I’ve been a client of Josh for the past 8 months. I had injured a knee last winter and was looking for help to strengthen it and help it heal.
I have been extremely happy with the help that Josh has provided, and he has opened up a new world of lifting for me. I am 68, have always been a runner/biker/skier, but nothing more. With Josh’s coaching, I have discovered the benefits of working out the rest of my body. Josh has a very well equipped gym, and our one hour workout is a full body workout. I have no knee pain now, and am now limited only with running, due to cartilage/meniscus damage. Besides improving leg strength, now my arms, shoulders and core are stronger, I have greater stability, and I stand straighter, all of which are important for a person my age.
Josh is great about tailoring the workout to a person’s strength and needs. During the workout he is continuously observant of safety, technique, and areas that need to be addressed. There is lots of variety to keep things interesting and keep muscles working in different ways. Josh motivates me in a pleasant way to work hard during the workout. He has also been great about providing routines for me to do on my own in between our weekly sessions. I plan to continue being a client of Josh indefinitely.

Wisconsin Performance has helped a ton throughout the last couple of years I have been working with them. They have helped me a ton with increasing my muscle mass and becoming stronger so that I can always have the upper hand strength wise in my sport. Playing hockey, I need to be strong, quick, and agile while I’m out on the ice so that I can out muscle my opponent off the puck, be a fast skater, and be agile enough so that i’m not getting injured off of strains from not being flexible enough. Wisconsin Performance helped me with all of that. I highly recommend training with Wisconsin Performance to any athlete who is looking to up their strength training to the next level.

I have dealt with Rheumatoid Arthritis for four decades, which includes multiple surgeries. I struggled with finding someone who could help me increase my strength while keeping my issues in mind. Josh has done just that. I have trained with him for over a year and am much stronger because of his training methodology. I traveled extensively this past year and was able to walk for miles and lug suitcases up train steps. So grateful!

I started working out with josh last spring/summer and since then I have seen significant strength, weight, and most importantly seen huge growth in my success in hockey. Earlier in the year I had back problems not allowing me to deadlift, and now I can rep over 350 pounds. My speed has also increased on and off the ice. Going from one of the slower players to one of the faster players in a short period of time.

Working out at wisconsin performance has helped my weight lifting and hockey career greatly. I feel more confident on the ice and feel a strength advantage when playing opponents and feel like my speed has improved. This is also visible when running, my 20 yard dash time has gone up .2 seconds along with putting on muscle weight. This allows me to lift heavier and get stronger, along with being more dominant on the ice.

I recommend Wisconsin Performance to all my family and friends. After hurting my back and suffering from hip pain for years Josh was the only person to get rid of all the pain. I spent thousands at multiple chiropractors and physical therapists which all helped but never addressed the root cause. Josh goes to the source and addresses your whole body in a holistic approach. While pregnant Josh eased my hip pain and now through strength training I’m back to pre-baby weight. Josh’s expertise allows him to customize all workouts to your specific needs and the results show! I’m pain free and have gotten my confidence back!

Whatever your fitness goals - Josh is your guy!
My passion is running (ran my entire life, 1st place female at the Glacial Drumlin 50m Ultra), with 4 knee surgeries and a biking accident leading to hip reconstruction, I was told no more.
With persistent knee and hip pain, I've struggled to find a personal trainer that understood my 'entire picture.' Since Josh, shed 15 pounds, hip has never felt better, knee is strong, able to bike +30m comfortably and fast, and we have a goal of running again (it's around the corner!). Josh listens, asks questions, constructs plans, revisits/tweeks home stretching & exercise routines, provides nutritional recommendations.

I started going to Josh when I was only 3 months away from my wedding, I wanted to lose more weight and tone pretty much everything! After doing other workout classes I knew I had to lift weight, which I have never done before. Josh walked me through all the different machines (how to properly use them all). Also told me how to eat better for losing weight as well as working out doesn't do anything without proper nutrition! Now I look back on my wedding pictures just amazed how far I came in just a short amount of time, all thanks to Josh!!

I came to Josh looking to tone and lose body fat. I started off at 27% body fat - with Josh's help in learning proper macros and guidance in weight lifting, I am now at 17%. I also achieved doing my first unassisted chin up after thinking that was never a possibility and squatting 160lbs! I have never felt so amazing and have gained confidence thanks to working with him. What sets Josh apart from other trainers is that he actually listens to your needs and designs a specific program that is unique to each individual client. Highly recommend Josh and Wisconsin Performance. I had never worked with a personal trainer before and was a bit apprehensive about whether it would be worth it. Without a doubt, it was. Each session is tailored to me and over the course of 10 months I have gained muscle, improved my posture, and changed my body composition. Josh provided great advice about protein intake. The diet changes combined with the strength training led to positive hormone changes - an unexpected benefit. Seeing these results and working with Josh has inspired me to stick with it.

As soon as I walked in, Josh asked questions to identify issues that I might currently be experiencing. Right off the bat, he observed that my right hip was elevated, and helped to put together a few stretches to help open my hips up.
He then walked through each workout and explained what muscle group we’d be working and how it would help address areas that I was wanting to improve upon. His in depth knowledge of each exercise and muscle group is extremely impressive and helps you understand why you’re doing a specific exercise.
Definitely recommend for anyone whose interested in improving their knowledge in fitness.

Came to Josh looking to improve my velocity and strength for baseball and got exactly what I wanted. I Came to josh throwing 83 mph, and before I knew it I’m now throwing 93mph! Josh’s attention to detail and his workout programs are like no other. If you put in the work with him I can guarantee you’ll see the results. Highly recommend.

I have been working with Josh for almost 2 years. With a couple surgeries during that time, he has always helped me get back on track and feeling confident.
He creates realistic plans/workouts around your schedule, fitness goals and lifestyle. He is always educating his clients on proper form, nutrition and areas to focus on to see results faster.
He often times, goes out of his way to research a particular condition and incorporates different protocols into the training program to help alleviate symptoms such as knee pain and hip tightness.

Easily best gym/training experience I've had in the area.
Josh (main trainer there) really took the time to evaluate how my body moves and address weak points. Since I had stiffness in my hips (wfh has given me terrible posture) he addressed it with a stretching protocol then strengthening program that I can continue to do throughout the week at home. My form in the leg workouts I was doing solo before has drastically improved as result of some coaching as well.
It's refreshing to work with a trainer that I feel actually cares about me and my wellbeing.

As I neared my 60th birthday, years of neglecting my health (i.e., poor diet choices, never exercising, lots of work stress, etc.) finally caught up with me. In January of 2020 I found myself in the hospital weighing 200 pounds and riddled with ovarian cancer. At that moment, I knew I had to change everything in order to not only survive but thrive.
I started working with Josh Kumosz in February of 2020 and adopted a primarily plant based diet. As I underwent chemo treatment and recovered from surgery, Josh paced my twice weekly work-outs to fit how I felt and what I could do. Along the way, Josh took the time to learn about my disease and consulted with his extensive network of health experts to find ways to optimize my work-outs and diet. Remarkably, when I completed treatment, I was fitter and feeling better than I had in years. With his help, I have now lost 65 pounds and my body has been transformed into a close facsimile of my former 30-something self.
I highly recommend Josh as a personal trainer, he is simply one of the best and to me…a lifesaver.
