Working out here is great. It is easy and convenient especially with the black card I can go to any of their locations. However I usually prefer the towers branch BUT whenever I shower there, the water temperature is very inconsistent. Some days it is warm, some days it runs colder. Some showers run warmer than others and some have better water pressure. Call me goldie locks but i prefer to be comfortable when i shower after sweating my butt off ;p. It would be nice to see a shower room remodel in the future.

I don't generally write business reviews, because they tend to get lost in the noise. But I genuinely love this Planet Fitness. All of the people who work the front desk are friendly and many know my name. Normally, that freaks me out a bit, but I'm okay with that in this case. When I left my jacket there, they went out of their way to find it in the back for me. It's just an all-around welcoming and inclusive environment and going there makes me happy.

This is the best gym experience you’ll ever have here due to the staff, equipment and some of the regulars that even go here to workout are real friendly and welcoming. After being a member of the YMCA for many years and realizing I use nothing but the weights and equipment I opted two years ago for a less expensive option. I love this planet fitness. The staff are very welcoming and always smiling and helpful. The equipment was upgraded last year I believe. This is not a dig to planet fitness but I do wish that some of the customers would be more attentive of just sitting on machines on their phone for 10 or 15 minutes while other people are wanting to get in and out. Overall, this is a smaller gym, but never extremely crowded. I have continued to recommend them to friends and family.

I have been a member of this gym for over 2 years now. This morning, 10/1/2025 I entered from a woman who was not dressed in a uniform, who was smoking and looked horrible then opened the door for me. She grabbed the scanner and held it out, (not behind the desk, just walked over and said good morning) at first I thought she was homeless and playing some game, but then I realized she WORKS there. I don’t know how we’ve gotten to this level of unprofessionalism in the mornings, but it made me super uncomfortable that she was smoking and had no real sign that she worked there. No uniform, nothing. I was there at 5 am. Whoever that is needs to be fired.

I can honestly say I have no complaints about this Planet Fitness location, besides the fact that some genius decided to place a Mexican restaurant right next door to the gym and I obviously need to work on my willpower because quite often as I walk out the door, especially after a mid morning weekend workout, I'll see the sign for the restaurant and end up having lunch there. Good plan Mexican Restaurant owner! Good plan!

I'm in a band. We have 8 people on our crew that all have black card memberships with Planet Fitness. We usually arrive in the morning, get everyone into the gym for workouts and showers then we're gone by 1 or 2pm. We park way out of the way so we don't bother anyone. Within 15m of being here a parking attendant told us we had to leave. I talked to the manager who was very nice but said there is nothing they can do. Towers Shopping Center won't let us be customers here.

There are 3 locations in the Roanoke area, the one I visited was in the Towers shopping mall. The people are very friendly, but like most planet fitness locations that I have traveled to lacks employees who are knowledgeable about training of any kind of fitness. They are very polite, and they remember me by name, which is the only place that does this.

They used to have two of several machines, they got new equipment and now only have one of those machines, abdominal twist, seated leg curl, etc. It's a pain having to wait for them to free up, especially since they got the new versions, other people use them non stop.

I have been a member of Planet Fitness Brandon Ave. for approx 6 months and find it to be one of the best gyms I ever belonged to. I have found it to be friendly, clean, and the personnel to be very helpful in answering all my questions. Because of the attitude of Jordan I look forward to visiting regularly. If you are traveling and looking to take a quick shower DO NOT! Especially if you are female. Changing rooms have tiny curtains that barely cover, giving no privacy. The MOST disappointing thing was I was all set for a shower… naked waiting for hot water. There WAS NOOO HOT WATER! Horrible experience if traveling.

Very very unhappy with the Towers location. Signed up, paid for my membership, used it twice and then found out that they cancelled my membership because they don't like members using their cash app card account to pay the monthly membership fee! Even though mine never presented them a problem. And on top of that, they never called me, emailed me or even bothered to send me a letter! Just up and cancelled it. So, needless to say I paid almost $100 to use that location twice! They should have at least refunded me since I was only a member for about 30 days when THEY decided to end my membership for something that had nothing to do with my account!! What a rip off and very bad business.
