After the November 2025 renovation finally added a proper free-weight bench press setup (a multi-purpose power rack). For years I’d been stuck with only Smith machines and had been begging for a real barbell bench option. The moment that rack went in, I was thrilled, used it every session, and told all my friends this Planet Fitness had finally stepped up.
Today (11/29/25) I walked in to see a new sign: “No bench pressing in the multi-purpose rack.”
Just like that, they took away the one piece of equipment that made this gym perfect Weeks of excitement gone overnight.

Staff told me to “leave feedback,” so here it is. The gym is still clean and the renovation looks nice, but banning bench press on the only rack capable of it is ridiculous. Feels like they giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other. Dropping my rating from 5 stars to 2 until this policy changes. Very disappointed.

5 stars because I don't have anything against this location. Polite staff, clean facility.

HOWEVER, the way this company does business tells you all you need to know. They want your bank account (not a credit card) so they can get at least $150 or so out of you before you realize the services they offer are not worth the price of the membership. They cleverly charge your 'annual fee' months after your initial sign up, even though they charge you just as much as a 'sign up fee' when you first start. This is in addition to a fairly substantial $25/month membership fee for a gym that is barely open after the sun goes down. They're counting on you realizing the services don't match the fees and the goal is to separate you from as much of your money as possible before you do.

This place is everything opposite of what planet fitness should be about, the employees are super rude and always on their phones, they essentially harass members every few minutes and come at it aggressive, several times the manager has rudely yelled at people to leave and never come back over things like having their bag with them on the floor, I recommend avoiding this gym at all costs! If you wanna workout somewhere clean that actually enjoys people being at their gym, go to Golds!

Always clean and well maintained. The trainer, Ashley, is good people and will help you if you need a specialized work out plan built. For those that don't want to download the app to your phone to check in ask for a key card. They have them but the manager and his crew will try to force you to use your phone.

It closes at 10 on weekdays which was kind of surprising to me but not shocking I guess, being located in Cheyenne, but they open at 4am so it's almost like they are open all night. It is quite a big location with tons of equipment. The hydromassage lounges are super strong, which I love, it was so relaxing, and they even have other channels on the TV's besides the standard music channels or PF advertisement channels. In fact, the whole black card spa was quite big as well. The staff was also really friendly.

I’ve been a loyal Planet Fitness member since 2015 and have visited many locations over the years without any issues—until I came to this one. Every single time I walked in, the staff had something to say about what I was or wasn’t wearing. It felt like I was being singled out and harassed on every visit.

When I politely asked to see the policy they were referring to, the employee walked away, and another staff member came over to tell me that I made the first employee “feel stupid” for asking for the policy. That’s completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior.

The way I was treated here was rude, unwelcoming, and not at all in line with the Planet Fitness “Judgement Free Zone” motto. I have since canceled my membership and joined a much better gym where I’m treated with respect.

I travel the country full time and visit a lot of PFs...
The "Weekend Night Crew" Justus and Carson are such awesome guys! They saw a gal doing glute bridges and brought over a cushion for her back. When I went to the locker room they correctly had the 'male attendant' sign out and Justus immediately said hello, asked if i was planning to take a shower, and when I said yes he said that he would come back and finish cleaning when I was done. And he also checked before re-entering. I felt so comfortable. Thanks so much for the Wyoming hospitality!

I've been to many of the planet fitness facilities and have never seen an employee on their hands and knees scrubbing the showers. The women's room was the cleanest I have ever seen in a Planet Fitness gym. When I complimented the employee they said they clean the gym every week and the locker rooms every night. The rest of the gym was looking very well maintained as well and the equipment worked well. They have bar pads that you are able to barrow free of charge. Overall great experience.

I’m a truck driver so #1 concern to start is always parking, don’t park in front of this location, I went around back it was way less crowded and security didn’t say anything. Everything else was up to par, shower was good and equipment was as well. Thank a lot for letting us get a workout and shower and also most importantly not hassled about parking

Small and awkward gym with rude employees. They act like its a TSA checkpoint just to enter the facility to workout. Part of what I pay for as a black card member is access to all facilities nationwide and ive used my membership across the country and never been questioned at all or asked to fill out special waivers in such a rude way like this poor facility in Cheyenne wyoming did. Laramie is a much better location and Cheyenne isn't in their franchise for a reason.

I'm trying to find a safe gym for my 80 yr old mother. This business doesn't consider womens lockerrooms as gender specific and I'm not comfortable with that policy. I believe such important information should be clearly posted so women can make a decision of health & safety for themselves before an encounter.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, which makes this situation even more disheartening. Due to a past issue at the Fort Collins location, I was denied membership at another Planet Fitness—even after I paid—because a staff member chose to cancel it based on my previous account.

I mention mental health awareness because I’ve been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. I don’t rely on medication; instead, working out is my primary coping mechanism. It genuinely helps me manage my mental health. Unfortunately, Planet Fitness has taken that away from me.

Based on my experience, it feels like Planet Fitness doesn’t truly support mental health awareness—despite promoting it. The way the manager denied my membership without explanation was unfair and left me feeling dismissed and devalued.

They have no idea what I’ve been through or what working out means to me—and frankly, it seems like they don’t care. It’s disappointing to see such a disconnect between the values they advertise and the way they treat people. This is supposed to be a country that cares about its people, but too often, the actions tell a different story.

