Opened in 1976, the Wisconsin Athletic Club - West Allis became the pioneer club in the WAC family with a convenient, central location on HWY 100 between Lincoln and Greenfield Ave. This club also has the distinct honor of having the #1 ranked racquetball program in America as noted by International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IRHSA).

Would like to give a shout out to the General Manager Ann! She went above and beyond with ensuring that my concern was heard and addressed with a resolution. I appreciated this so much.
I do enjoy that there is different areas within the gym to be able to work out.. it does feel like a maze kind of.
I wish this gym had a steam room for women, it would be the cherry on top for me.
All in all..staff is really nice and welcoming and I would consider this my second home location for my gym.

I love the this gym. The people are cool, the employees are polite, and the machines aren't ever overcrowded. My 3 issues are
1. Private stawls for showers in the men's lockeroom needs to be added some way some how
2. A dryer machine to dry our clothes after using the facility.
3. There should be towels added downstairs Incase someone forgets to get towels when they walk in

So far been to all locations except Menomonee falls and Wauwatosa and West Allis location is the worse I seen so far. I think the gym is set up very weird like a maze. They have a basketball courts with only one basket ?? Itβs super small. And the worse for me was how outdated the locker rooms and showers were. It felt like I was in a public pool locker room. Bathroom stalls with a shower head literally. Felt like I was just in a bathroom with showers. The showers almost have no individual drains in each shower like the other locations itβs like if you are brushing you hair or rinsing it all just goes to the next stall ( just imagine showering and the person next to you is washing their hair and all their hair just washes to your feet disguised) there just like a central drain a few drains outside of the shower stalls. A lot of mold and rust in the locker rooms and showers as well.
Honestly I think you can find a decent planet fitness that is better than this location in terms of cleanliness, and equipment.

This is the home club, and favorite of all the locations. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Angela and Kirsta helped me to find a lost item today, thank yβall! Kirsta always goes that extra step to assist. She is always wearing a smile and has genuine energy. I was interested in learning the Pilates reformer and she referred me to the Instructor and followed up after the session. My Family enjoys Janiceβs Tuesday night Yoga classes, along with Jamesβ on the weekends. Both great instructors. After joining, this has been the first time using a sauna on a regular basis and we love it. Only thing we wish was different is that the womenβs gym/ locker room/ sauna area had a steam room like the other locations, but they are a short drive away. Thereβs something for everyone at the WAC. Highly recommend!

I've gone to this location, the Brookfield one, and the Tosa one and prefer the other 2 because they have gyms and more room for their classes which is what I mainly do for my workouts. This one has all the equipment I need though (wouldn't mind newer cardio equipment like at the others though) and is conveniently located. Big plus for the outdoor pickleball courts as well and all the staff/instructors are super nice!

So far so good. A bit pricey but it has been worth it considering the various classes that are available. My favorite is Ringside (boxing/kickboxing) Seanβs class is the best!! His workouts are beginner friendly, intense, challenging and fun! Not to mention his music playlist is fire! Only downside is his class fills up fast!
The actual gym is nice as well. Hasnβt been overcrowded since joining. Weights/machines are almost always available which is a plus!

Unfortunately this facility has an over abundance of employees which results in the awkward micro-managing of members (saw a cleaning member snap & cuss for their being a towel left on the floor & today was followed after entering and was questioned why I was in the locker room with out a lock?).

βοΈApparently its the original WAC & Im glad the owners appreciated the unique charms & have not ruined the place with over zealous remodeling (as they sadly have at their other locations here in Milwaukee).
This location should be landmarked.
& it could be run more profitably with 80% less employees.

Truthfully this gym is outdated and over priced at $83 a month. Most of the weight equipment is outdated besides the new trainer room, which is only open to the public for a couple hours three times a week at odd times. The gym seems to be focused on pickle ball players, which gives it more of a club feel rather than a gym. There is one pickle ball court with a basketball hoop that is bent and the netting falling off. The building itself is outdated, so the formatting is very odd with navigating around to each room. The pool room, out door courts and bar are also very much so outdated. You also have to walk through the turf room to get to the locker rooms to and from the pool, which is a little weird while others lift. Also, when it is hot/humid outside, it brings a very bad odor to the inside of the gym and the air flow is bad. Overall, certain WAC's are worth $83 (Menominee Falls, Brookfield), but the West Allis location is still so outdated that it makes zero sense at that price value. There's literally a brand new gym in VASA that is three times the size that offers everything besides pickle ball and a bar for only $30 a month. It be great if they offered better pricing. They do offer a cheaper membership strictly for West Allis but they only give you limited time to go (you can't go between 4-8PM).

