Stairs only let one person do a workout then it says "no spm detected". I play "can I use the stairmaster" everything i go. Once im able, I will be trying the cedar falls location. If they have the same issue, ill have to find a different gym.

I came in with a positive attitude, with a good mind set & I came in & said “hi ,how are you doing?” & the apparent HEAD MANAGER (blonde hair glasses quite old looking) of the organization said you don’t have to do that as if I was being rude I felt immediately criticized & belittled mind you she has both her headphones in & asked “what do you want?” I said never mind I’m going somewhere else I have gotten memberships several times was considering getting one again after that experience I definitely will not. This place has started to come around a little over the last few months. It still has some opportunity to improve in the cleanliness category, but it's better than it's been in a while. Came back to add some context. Wanted to be fair since they responded right away. The equipment is great always clean and functional, and repairs are made really fast now when needed. The opportunities are in the details. The stuff we would care about is great. I was more so talking base boards, stuff that's out of reach for normal cleaning or things that are likely done once a week like the dividers in men's bathroom. Not bad stuff, just fine points to touch on. I'm guessing maybe management has changed because it is a night and day difference from, say, a year ago.

I love that I can go pretty much anywhere and find a gym... the set up in each facility is a little different but the equipment is pretty standard... they are always clean and staff is friendly. Enough equipment that if the machine I want is taken I can find another one. Rarely have to wait and if I do it's because someone is using it to chat rather than work out (I know it's judgement free zone) but I get a bit judgy when folks aren't there to actually work out.

I've had black card membership for 4 years I keep forgetting to cancel but there tanning beds suck half the bulbs are ALWAYS burned out and the lids don't stay closed that is part of reason I go there I went full min first time in bed didn't even get pink and I tan easy at other places they really need to upgrade stuff to keep people coming

Horrible experience trying to cancel. I moved to a new city but could not change this location as my “home club,” and they require going to your home club to cancel. Today when I came to workout, there was a female cleaning men’s bathroom sign. So I was respectful said good morning to her and put my gym bag away since it’s not aloud at the workout area. A guy staff member then came in the locker room and said “ Heyy do you not know how to read the sign by the bathroom can it not be any more clear.” He said I wasn’t aloud in the locker room when that sign is there. Which it doesn’t say on the sign. I went on with my workout which lasted about an hour and the sign was still there! I felt more like a perv having to wait outside the locker room right behind the treadmills where all the girls were running. I waited there for about 10 minutes watching 6 guys go in and leave the locker room. None of them were treated bad by saying do you not know how to read. There is a sign outside the door. I don’t know what I was supposed to do in this situation get yelled at by staff for putting my bag away since it’s not aloud in the workout area, or wait behind everyone on the treadmills and have the other members feel uncomfortable because they won’t allow me in the locker room. If I followed what the staff said I would not have been able to workout at all today because the sign never left the spot it was at for the whole hour I was there. The worst part is 3 guys were at the desk when I came in just talking to each other. Each of them could of cleaned the bathroom instead of the older girl for this whole situation to of never happened.

Planet Fitness is by far the best gym I've ever been a member of. The friendly, courteous staff is always on hand to answer any questions. The equipment is easy to use and if you find it isn't easy to use for you, there are several ways to learn how to use it. The club is always clean and no matter where you are in your health journey, the judgment free zone makes you feel like you REALLY belong. You never feel rushed to use a piece of equipment. The dirtiest gym I have ever been to. From now on, I will write about every dirty Planet Fitness gym.
1. A lot of dust. It is everywhere - on simulators, on the floor, especially in the corners there are large piles of garbage. How can you work in such dust?
2. Toilets and urinals have not been washed for a very long time. They even got mold.
3. There is no soap in the toilet, no paper to wipe your hands (although the paper box is hanging, but it is empty).

This place is cool. They have more than enough machines. I like the different rooms they have for stretching, 30 minute workout, etc. The locker rooms are nice. The staff are polite, keep the place clean and they make me feel welcome. There are always paper towels and sanitizer for cleaning machines when you are done using them. Planet fitness has a wide range of equipment and reasonable pricing; unfortunately, this gym has so many treadmills and cycling bikes and hardly any space for free weights.

Additionally, the minimum commitment time for the $10 a month subscription is 12 months, so trying this gym out at a reasonable price to see how it will fit into your schedule is not possible. You'd have to pay significantly higher at $24 per month for that.

I travel to Waterloo from my home city often. I upgraded my membership at PF so I could train here as well. The place is always immaculately clean. The Tanning Beds are state of the art and the bulbs are changed often so your always getting what you pay for. On top of all that the staff is courteous, well informed and go out of there way to help you in any way they can. Sometimes you get more then what you pay for in life and from this ex Bodybuilders experience Planet Fitness over delivers on your expectations

Equipment is definitely sub par. Cables have extra resistance in them you didnt ask for. Benches are wobbly beyond belief. The Cedar Falls location is vastly superior as far as equipment is concerned.

I know planet fitness usually leaves a lot to be desired but this one in particular is especially disappointing . Machines are broken and have been for weeks. Water fountain has been broken for weeks and the boys bathroom has the soap dispensers ripped from the walls and on the counter. Staff is always on their phones at the front of the gym and the guests are always working out in jeans and flip flops. Place is ratchet to say the least .