Very clean, really nice staff, great equipment. Typical mixture of decent folks & entitled snotty 20 something yo females. The water in the showers was warm enough to not be uncomfortable (so many Planet Fitness have cold water, luckily this one doesn't) and I enjoyed the massage chairs!

these guys either lie or they truly don't train their people right I would have been more than willing to pay their $29 enrollment fee if they had been up front with me on the phone but I called up here and spoke to him the lady on the phone told me oh it's only going to be $15 I ask is there any kind of enrollment fee or upfront fee other than that no sir there's not but I get in here and the gentleman comes up to me and asked me for a $25 enrollment fee or $29 enrollment fee for a total of almost 50 bucks there's a big difference between $15 and $50 get your information straight

Just FYI I'm not one to do reviews. However, one needed to be posted.
I have been member of Plant Fitness for about two years. During this time I've enjoyed the top notch cleanliness of the gym, as well as the informative & friendly staff.
In Jan 2025 I went out of state to visit a friend. During that time I visited a couple of Plant Fitness gyms. Let me just say, the exercise wasn't a good one. The floors, equipment, as well as the bathroom, were nasty. However, when I returned to Planet Fitness in Cheyenne, I know nothing could top it. The Plant Fitness in Cheyenne was awarded the cleanest in all Wyoming.
Gray manages the gym. He sets the example for all the employees. You'll see him with a vacuum, broom, or wiping down the machines. Needless to say everyone follows suit.
If you have an opportunity to visit this well kept, friendly environment, you'll be sold.
Also, this is a NO JUDGDMENT ESTABLISHMENT. You can take that to the bank.

I was told I could not join your facility without sharing my personal banking information with a young man at the counter as well as anyone else that would have access through your ( I'm sure you will tell me secure) system. I have been involved in a number of security breaches, all with "secure" systems.

Just relocated and asked on my first day if anything needed updating after switching clubs. A few workouts later, the GM chased me down, insisting I update my info and take a photo immediately—despite my prior attempt to handle it on my own proactively. Honestly one of the best Planet Fitness locations I've been to in the country, and we travel for work nationwide.

I had an issue with a male member approaching me on more than one occasion. I brought it to the manager's attention. That same day the manager followed up. I have been to several of the planet fitness a 100 mile radius and this is my favorite one. Plenty of machines and a great a helpful staff. I rarely am unable to get the weights or machines I’m looking to use and the staff is always quick to be friendly and helpful.
It can be very crowded in the evening. In my experience, the next times to go are between 5AM and noon. If you want to ensure you can get on a weight machine quickly, avoid 5-7pm but there are still plenty of cardio options open at that time.

Friendly and helpful staff is the highlight. Very few equipment options for pushing days when compared to others I’ve visited in Colorado, Oregon, Nebraska, and Iowa. Equipment is older. The owner has not updated the computer system, forcing employees (who also seem frustrated with it) to have out of town members provide their name, email, home gym location and reason for visit on a waiver of injury form that then gets shredded when full. I've offered three stars on this review, because I've been a member here for more than a year and up until the past month or so things were pretty well run. It should come as no surprise that early January would be the busiest time of the year for a business of this sort....yet for reasons not entirely clear, the location seems unequal to the task. Equipment that was operational and well-maintained previously is out of service. Staffing is insufficient (currently here on a Sunday afternoon, at 3pm...."as busy as it gets" according to Google's tracking) and yet there is only one person behind the counter, with multiple people waiting in line for help (presumably some of them prospective members). When questioned as to when the unavailable equipment would be back in service, I was only offered "probably toward the end of the week, when the managers are here". This leads one to wonder whether management is really involved in the day-to-day operations, or simply stops by on an infrequent basis. In the interest of fairness, I'll follow up on these comments if or when the situation improves.

Update 1/16/24 - Adjusted to four stars. Most of the issues with out-of-service equipment have been addressed, and it has served to "even out" traffic to other areas....good to see that. Staffing still seems off, though. Today, at midday on a Tuesday, I counted no fewer than ten employees on the floor (maybe it was during a shift change?) while weekends still seem short-staffed. As a career manager, I understand that balancing the schedule is among the most challenging things a retail/service business faces. But it's also one of the easiest things to fix. Overall, it's a good club, with friendly employees and a clean facility!

Traveler Review. The Great- what a spacious gym! Love the separate rooms for abs and stretching. Good free weight space up front. Staff friendly. Clean work out area. The Good- nice size locker rooms, the women’s room was clean, plenty of hot water in the shower, nice mats outside and fabric shower liners.
The Okay- maybe caught the mens room on an off day- hubby said not clean.
The Not So Great- NO hairdryers. No changing area off the showers- and what they did have was far away. Could use additional hooks to hang your items outside the showers to help with that.

Friendly staff, very clean. I love coming to workout here. Staff is always working hard to keep everything clean and has great customer service when you arrive or leave. They make you feel welcome with a smile.

I like this place, especially the membership fee. It's so reasonable anyone could afford to work out here. Plenty of equipment so there is not anytime lost waiting on a particular piece.

I've always loved PF. The patrons just smile...if that...and go about their workouts. Not being from Cheyenne, I'm not used to that. Where I'm from, folks strike up conversations and are always looking for accountability partners. But I'm okay with being left alone. I really like popping in my earbuds and playing my workout vids on YT and no one cares.

I love being able to go with my teens. We all work out differently and can check in on each other easily. The staff is very helpful when we have questions. The facilities are kept very clean

machines are always clean, staff is friendly, bathrooms sanitary. never waiting for a machine and the massage beds/loungers have very little wait if any. ever