I stopped in yesterday to pick up something. The guy that helped me was very nice. However, the people at the front desk made my daughter feel uncomfortable. They were staring at us like we were aliens. I thought it was just me, but my daughter mentioned it when we left. Iβm glad there are other locations to choose from. This experience was odd.

Currently this place has gone down hill, new general manager and fitness manager are terrible with members. Unfortunately after 15 years I will no longer be going to your West Allis location, maybe they can learn from your other locations.

This place is extremely clean. The staff works really hard to make sure each patron feel special. The aquatics program is well known for teaching small classes, and the private lessons are for young tots all the way to 93-year-olds. They provide towels and shaving cream. I can't say enough about the program they offer for adults and children alike. For instance on August 11th there is a s'mores party for families. It's $10 per family and allows the families to use the outside pool and enjoy s'mores. There will be games and activities played.

Before the pandemic I was a WAC member for many years. Sadly I never recognized how friendly the staff was and at West Allis location they are great. helpful at every turn.
the facilities are good to great. train staff is knowledgeable and I have enjoyed (at least after I was done) the one boost class I have taken.
pool is wonderful and good hot tub.
it appears to me, that all the Equipment was working and in good repair.
and the place has a bar inside. fun.
UPDATE west allis WAC is remodel and is pretty awesome.

Pros: Salt water pool, a hot tub, gendered steam room, sauna, tanning beds; lots of racket ball courts, mostly free classes, nice people and trainers, variety of facilities; I think there's at least a small women's-only area; an outdoor area in warm months, generally very clean; limited hours 'Pub in the Club' is a friendly bar in the middle, large parking lot, changing booths available in the pool besides the large locker areas w/free shaving supplies downstairs (men's side anyway). Cons: expensive, very poor wheelchair/mobility issue access (lots of stairs, at least if you want to use the locker rooms), men's side is group showers not individual, usually an older white crowd often running Fox on the TVs complaining how blimps are in decline these days.
Overall a pretty good gym, and signing up for one WAC gives you access to all of them.

I have been a member of the WAC for a couple months now and I am extremely pleased. I go to the West Allis, Brookfield and Wauwatosa locations. I go to West Allis most often. The Kids Clubhouse staff are absolutely amazing. My daughter asks to go to the gym everyday. I have only gone to the Pub Club twice but everyone always seems to be having a good time. There is definitely a sense of community. We also love to use the pool at West Allis just wish the locker room was closer. Heavier dumbbells in the women's workout room would be awesome too, some 20 and 25lb weights please!

Staff is nice but lacks any common knowledge , they canβt get basketball hoops adjusted to 10 feet and just guess, have also had more than once where I come in mid day to end of day and the Sauna hasnβt even been turned on by the staff. Friendly staff at gym but horrible front desk and manager staff, if Iβm paying 50 a month (more than any gym around) I expect to be able to use the equipment Iβm paying for when I drive there....

This is the worst WAC location. We are at the north shore location, but we have to go to this location because of my daughterβs swimming class. There is no family bathroom for kids after the swimming. If you wanna sign up swimming classes for your kids, choose other locations or other gyms.

The employees here are great and very welcoming! I love how they make you feel comfortable. The atmosphere here is good too, it's not too crowded and people know how to act proper. I also bring my kids to the daycare center here and they love it there too. It's a great place over all. I don't regret signing up for a membership. They have a lot to offer for a decent price for a membership.

Staff is very friendly, facility is always clean and the complimentary classes are energetic and fun. I enjoy Allyβs classes on Monday afternoon. Her class technique is 100% inclusive. She always welcomes the new people and introduces herself along with everyone else in the class. For someone just starting out, I think this is very helpful in encouraging them to keep coming back!
