members pushing referrals. The gym is over capacity. Be prepared to wait 5-15 minutes for most equipment.

The bad: With the closing of Xperience fitness the already extremely busy gym from 4-8pm is now unbearably packed. On popular pieces of equipment there is (no exageration) sometimes a wait of 2-3 people. THIS GYM NEEDS TO ADD EQUIPMENT LIKE YESTERDAY. There is plenty of room to add more equipment. If they are going to just keep selling $10 a month memberships with no limit there has to come a point when the gym can't absorb any more people. I'd argue we are past that point when people have to wait 20 minutes to use popular equipment (bench press, leg press, leg extention, etc)

VASA - Please please add more equipment.

The bad: (see update below) The gym is chock full of Gen Z walking around with camera tripods setting up for their social media influencer fantasies. Seriously expect about 6 tripods at any given time. One dude live streams his entire workout (and I can't imagine who wants to see the little guy workout) Seriously Gen Z. Its a gym not a video studio. Its already crowded enough without you setting up your tripod in the middle of the aisles, getting the perfect angle, reviewing your footage for the perfect shot. Not to mention others don't want to be on your internet feed nor trip over your tripod. Get on your machine and get your workout done so someone else can do the same. Or come when its not busy for your video shoot.

Update: 6/12/23 - Tripods are now virtually non-existent. Rumor is VASA now prohibits them. Definitely a good policy change. Also a growing contingent of 30+ year old members. Good mix.

Also be VERY CAREFUL in both the men's and women's lockerrooms. Gen Z's constantly taking selfies in locker rooms and catching other unsuspecting members in the locker room in the background of their pictures. (update as of 12/11/22) VASA has posted signage in locker rooms to deter photo/video taking.

When I first signed up, everything sounded great — low monthly cost, extra amenities, and a big welcoming facility. But once you’re in, the truth comes out fast. Many of the “perks” they advertise, like red light therapy and massage chairs, are constantly broken. You’re paying for services you can’t even use.

Then comes the hidden fees. Just 30 days after signing up, I was hit with a surprise $50 “yearly membership” fee. When I tried to lower my plan, they demanded another $25 fee just to downgrade. Now that I realize I don’t use the gym enough to justify it, they want to charge me another $25 to cancel, and I still have to pay the monthly fee. It feels like they’ve built their entire business model around nickel-and-diming members.

Customer service is equally terrible expect to sit on hold for hours, and if you try the text messaging option, don’t be surprised if it takes weeks to get any response.

I’ve only used the treadmill a handful of times since May, and yet I’ve paid far more in fees than in actual value. If you’re looking for a reliable gym, look elsewhere. VASA Fitness makes it easy to sign up but nearly impossible to leave without wasting your money and patience.

Awesome gym. It has almost everything you want.

Good:
- A lot of young, fit people to help keep you motivated. Good mix of people, but especially good for millennials and gen z.
- Sauna is great.
- Great equipment.
- Very roomy in the morning.
- Lights are very bright. This helps wake you up in the morning.

Bad:
- I go in the morning because it becomes a zoo from 4:00 to 8:00 PM
- I wish the treadmills had a place for your phone closer to eye level. I hate having to always look down. Tech neck sucks.
- Some equipment (and bubblers) are broke and don’t get fixed quickly.
- I like watching football while working out. They almost never have the tv’s on FOX, CBS or NBC when football games are on. The staff says they can’t simply change channels. Why?

The good far outway the bad.

I’ve been a member since the gym opened up coming from the Wisconsin Athletic Club. I really enjoyed coming here because it’s close to my job so it isn’t a hassle to drive after a long day. I enjoy the community in the gym and the people I’ve come to meet. Unfortunately for the past month I’ve noticed how much of the equipment is broken or inoperable. I haven’t seen any urge to fix the machines other than the “We are working on it” sign. When the gym is crowded there’s always lines to use the remaining equipment and it can be frustrating to wait and lose the pump. The community is the only thing keeping me from canceling and finding a new gym if things don’t improve I’ll end up going elsewhere.

I’ve been a member at this gym for the past 3 years and I’ve seen dramatic changes for the worst, once they lost their maintenance team this gym has been going downhill. The massage chairs have been out of service for awhile, one of two leg extension machines has been broken for at least two months, amongst numerous other machines that don’t work properly or are broken constantly. The steam room has been out of service for weeks and the bathrooms are rarely cleaned. I never see any coworkers of the gym cleaning anything. It’s a shame that the gym hasn’t been maintained. Please get some management in this gym that cares, or you’ll see more and more people leave and never come back.

