Great place to swim and work out, but sadly it has been permanently closed. Looking for a new place with a pool...

No matter what time, you won’t get the machines or weights you want.

Simply put, the gym is ok, if youre ok with dirty and messy most of the time. However, what the real problem is the lack of civilized gym goers. People hoard weights, bars, and machines. Often, you can’t work in with someone who has taken over 2-4 exercises.

Weekends tend to be very busy.

Very poor social skills from staff. The restrooms are not kept up to standard cleaning in both men and women locker room's. The staff show no consistency with courtesy stocking of papertowels to wipe down equipment.

I got this as a second membership because my primary gym doesn’t have long hours and sometimes I need to go after the kids are in bed. It took me 4 tries to sign up for a membership. There was always an issue with someone being there to sign me up. The 4th time finally Jacob (personal trainer) was super nice and willing to help and really went above and beyond, Zach the manager even called back after he had left for the day to walk him through signing me up, I just wish they made it easier for new members. A lot of the basic paperwork could be streamlined online or at a kiosk. The gym is nice, machines are new and well maintained and there is great variety as well as multiples for a lot of them. Members are messy leaving weights and attachments everywhere, but that’s not something the gym can control. There is a lot of variety so if you are new to fitness and don’t know where to start there is a lot of help and a lot to try. My only caution is call ahead if you are new and set a time to sign up so you don’t get frustrated.
Thank you Zach and Jacob for making it work so I could sign up.

My neighbor and I have been going for months now. during the week it's nice and clean and the paper dispensers are full, but on the weekend, they are always out of paper towel, toilet paper, washer bottles empty. The temperature in the sauna is 20 degrees lower too.

The Equipment is fine, but the layout isn't the greatest and you are always waiting on some dude who's hogging the machine in between his reps? Or they mark their spot with a water bottle while they are across the room somewhere.

You can't beat the price. I have been to several other gyms such as the YMCA and Razor Sharp. I prefer Xperience. It has the most equipment, a good pool and good hours. Staff does their best to clean up after messy and inconsiderate members. My only real complaint is about members who seem to enjoy making noise by slamming weights and who monopolize several weight stations at one time, bullies who hog the equipment.

Update: I finally decided to cancel my membership. The gym and locker rooms are run down, dirty, little maintenance done. I know they can't pick and choose their members, but the some of the people working out are just plain rude and obnoxious.

When I first walked in I was unsure of what to say or do. They asked the right questions to get me to the right person to get me signed up. After a couple days back and fourth and telling them I was going to go elsewhere they gave me a sweet deal I couldn’t refuse and now I am a member. The people are friendly and they treated me with respect and dignity from the moment I walked in. Hopefully throughout the years it will be the same experience as the first couple days.

It's a nice gym. Plenty of machines to use and spacious. I enjoy the sauna and pool at this location. Staff is friendly as well.

Only thing I do not like is that it's not open 24 hr 7 days a week. Sometimes you want to workout on a Sunday night when there's nothing going on.

But other than that, it's one of the better gyms in Racine.

I really enjoy working out at Xperience Fitness in Racine. The staff are welcoming when I check in.
The locker room is secure and kept very clean !
My favorite class is Q which is like HIIT and offers a variety of workout formats and class times during the week. The coaches, as well as class members, are upbeat and motivate me to work hard and push to the next level to reach my goals. A special shout out to Rachel A. who invited me to try Q in Aug. 2017 when it was first introduced. I’m hooked on Q.

Too many high pressure sales pitches. I was pressured into considering personal training. The rep started at a price of around something like $800 per month. Each time I said no the price dropped. Then I got an unpublished price offer not on the price chart he was referring to of $89. I would like a personal trainer but really cant afford it. They played on that
Wow. Also when I first signed up they automatically included an extra 10 bucks for a cheap towel and plastic water bottle. I said I'm not paying for that. He took it away quickly. Unethical.
Did get helpful unpressured training session as a birthday freebie. I liked that.