Vasa used to be extremely nice , until a couple of months ago when the maintenance man quit . Now many machines and treadmills are out of service. I do not mean a day or week , I'm talking months. There are just two leg extension machines which ones been broken for months therefore you have to wait online in order to have access to the lone machine. There time 2-3 gym bros that group up and command the machine for 45 minutes or more. The massage chairs are all broken so that's completely closed as well as the steam room from time to time . I used to live the gym , so I like to give them grace but now it just look and feel like disrepair. Today was the final straw . I went into the men's room and had to wait online to use the urinal because one of the three was broken ( recurring theme) as I waiting standing in a puddle of water which assumed came from someone not drying off from the shower or pool. After the guy finished and walked away, the urinal flushed and completely overflowing like a tsunami. Turns out the standing water was water and urine from whomever use it .🤢the picture of the shirt in the locker is a old sweaty shirt some forgot several days ago , so clearly they are not cleaning the gym.tgree days in a row I've checked for it and it's still there .

The equipment is ancient and seems like it hasn't been updated never.Half the machines are out of order, and the staff acts like they're doing you a favor by just being there. TL;DR If they offer you a "free" membership upgrade for a month, DO NOT FALL FOR IT.
I repeat, DO NOT AGREE TO THE "FREE" MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE.
This company only wants your money and doesn't actually care about you. Since nobody actually reads the fine print in those contracts, allow me to shed some light on them.

I've been a member at this gym since they opened about 3 years ago and had no issues until recently.

I entered the gym like any other day, and one of the workers at the front desk randomly offered me a "free" membership uprgade for a month. I was initially skeptical and passed, but they told me it would only take a minute, so I thought, why not.

I should have gone with my gut instinct and said no.

I was shown a screen that said I would not be charged for this billing cycle, and I planned on changing back to my original plan after the month was up.

That was wishful thinking.

After my month was almost up, I went into the app, having used basically none of the perks from my membership upgrade, with the exception of one free 'bring a friend' pass.
When I clicked on 'change membership plan', I'm greeted with a pop-up message 'We only allow changing your plan once every 32 days'.

I should've seen that coming. They'd fill their pockets one way or another.

This was annoying, but I just felt like an idiot for playing into their hands and was planning to move on and just tank the hit.

That was just the beginning.

I go back to the gym and ask at the front desk about changing my membership. They say they can't do anything and redirect me to the app where I can change it or call.

I go back into the app, and the pop-up has gone away, and I can now change my membership back!

...for an additional $50 to 'guarantee my rate'.

The same rate that I just also inadvertently increased by changing my plan, thus no longer having my plan locked in at the original $10/month that I had been paying for the past 3 years, so now I can change my plan back to the basic for and additional $5/month.

To top it all off, if I wish to cancel because of their slimey tactics and games it's even more money they want me to fork over for an additional $25 to cancel my membership, with the arbitrary language "if it's within the first 6 months".
Which apparently means the first 6 months of even changing your membership, not just having a membership, as it is charging me the $25 fee when I go to the cancelation page.

Lastly, but certainly not least, they hit you with the '30 day notice requirement' to presumably rake in yet ANOTHER billing cycle from me...? I'm not sure, since they don't clarify any of that when you're signing your name and checking the 'agree' boxes.

In short, I went from paying my very affordable and comfortable $10/month (the only reason I signed up here in the first place) for 3 years, with no issues, to now having to pay a significant amount of money any avenue I take.

If I wish to change back to my old plan, I'm going to be paying the rate raise at almost $20/month with taxes, up from not even $15/month with taxes, the additional $50 'rate fee guarantee' and the one billing cycle they tricked me into paying at the highest membership tier.

If I wish to cancel my membership, it is $75 due at the time of cancelation.

And I'm obviously not staying at $45/month (with a $50 enrollment fee) for not using any of the benefits that come with the highest tier.

"FREE" membership upgrade...

I go to the gym to exercise and keep my body and mind strong, not play mental games and get physically stressed.

I can understand these fees being part of the agreement, until all of the fees only come on because of a 'free membership upgrade' offer. One that I should never have agreed to.

I guess I am the idiot in this case, for assuming a company actually cared about something more than just their bottom line.

How to lose a long-time customer that's been with you since your opening in a matter of minutes. And my bet is they won't actually care since they've already managed to squeeze enough money out of me on my way out the door.

We've been members for almost three years after over 20 years of going to the Y. In the beginning, the biggest issue was finding the right time to go since it was always packed. But the equipment was brand new and the classes were excellent.

The last year and a half has been trying. The classes are still excellent and they (finally) repaired the parking lot, but there is constant staff turnover, routine maintenance is simply not performed, and machines are marked as out of service for months at a time. In one case, I have repeatedly told the front desk staff about issues with specific machines (once or twice a month), am told they will open a ticket, and the issue remains unresolved over 6 months later! At my visit today I counted 9 different machines with signs marking them out-of-service.

After three years of near constant use, the machines are breaking down and have broken/missing handles and torn cushions/grips that go unaddressed for months on end. This facility needs a full-time maintenance staff that proactively checks equipment for wear and malfunction so it can be quickly addressed and brought back to excellent condition. If not, members will lose interest in this location.

The machine selection is pretty comparable to a nice planet fitness, which doesn't bother me too much for the price. But if you are looking to get away from the overcrowded Planet Fitness scene.... look elsewhere.

Don't ever go here. They're financial services are a joke. They go through a company called Paramount Acceptance which is known to be rediculous wait times. They're promotions are false as well. Read that fine print. We did the 3 month trial for the new years special and ended up still getting charged and somehow they made duplicate accounts under my name. I called They're services multiple times to cancel and I still ended up getting charged over 160$ and then had to pay 25$ to cancel again even though it was the gym that made a mistake and had duplicate accounts under my name. Planet Fitness is more reasonable for canceling than this gym. It's not 20$ a month either so don't believe that at all.

First off the workout area is amazing 5 stars there. Im a basketball player and this is the main reason I purchased the studio membership, the problem is the gym floor is almost unplayable. It is very very slippery. When I told the worker about it she quickly talked to a manager and was told to bring fans in. My thing is what why don’t this establishment have dust mops and brooms or even built in dehumidifiers in a state of the art facility? Someone is going to get seriously injured at your expense.

I go to the New Berlin location, and the gym is overall good. I heard the classes are awesome( never taken one tho) The weightlifting equipment is really good too. I’ve seen better resulting switching to this gym from planet 😂
Overall a good gym but-
Only thing I would say is it’s always hot and humid at this location which can be uncomfortable at times. Cleanliness is 8/10. But the men’s bathroom always stank and always dirty tho lol
I’ve been to the Racine WI location and I do prefer going there if not new Berlin location.

The pool could use better maintenance in turns of water quality. I find there is a bunch of debris pooled up in a corner most of the days I use it.

Vasa is a clean, well outfitted, and active gym. It is a busy place, unless you are going on off times or very early. They have a great range of adminities from classes to childcare, a sauna, hot tub, and a pool. Pricing is fair especially when compared to other gym offerings.

This gym has everything I want: a variety of fitness classes with excellent instructors, plenty of cardio and weight machines, a nice clean new facility, massage beds, big parking lot so there’s always a spot available even during busy times, and most importantly, friendly professional helpful staff who always have some encouraging words to offer. I am just getting back into a regular fitness routine but thanks to VASA I believe am off to a good start, and in it for the long haul.

Vasa Fitness is a great choice for anyone who wants to work out without paying a lot of money. With affordable membership options, lots of equipment, fun classes, and a friendly atmosphere, it’s easy to see why Vasa is growing so fast. Whether you want to lift weights, try a dance class, or just go for a jog on the treadmill, Vasa has everything you need.
While there are some small downsides, like crowded gyms at peak hours or waiting for customer service, the overall experience at Vasa is excellent. If you’re looking for a gym that gives you great value for your money, Vasa Fitness is definitely worth considering.

Never, in my years of being a gym connoisseur, have I seen such an extrordinary gym as VASA Fitness in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Though the main focus is the gym atmosphere and working out, you cannot leave out the staff that make the gym as amazing as it is. I think the employees are great and filled with joy and motivation, but the diamond in the rough here is none other than Veronica!

Veronica is the kindest out of the crew and does an amazing job at providing good service and cleaning the gym—truly a cut above the rest.

I came for a free day pass to take advantage of the Studio Red HIIT workout class. There I met Danielle the coach. She was so great, she walked my partner and I thru the workouts, pushed us to keep going when we got tired but never felt overwhelmed or overworked. I must have been playing around in the gym before this because I never sweated so much in an hour. Because of her I signed up for the Studio Red membership and I’ve been coming to her class every Saturday since . Thanks Danielle ☺️

A great gym at an affordable price! The New Berlin, WI location has quality Group Fitness instructors! I have been a member since this location opened and I give hats off to instructor Ann for her excellence in leading cycling, body pump, and studio red classes. She gets to know her students and what they are trying to achieve in goals. She provides tips for varying ages in her class, I.e. myself being a on the senior side, she gives options to movements and positioning on those that may be more difficult!
Other quality instructors I have recently become familiar with are Yvonne who teaches Les Mills Body Pump on Fridays, and Rachel ( Total Body Conditioning ). Like the time options for classes. The gym equipment is quality, and staff is friendly. A great value Gym. Thanks to GM Jesse and the staff team!!! -Mike

Christina’s Zumba step class at 8 am on Tuesdays is my very favorite class at Vasa! Not only is it an amazing cardio workout, but Christina makes this the most fun class ever! I have been a member for two years and love this gym. If you are only looking for a basic membership to use the equipment on the floor and that's it, then be forewarned that yes it gets busy because it's a great gym! I spend most of my time in classes and love that I get the most bang for my buck than any other gym since it offers high and low intensity classes, cycle classes and different types of yoga classes so I get all my needs in one place at a low cost.

The coaches are great! I love Ann's Cycle classes and she is also a great Studio Red coach, along with Terri and Kyle.
Rachel does a very effective Total Body Conditioning class and a Core class for any level as she consistently offers modifications. And I am absolutely addicted to Deep Stretch Yoga, which Kay and Jessica both do a fantasic job guiding members through!

Also by taking classes I have come to know quite a few members, which is also nice since it can be a motivation to show up since you know others who will be there!