I am fairly dissapointed by this gym. Out of all the facilities and companies that I have ever visited, this was the worst. Don't get me wrong, the equipment is decent; free weights, cables, treadmill, and sauna are ok...mostly. The problem stems from two issues for me:the day pass cost/ policy, and customer service. The the last time I ever spent $20 for a day pass was at a state of the art gym in Virginia; it had everything you could ask for, including a Jacuzzi, massage chairs, and steam rooms. By comparison, xperience should NEVER demand that much for a day pass. As for the customer service, the young lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful, but the staff inside may vary. For instance, I was not aware that people are not allowed to use the fittness equipment in the training classroom. As there were no signs and the door to tHE CLASS ROOM WAS UNLOCKED. I assumed it was ok. As I was going through my routine, I was interrupted by one of the "trainers" who decided that being immediately hostile and demanding my exit was the best way to address the situation, oh and "please leave, if you want to join, then sign up for a class" shouldn't be the first words out of your mouth to a customer. And that is it, the gym is ok... like the kind of gym you'd find with little Xpectations of anything unique. Better off sticking with YMCA, at least they have a full sized pool.

I have been a member for 5 years and have had zero complaints with Xperience until NOW. On Sunday, I was contacted by a personal trainer, Zach, and informed that because it was my birthday month I had earned a free session. (The first time ever in my 5 years). I politely declined and was attempting to explain that I had a very busy month and worked odd hours, when Zach abruptly hung up on me mid sentence. Rude. If that’s the way Xperience employees treat clients then I want no part of this gym. Membership cancelled. YMCA or razor sharp or planet fitness take my money because obviously Xperience doesn’t want it!

Gym and locker rooms are filthy. Mens locker rooms smells terrible. Staff are nowhere to be seen. Nothing like the Xperience Fitness on S. 27th street.

Gym goers leave weights racked or littered all over. No one ever wipes their sweat off the equipment.

I'm stuck going here for a little longer, however that will change with my lifting partner gains better emplyment. Then I will happily cancel my membership and join the YMCA in Mt. Pleasant.

Old dated equipment.
Managed by Tony Yuri doesn’t say much for a modern day fitness center manager when the only modern exercise equipment is compartmentalized in a room which access is not granted unless you sign up for a class.. great way to convert real exercise business Tony Yuri.
I’m a member at 25 chain fitness centers and travel for a living seeing all kinds.. including experience in Waukesha where I can use the rowing machine kettle bells TRX straps box jumps and ropes without joining a class.
I have watched this gym in Racine Wi fail to be a successful Golds Gym and I would bet it fails to be a successful Experience Fitness.
It’s dated and dirty, no pizazz. Plenty of room to workout there was Hardly anyone here @ 6:55 am.

Do not leave your jacket on the general coat rack in the locker rooms. It will be stolen. You must keep your items in a locked locker or else items will be stolen by an undesirable person. Staff didn’t seem too concerned about the stolen jacket.

Definatley do not go here. I signed up for the 5 day pass online, went in to get it and was treated like complete garbage (probably cause im not skinny) then they gave me a tour showed me around, kept trying to pressure me into getting a membership for 21.99 even tho i repeatedly said i just wanna try out the 5 day pass. After saying that about 20 times, they got super angry i wouldnt sign up for the membership and literally threw the 5 day pass at me. Definitely will NOT be coming back here. I will go to a different gym that has non judgemental employees and doesnt pressure me into getting a membership right away. Big thumbs down from me. If i could give them 0 stars i would. This gym was really dirty. The men's bathrooms always had trash up to the top, the urinals always had urine and pubic hairs on the floor, the equipment was always dusty on top, and the mirrors were never wiped down just to name a few. Very gross. There are some areas where there isn't enough space and the layout seems awkward. The worst part of the gym is the music. The music is awful because it is nothing but popular music. The same boring songs were played OVER and OVER. The music needs to be more diverse. It is really difficult to cancel your membership because you have to send them a certified snail mail letter which means you have to go to the post office. Nobody there has the authority to cancel your membership. It all has to be done with an outside financial contractor. What a headache. Also, there is just way too much paperwork to fill out with its agreements and policies. It's a headache having your bank take out your monthly fee. And finally, there are way too many unnecessary rules here. However, they did fix broken equipment but it took them a long time. Not going back. It is hard finding a great gym.

Terrible. I gave them my debit card info and told them to not charge it tho cause i wanna pay cash. She said thats fine she just needs it on record. I was under the impression that this was a month to month membership. So as i was signing up shes like scan your finger sign the pad blah blah, not showing me anything on her computer screen and i went on. Was loving the gym and working out. But when it came time for my monthly payment they said my card wasn't going through so they were going to charge me a late fee. I said well it should, theres always money on it. Come to find out they are charging it as credit so its not going through right away so they are charging me a late fee. When i tried to tell them this they corrected it that month but then continued to do it the next month! Another late fee for charging my debit card as credit! And they gave me a number to call and take care of it but that person never answers. For some reason no one in that place can help you with payments unless its taking your money and selling you their stuff.

Perfect gym for second shifters and night owls! You can't beat the price. I signed up during a black Friday sale and saved about $70. For $20 a month I have access to the gym, pool, steam room, classes, and unlimited tanning.
This gym is perfect for me because it is open 24 hours Monday through Thursday, so I am able to go after work, which is around 2am. From 2 to 4am the gym is basically empty, and I have the pool all to myself. Not sure how the place looks during the daytime, but when I am there it's always pretty clean.
Another bonus to this membership is the points deal. I have earned enough points for a free month already!

The patrons are like the enforcers of the rules. If the enforcers don't mind if you poop in the pool then the patrons will be enjoying a poop filled pool. People forget to turn the water off at the bathroom sink. This kind of thing can happen, I understand. Unfortunately it happens a lot. (People come on) On the other hand the staff has been informed and they have done nothing. No motion faucets have been installed. No reminder notes to patrons. They don't care about the water usage. Because they make so much money that the little wasted doesn't out weigh the extra work. Putting weights away... People work out in the free weight area like it's their garage or basement. I find more weights on the floor than at the machine. In addition to that, people occupying multiple free weight dumbbells or free weight stations. AKA Super Setters. Super Selfish. Any dumbbells that want to be selfish and think the world revolves around them, should get off the steroids and get there mind straight. We all know low cost is low quality. And that's what we get. What a joke.

Gets worst. Hulia at front desk is absolutely rude to talk. With a 10 day pass she denies helping out to register and enter. Pathetic customer service. Hulia should be fired and taught some manners.

Joined 2 weeks back, no complaints on workout equipments, cardio etc. When I joined they made me pay 2 months - first and last month for $20 and told me I can downgrade to $10 for free within 35 days. I went after 10 days and they say downgrade fee of $30. I agree with other reviews that membership fee has no ethics and they will try to loot as much as they can. When I said I am quitting, they waived the downgrade charges.

I love the xperience chain, and this location is no different. It does get very busy from 5-8pm though like most gyms do.

The best thing about this gym is that it's $20 per month for everything. Very simple business idea. I think it's very forward thinking and makes sense.

This is what BOILS my blood about the Experience Fitness in Racine. Although, some of the front door staff in the evenings are very sharp and friendly, I have been said "NO" to in this gym more often then anyone should ever be said no to who is a paying customer. For me, it's not about actually getting what I'm asking for, it's about attitudes. Whoever signed up my husband a couple weeks ago was so quick to say no about us trying out a class before we got him signed up, that it was shocking. I have called 2 separate times with different questions and the front desk workers are always immediately saying something to the affect of "Nope." Or "Yeah, that's not possible..." Today I called to see if there was a way that I could change my billing from one account to another. Right away, whom ever answered the phone was like "Nope. you have to come in..." No further explanation. just no. I asked if maybe there was a way we could make an account and change it online. Phone girl "I don't think so...no." again, no further explanation. At this point, I'm thinking - "I don't think so..?." is not a very sure response. If you don't "THINK" so, maybe you should make SURE by asking a manager first?!? - I ask if maybe she could check with a manager (What a novel idea!). She put me on hold. Then a manager got on and said "This is Mia. Can I help you?" I was totally confused. I said, I was on hold for someone who was checking about a question I had..." She was like "Yeah. what's the question?" Seriously!? Would you think a manager of an established chain - who is clearly in SALES - respond with something like "Thanks for holding...'phone girl' told me you has a question about...(fill in blank)...Unfortunately we can't do that because....(Fill in blank).."

I just CAN NOT understand the aloof attitude that I am constantly "Xperiencing". It is a shame.

Another example are the attitudes of the workers in the Children's area. There is one girl that didn't give me the time of day when I started bring our daughter there a couple weeks ago, but she is slowly coming around and being friendly - after my consistent initiation of kindness towards her. The other girl that's in there in the evening has NEVER smiled at me - ever. All is see her do is sit in a corner on a chair until a child needs her help. And these are people we are supposed to be trusting with our children? Unfriendly workers who won't give you the time of day?

I am not going to be hard on the regular team members on this, as the attitude of any staff trickles from the top down. Clearly the management at this location does not care about their employees which means they don't care about their customers. Its very sad.

I've been a member of Xperience for a couple of years and I enjoy the variety of different types of exercise machines, classes, and training options that are offered at the facility. I also love the salt water lap pool. I liked my old gym because of it was small and personal, so I was really skeptical about a huge gym, but the staff is very helpful and knowledgable. I have also been taking the Body Pump and Body Combat classes and have found a strong following of regulars participants.
I signed up for a personal trainer last winter, and although it was expensive, I thought it was worth. My trainer taught me how to vary my workouts, use the machines and free weights safely, and crate a workout program that was tailored to me.
The sign up fees are a bit misleading and you pay extra when you downgrade, which I think is a bit silly. But, the folks who are there regularly are excellent.

Singed up for me and my infant, after looking at the day care I decided to cancel cause I didn't like it for my daughter, it was before the 3 days and I never got a refund of my money, also if I want to cancel my membership I have to write them a 'certified' letter 30 days before my cancelation, pffff I almost forget the year membership, and you have to pay for two months before you start, ok if I give so much to start with can I at least have what I don't use Of my money back? Called and nobody helps, incompetence staff, I won't waste my money here anymore.

Just started a membership a week ago and love it, especially the pool, which was the main thing that drew me in, reasonable price and a knowledgeable staff, LGBT friendly and for $20 a month we have access to the entire facility free classes unlimited and use of other facilities though I'm not really sure where there are others

Not surprised that this gym is getting bad reviews on yelp and pretty much across the board, yes they advertise the 10 dollars per month, that's a joke! You get to use "part of the gym" okay I can work with that we get just the work out areas and the treadmills. No classes no pool unless you pay around 30. With Thousands of members they have the nerve to charge an annual fee this month of 30 dollars, No WI FI is available to any of us lowly members, the prices for anything are 3-4 hundred % mark up and the personal trainers I wouldn't let walk my dog, I see them killing some poor over weight person in for the first time!!!! How embarrassing I'm embarrassed for them, Thats why you only see them once or twice a year if that,, but they keep paying the 10.00 a month but don't take any lot space or put wear on a machine. Just so you know before you give them your bank number so they can debit your account each month and once a year for that "annual fee" it's a hassle to "UN-join" you have to notify them notice in advance, Put it in writing, you have to go to your bank and put a stop on the automatic ACH monthly draw (They don't stop it EVER unless you do it) I think they just have so much money that it's just a meat market and a bunch of suits get in a board room and put together ways to glean more out of the members each year or attract members that join but don't use the gym. They sure as heck don't want us habitual gym rats,, the place could never handle all of it's members at once by a long shot. (BTW I'm NOT affiliated with any gym ownership or even have an ax to grind) Just telling it like it is. Right now because of the new year we are seeing it more crowed but that fades by February it happens every year. I am a member there (as well as other gyms) and I feel used, for me when they decided that we weren't good enough for a WI FI hook up, that was the last straw. In the end I guess I'm just like the rest of the sheep it's only 10 bucks a month you might pick up ring worm there ( A friend of mine did) There are enough people that belong there that I network with and work out along side that I stay, I know not the smartest purchase. I figure if this review is a place to blow off some steam and warn people then here it is.
